Vol 1: Chapter 6: Name-calling Nightmare
The Path to the Saint Legend
Name-calling Nightmare
As soon as we entered the room, the hero suddenly approached me. He was coming at me more aggressively than usual, this lecherous hero...
If you're going to discuss dangerous areas of the cave to be careful of, at least try and act a little more like you're discussing it.
You've got no right to call yourself a talented actor if you suddenly reveal your true nature! Come on, try and act good enough to fool me. Do you even get it, you third-rate bastard?
Without caring that I was getting angry and neglecting my performance, the lustful guy grabbed both of my hands as if to wrap them around mine.
They're looking directly at each other... they look like lovers gazing at each other...
"Hya! ... Ah, um ... Hero-sama? I heard that we were having a discussion, but what is this? (This is what true acting is, Hayato-kun, take this as an example and try again!)"
"Christina is so cute, and if you get this embarrassed just from having your hand held...that must mean you don't have anything with Aleph yet, right?"
"Eh? Hero-sama? Why it is it suddenly about Aleph-san―― (You can learn this technique of intentionally inserting words here too. It will be difficult since there is no one as skilled as me though! As expected, my acting is excellent.)"
"Hahaha, why? I saw you two having a friendly, sneaky chat on the stairs in the morning."
Hmm, it looks like you just saw me being considerate to Aleph.
I didn't sense anything, but well, that's what the hero is like, isn't it? I think it's a bit strange for the hero to openly declare that he's gone crazy in the morning, but basically everyone in this party is crazy
, so it's not surprising. So why is he angry?
"D-did you see me?! If so, you should have called out to me (what kind of reaction was this guy expecting?)"
"Hmm... I wonder if Christina even understands what she's saying right now?"
"Eh, well, Hero-sama? What's wrong? I really don't know what's going on... (Maybe this guy mistakenly thinks that I'm his or something.)
"You're not aware of it... huh? This is more serious than I thought. I'll need to make you fully understand later."
"Hero-sama...? (Don't say that so blatantly in front of me you lecherous hero. Also, you're no match for me, the most beautiful woman of the entire century.)"
"Oh, don't worry about it. I'll forgive you for now. But I was wondering if you were getting a little too close with Aleph, so I called you over."
The lustful hero Hayato, who had been staring at my face, narrowed his eyes and smiled.
---Grrrr---
At that moment, a dull sound echoed in my head.
(This guy is starting to get more and more blatant in his attacks.)
Naturally, the hero's worst Charm magic doesn't work on me, but I've been getting by up until now by pretending that it did work, so it would be no good if I remained calm here.
There's a chance that I might be able to play a brave saint who desperately resists the charms towards the climax of the saint legend, so I think I should cherish all the various flags.
I put both my knees on the floor, hold my head with both hands, and whisper "Agh!... Ahh... I'm feeling sick..." adjusting the volume so the hero can hear me, tears lightly well up in both my eyes and my whole body convulses a little. For me, this is an easy task.
The actress' skills are outstanding today as well. If Aleph saw this, he would definitely attack the hero.
"You look like you're in pain, Christina. Are you okay? Maybe God is punishing you for your shameless behavior?"
"...... Uuuh (It's such a nuisance for even God to be used as an excuse by this guy.)"
"If it's that painful, why don't you just accept it? Maybe you'll be freed from the pain. You're only suffering because you try too hard."
This guy, he still thinks that I can resist the charm with just my pure and beautiful mind. When I think about how he can't even grasp the contents of his own skills and just uses them randomly, he's so stupid I feel sorry for him.
Well, if he's that stupid, there's no way he'd even have a single chance of doubting my acting, so I'm actually grateful! It's painful how easy it is for the hero to be so easy to fool.
"Well, I... for a moment I felt like I wasn't myself anymore... like my mind was going haywire... (I think Aria said this at the beginning of our journey. I'm going to steal it.)"
"Huh? That's a strange conditions, so how are you feeling now?"
"That's what I don't understand...! I feel a terrible pain, but then it goes away immediately. What on earth happened to me? I'm really scared... (My talent is really frightening.)"
At this crucial moment, tears flowed vigorously from both my eyes. My whole body was drenched in sweat as I endured the double fear of the intense pain in my head and the unknown symptoms.
Her face as she endures the pain is clearly frightened, and when you look at her face along with the tears she sheds, you can see she is the perfect example of a beautiful girl with a sad face, one that arouses the desire to protect her. I know I'm bragging, but I'm really impressed with how well I did!
"Poor thing... Christina. It's okay, I'll definitely help you. You don't need to worry about anything."
"Hero-sama... thank you. You're trying to comfort me, right? (In the end, you didn't even mention the cave, which is funny.)"
"I'll always be on your side. I want you to rely on me more from now on! Christina, you're not just Aria's little sister, you're important to me too."
"Yes. I will take those words to heart, Hero-sama. Thank you very much (though you're gross, after all.)"
"It's Hayato, okay? Christina."
