The Failure of the Siege
After being chased by some crazy men in the city, Chris and her friends take refuge in a nearby bar.
The men chasing them were all naked, drooling, with bloodshot eyes, and attacked them like mad dogs, prioritizing women in particular.
They all kind of knew what would happen if they were caught.
What on earth happened in this water city, Aquarius?
The clean water had become muddy like a sewer, and the town emanated an unpleasant smell that was a blend of rotten, sweet, and sexual odors.
For some reason, magic cannot be used in this town, so Aleph cannot use the teleportation magic he learned when he became a hero, nor can Chris use defensive magic.
Still, Aleph's fighting power is not affected, so it's still fine.
The problem was Chris. The majority of her power was based on magic, so in the current situation she was not only useless, but was merely a hindrance.
The door to the bar was currently blocked by tables and chairs that were inside, but if they came pouring in in large numbers, this wouldn't be enough to stop them.
Aleph tried to stay by Chris' side at all times to protect her, but as long as Aleph, their greatest fighting force, remained motionless, their situations will be only getting worse.
So he had no choice but to leave Chris in Aria and Reno's care and leave the bar to investigate the Four Heavenly Kings who were causing this.
Only the three girls are left.
Aria is the strongest fighter among them, but her sword skills are unreliable as she hasn't trained for a year.
Of course, her skills as a sword saint made her far stronger than the average swordsman, but when she is protecting someone, it's a different story.
Moreover, the remaining two were the Saintess, who couldn't use magic and had lower physical strength than the average village girl, and Reno, who was still a child. They didn't seem like they would be much help.
"Aria-nee-san, I'm sorry for being a burden to you..."
Chris, who was sitting with Reno in a corner of the bar, apologized to Aria with an apologetic look on her face.
"No, that's not true. Once you can use magic, Chris will be amazing. So, until then, I will definitely protect Chris and Reno-chan."
Aria thinks that if her life which was the same as dead when she woke up from Hayato's brainwashing, then it would be worth using it for Chris and the others.
"Thank you, Nee-san... but if it gets dangerous, please run away without worrying about me."
"...Don't say that, Chris. I will never abandon you, Chris."
"Nee-san……"
Even in a situation like this, Saint Chris worries about others more than herself, and Aria resolves to protect her no matter what happens to her.
"Onee-chan...I'm scared."
Reno slowly approaches Chris, clinging to her.
She looks just like a frightened small animal.
Seeing this, Chris pulled Reno close to her chest, gently stroked hee head and whispered in her ear.
"Rino, it's okay. It's okay... So please calm down."
The situation was by no means okay, but both Aria and Reno understood that she was saying it to avoid making little Reno anxious.
Reno felt a sense of security from Chris' kindness and warmth and fell asleep in her arms. The tension she had been holding onto for so long had probably snapped after all the horrors she had experienced since coming to the Demon's City.
"Poor Reno. Such a sight must have been very frightening for such a young child..."
Chris muttered to herself as she gently stroked the sleeping Reno's head. Aria nodded when she heard her.
"For a child...it must be unbearable to be looked at like that, a gaze that seems to contain all the ugly desires and malice of adults."
Naked men stare at her as if licking her, then chase after her. It's a sight that must fill any woman with pure fear.
And that horrible thing was even directed at the young Reno...
"Let's just wait and see how this goes... I hope Aleph finds the Four Heavenly Kings safely."
Aria muttered this with a hopeful look in her eyes, but she couldn't imagine it would go that well.
--Knock, knock! There was a sound of someone knocking on the bar door.
Chris hugs Reno, who jumps out at the sound, and they take refuge behind the bar counter.
Aria stood in front of the barricaded door, preparing to intercept them.
"Ahhhh... a female? A woman... it smells like a woman!"
An inhuman voice can be heard from outside. As if smelling something, the number of footsteps approaching the bar increases.
"Onee-chan..."
"Nee-san……"
Reno whispered to Chris as if relying on her, burying her face in her chest as if using her as a pillow and trembling.
Chris called out to Aria with a mixture of concern in her voice as she held Reno tightly.
"Don't worry, I'll... definitely....."
Saying that, Aria fixed her eyes firmly on the door and readied her sword.
The knocking on the door from outside grew louder and louder, and then...
"Guh ..."
--Bang! There was a roar and a loud impact sound, and the door was destroyed along with the barricade that was blocking it.
The 'beasts', having lost their sanity, attacked the three young girls.
"I won't let you lay a finger on them! Come on, you beasts! I'll be your opponent!"
Aria activated her Sword Saint skill and charged straight into the group of beasts.
Leaving Chris and the others at the bar, I went out to scout the area, using my Body Enhancement (Extreme) ability to wander around the town.
The city was in a terrible state.
On one street, naked men were repeatedly raping a naked woman. The woman was twitching, but she didn't seem to be moving...
The crazy men paid no attention to this and continued to satisfy their desires.
Scenes like that are probably happening all over the city. If I don't do something quickly, Chris and the others will end up like that too.
Shaking off the worst possible thoughts, I began to investigate every suspicious looking place one by one.
And in the center of the city, there was a huge building. It looked suspicious. There was a monster standing in front of the door, probably as a guard.
The Four Heavenly Kings must be here.
Hold on Chris, I'll get this done quickly... I'll get you out of this situation.
Suppressing my impatience, I took out the monsters in front of the entrance with a single blow.
And then I go into the building.
It smells good so of course you'll be found out.
