Chapter 78: Kamishiro Souta (Serious Duel)

“!?”

A surprise attack that shouldn’t have been possible to catch—but Souta had blocked it.

I widened my eyes in shock at the unexpected development.

Apparently, my speed had caught Souta off guard too, as he mirrored my expression.

Maybe it was because he still saw me as just a girl, but Souta’s stance was hesitant, his hips pulled back as he tried to step away and regain distance. I wasn’t about to let that happen—I stepped in deep and drove a straight left into his body.

“Guh…!”

A strike so fast it was nearly impossible to track with the eye. But Souta twisted his body away with incredible reflexes; the blow landed, but not cleanly enough to be decisive.

Sensing his elbow coming for my now-exposed back, I shrank my body low—practically skimming the ground—and dodged the strike, then backstepped to reset my stance at range.

That instant exchange was enough to change Souta’s expression. His face now held serious focus.

“…That was supposed to be a total surprise attack, and yet you still handled it.”

“To be honest, blocking that just now was pure luck. But… your moves are insane.”

Agility is powered by muscle.

In reality, that common gaming trope of ‘small equals fast’ doesn’t hold up. Real speed comes from the sheer volume of trained muscle in a larger body. That’s the common sense of the physical world.

But my body, enhanced with magic, broke that logic. Right now, I could strike as fast as a heavyweight pro boxer.

“So? Are you ready to take this seriously now?”

“If I keep thinking you’re just some girl, I’m gonna regret it. Doesn’t seem like I can hold back… so don’t blame me if you end up with scars.”

“I don’t mind. Come at me with everything.”

I extended my arm straight out, palm up, curling and uncurling my fingers to taunt him.

“Alright…!!”

With a sharp yell, Souta launched a right low kick. I stepped in to evade.

And right there, his exposed side was wide open. I slammed a right hook into it.

“Kh…!”

His next kick came immediately, but I sank my body low and dodged, then delivered a roundhouse kick to his thigh.

My kick knocked Souta off his feet. He rolled across the dirt.

I didn’t pursue.

Even with my enhanced strength, that blow wasn’t powerful enough to physically throw him. Which meant—Souta had launched himself backward, reducing the force of my kick and creating distance.

If I carelessly chased after him, he’d be waiting, ready to counterattack hard.

“…You’re seriously fast. And your strikes hit hard too.”

Brushing dirt off his uniform, Souta slowly stood.

“To think there was someone this strong right beside me… I can’t even track your movements with my eyes. Honestly, this is bad. Not sure if I can win like this.”

Despite his muttered complaint, Souta was smiling. His eyes burned with fighting spirit.

“…Want to give up?”

“Don’t joke. This is where it really starts.”

We both squared up again.

This time, I moved first.

I closed the distance with feints as Souta threw a probing jab. I read it, knocked it aside with a backfist, and slipped into his guard.

Just before I could strike, Souta drove into me with a rough shoulder tackle, throwing me off balance. As his fist came flying in, I deflected it with my arm while launching a desperate high kick aimed at his ribs.

I expected him to block the big, obvious swing.

But for some reason, Souta froze, shocked—his body locked up.

My kick landed cleanly in his side.

“Guh…!”

Souta winced in pain, his face twisted as I pressed the attack with a jab—but this time, he firmly blocked it with both arms.

“W-Wait! Time out!”

Souta thrust his palm out, signaling for a pause.

“…What?”

Annoyed at the interruption to our serious fight, I responded bluntly.

“It’s just… when you move around in a skirt, I can… kinda see under it…”

He said that while averting his gaze.

The tense atmosphere we’d built was completely ruined.

“…So what? You planning to blame your poor focus on getting distracted by my underwear?”

“That’s not what I meant… but… aren’t you embarrassed?”

“Not when it’s you, Souta.”

“…What’s that supposed to mean…”

Normally, having someone see my underwear would be embarrassing. But with Souta, it honestly didn’t matter.

After all, we’d done plenty of dumb things together over the years—stuff you wouldn’t even tell other girls about. We’d seen each other naked more times than I could count.

What bothered me more was that he’d interrupted a serious duel over something so trivial.

“If you’re that curious about my panties, I’ll let you see them as much as you want later… but focus on the fight for now.”

“…Seriously?”

Souta gulped.

Then, with bloodshot eyes, he practically devoured my body with his gaze—enough to make even me feel a little creeped out.

…Well, that’d only last until the duel ended—when I revealed who I actually was.

Once he realized it was me inside, he’d definitely be disappointed and lose all interest.

Thinking that made me feel a tiny bit guilty, but seeing just how badly he’d taken the bait… honestly, I wanted to tease him a little more.

“If you win… I might even let your wish be something a little naughty.”

Hiding my mouth shyly with my hand, I tried to provoke Souta even further, using the most deliberately cutesy tone I could manage. Thinking back, the reason he got flustered when I mentioned the ‘winner’s request’ was probably because something lewd popped into his mind. Most likely.

“…Are you serious!?”

Souta’s vocabulary had clearly collapsed under the weight of his excitement.

Still… if someone said this kind of thing to me, I probably wouldn’t handle it much better. That moment when an ordinary girl friend from school suddenly gives off that kind of vibe—it’s pretty erotic, honestly.

…Yeah, I was a little jealous of Souta.

『Ikuto-san… is it really okay to make a promise like that?』

Alicia’s slightly exasperated voice echoed in my head, full of concern.

『It’s fine. As long as I don’t lose, there’s no problem.』

『But… considering his level, I believe Souta-san’s combat ability is quite high for a normal human…』

『Even so. If I use magic, there’s no way I’ll lose.』

『I suppose that’s true… but still…』

I answered Alicia’s constant worrying with confidence, then turned back toward Souta.

“Alice… I’m coming at you with everything I’ve got.”

Souta’s expression was deadly serious now—like a drawn blade, sharp enough to cut if touched. The oppressive pressure pouring from him felt almost like the life-or-death battles I’d experienced in that other world.

“…Maybe I overdid the potion a little.”

Honestly, I’d never once fought a Souta this completely fired up.

…The terrifying power of a virgin’s lust.

『…Ikuto-san, are you really going to be alright?』

『Y-Yeah… I’ll be fine…』

…Probably.