"...Eh? But Hero-sama... (what's with this development...don't make me laugh)."
"Hayato, Christina."
"...I understand. Ha, Hayato...-sama (I'm looking forward to seeing Aleph's reaction, as he must have feelings for me now.)"
"Yes! Sure!"
When I called him by his name, the hero smiled with a disgusting smile that seemed to reach heaven. When his attitude is this obvious, all I can do is smile wryly.
Well, I have a plan to deal with either it's Hero or Hayato, so it doesn't really matter to me. I only called him Hero because I thought Aleph hated heroes.
"Okay, let's go back to the dining hall, Christina! Sorry for taking up your time."
"Yes... er, but ...Hero... no, Hayato-sama. Didn't you want to talk about the dangerous parts of the cave? (It seems like these guys wouldn't be able to have a normal conversation without me providing support. Has he forgotten why he stopped me?)
"Oh, that's fine. Let's just go with what we briefly discussed in the dining hall yesterday."
"Haa, I get it... (I can't imitate this shitty nonsense.)"
Sighing in my mind at the hero's apathy, as if he was only living off the sensations of the moment, we headed together to the dining hall where Aleph was waiting.
For some reason, the hero's right hand was tightly gripping my left hand and wouldn't let go. I thought that this was probably some kind of spite towards Aleph, but I vowed to disinfect my hands and wash them thoroughly afterwards.
20 minutes... Maybe 30 minutes had passed, but Chris and the hero still hadn't come out from the back. While I was waiting, Finne and Lily came into the dining room.
When she asked me where Hayato-sama was, I replied nonchalantly that he was talking to Chris in the back room. Finne looked at me with a grin, but I didn't have time to worry about that right now.
Chris, please... show up soon. Are you really talking about the cave? Isn't this too long? The unpleasant feelings are flooding me and I shake my head to clear them away. It'll be okay. I'll believe in you, Chris.
...The hero and Chris came walking from the back. It seemed that their conversation had finished. However, when I saw the two of them, I froze.
---The two of them were holding hands and looked like a happy couple.
Thump!
My heart started beating faster. Why are they holding hands? I looked over at Chris, and her face was slightly flushed. Chris's skin was as white and translucent as porcelain, so even the slightest excitement was noticeable.
They had only just been talking in the room, so why was she blushing? Was it really necessary to hold her hand? Anxiety and doubt began to well up inside me.
The more I doubted, the more my heart started beating, the more my chest hurt, and the more sick I felt. I must be completely pale right now. Hayato didn't seem to care about me as he spoke cheerfully to Finne and Lily.
"Good morning, Finne! Lily! Aria is probably still asleep, so could you wait a little longer before leaving?"
"Good morning, Hayato-sama! If that's what you want, we'll wait as long as it takes."
"The later it gets, the more Aria-chan loves you... Mmh! That's nice! Hayato-sama~ Please make sure Lily doesn't get enough sleep tonight either."
"Hahaha, are you jealous, Lily? How cute. I can't just turn down a request from such a cute girl! Understood."
"Really?! I love you so much, Hayato-sama!"
As usual, I paid no attention to the three of them who were chattering away about pointless nonsense, and looked at Chris in a panic. When our eyes met, she looked away from me, looking embarrassed.
What? Why on earth were you avoiding me now? What happened in the room? What did the hero do to you? Did you do it with him too?! My emotions are getting too excited and I feel helpless...
At the time, I couldn't even consider the possibility that maybe I had become so anxious that I glared at Chris, causing her to look away.
"More importantly, Hayato-sama, did you talk to Chris-chan about something?"
“Yes, Finne. I just wanted to double-check the dangerous parts of the cave. We all briefly discussed it yesterday, but I wanted to confirm it in the morning. Isn't that right, Christina?”
“Y-Yes. That’s right, Finne.”
Chris said to Finne in a slightly flustered manner, but there was an atmosphere that suggested there was more to it than that. I listened intently to what the three were saying, anxious and worried.
"Really? But when you two left the room you were holding hands so I thought you were having a fun in-room date with Hayato-sama? Ah, of course Chris-chan is more than welcome, but I think it would be nice if all childhood friends fell in love with the same person."
"Eh? Chris-chan has also fallen in love with Hayato-sama?! Hmm, a strong rival has appeared..."
"Hey, hey! Christina is in trouble, can you two just leave it there? I'm sorry Christina, but I don't think these two meant any harm."
"No no! Well, I don't mind at all... and it's true that I was holding Her--.... Hayato-sama's hand when we were walking out of the room, so, well, it's no wonder people misunderstood, ahaha..."
At the same time that Chris spoke, I felt as if I had been hit with a blunt object, and dropped the bag I was carrying...
The dizziness got worse and my physical condition, which had been excellent in the morning, was now a shadow of its former self.
Chris...? What did you just call him?
What on earth happened in the room?
Author's Note: Normally, this would lead to brainwashing and a tragic end.
