Where is this place? - 9
It's a once-in-a-lifetime crisis.
The moment has finally come...
Ugh, what should I do today?
I'm pretty confident in my ability to laze around at home.
If you asked me to write '14 Ways to Lazily Waste Time Most Efficiently,' I could do it.
But that was in my previous world; Nito's house is different.
There's nothing here.
It feels like a space that only exists for sleeping.
Therefore, the only time-killing activities available are sleeping and zoning out...!
That's why I'm getting ready to go out now.
I used up all my bullets last time... I need to buy some outdoor clothes too... So I'm going out to buy them.
And I might as well get a taste of the chaos of Kivotos while I'm at it.
I quickly got ready (there wasn't much to prepare) and opened the door to go outside.
A refreshing breeze, it would surely bring me an unforgettable feeling.
It's freaking cold.
I went back inside and grabbed another jacket.
Ahem!
Now, shall we really go?
With that newfound confidence, I set off,
"...Where am I?"
I'm lost.
Hmm... How far did I wander off?
In times like this, it's best to find a convenience store first.
I entered the nearest convenience store.
Of course, Sora isn't there to greet me.
All there is, is an android that seems to boast advanced technology... Wait, advanced technology?
That's right.
I'm in Millennium.
Oh...
How on earth did I manage to get lost all the way here?
I should quickly buy some bullets and leave.
I don't know what kind of bullets I need, but maybe I should just buy one of each type?
My approach, lacking any firearms knowledge, was to buy every type of bullet.
Do I have money?
I found the Pyroxenes I hadn't used here.
I bought all the different types of bullets, put them in a bag, and went outside.
If this is Millennium, I should be able to find at least one store to buy clothes.
...Do they do everything by delivery here?
This is the kind of information you'd only find in relationship stories, so I have no way of knowing.
Well, let's just wander around for now.
Today's outing is mainly about exploring the outside anyway.
So, I started walking aimlessly through Millennium.
I see students passing by occasionally.
Some students look at me after noticing me.
I know I'm dressed strangely in pajamas.
Even though I have a jacket on top, my pajama pants are still visible.
As I walked, I found a good place to kill time.
[Millennium Game Center]
I'll play here for a bit!
Entering the game center, I saw various game machines.
This place should be able to alleviate my boredom.
Thump-!
Tap-tap-!
Tudududud-!
The sound of something being vigorously pounded.
There are about three things in a game center that could make such a sound.
One is claw machines.
Everyone has memories of frantically pressing buttons with desperate hope.
Another is rhythm games.
Well... I don't need to elaborate on that.
And lastly, fighting games.
For fighting games to produce such sounds...
"Ugh!!! I almost won!!!!"
"Sis, you tend to make extreme choices when you're in a hurry."
"Ugh... Let's play again!"
That's right.
But they're those two, right?
Game Development Department.
The two members of what I'm more familiar with as the "Game Club" are chattering in front of a game machine.
It seems Momoi was the one frantically pressing buttons during the fighting game.
I stealthily moved behind them.
Watching fighting games is always so entertaining.
But I overlooked one thing.
"Sis, behind you."
"Huh? Behind me?"
Even though they were focused on the game, they noticed me standing behind them.
I underestimated the average Kivotos student.
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
Momoi's eyes met mine.
"Found an opening."
And the world's most petty Midori.
"Huh? Huh? Aagh!! Midori!!!"
Momoi's character was launched into the air.
She took a combo and lost.
"That's cheating!"
"The world of competition is harsh..."
Having lost her composure, Momoi lost all the subsequent rounds.
...I should run away now.
Grab-
"Eek!"
"Where do you think you're going?"
Ah, I've been caught.
"You were watching from behind, weren't you?"
"..."
I didn't say anything.
In a way, my actions were a breach of etiquette.
"Sis, what are you going to do with her?"
"W-well..."
No.
She just doesn't seem to be thinking.
"U-um... I'll be going now..."
"Hmm... You're someone I haven't seen around here before, so should we show you around the game center?"
Why me?
"Sounds good!"
It doesn't!
My face is saying it all, but they don't seem to notice.
It feels like they're veteran players eager to help a newbie.
Huh?
Is that right?
Grab-
"Eek?!"
"Come on, let's go!"
Momoi pulled my hand.
Midori went along with the mood.
I'm being dragged along again.
...It's dizzying.
