Chapter 2: Middle Part

TL Note: Despite already taken full control of Asurika body, our MC sometimes still refer himself from 3rd person perspective, so instead of using pronoun 'I', he use 'she'.

Middle Part

Having left the royal capital, Mizell's aimless journey progresses slowly.

And also my own journey, walking closely behind him.

Unfortunately, this road that connects the royal capital to the surrounding villages doesn't have any particularly otherworldly scenery. Walking along such a boring road can be very boring, and it can make you think about all sorts of things.

Where will this guy end up after this? I know the plot of the original story to some extent from the first volume of the manga, but I still don't know exactly what's going to happen next.

After all, there was no description about any named character following Mizell in the manga at this point. I wonder if it will stay exactly like the original.

Normally, in the mainstream plot. ...It's about time for the first easy-going heroine to appear and for the number of travel companions to increase. I've read a few times in exile stories where a new encounter leads to a turning point in life.

And this is what leads to the so-called harem story. The number of girls who adore the main character increases throughout the story, and before you know it, he becomes an extremely popular guy. I think that this story of Mizell will also be classified as such. This is my intuition as a reader.

But, hmm.

If that happens, does that mean I'll end up becoming a part of his harem? After all, I'm planning to use my body as a woman to gain his favor here.

That's... somehow feels ....annoying. I've become a beautiful girl who can manipulate men, but I don't like the idea of other girls fighting over one man. I like being superior to others. I don't want to be the one being held captive like a trophy.

I'd rather put him in my harem of beautiful girls. He has a pretty good face, and I'll put him in a corner of the room dressed as a girl.

...Just kidding.

I wonder if this is what I like. Maybe, in addition to being excited about the adventure in another world, my inner self may be somewhat influenced by Asurika's brain and soul. I can even peek into her memories.

Having unnatural changes inside yourself is not something you want to welcome, and it's something I should deal with, but...

But who cares. Asurika's empty brain is not going to change my very core.

As I continued walking, night fell.

Hey, hey, hey. I kept quiet because he ignored me, but... surely it's the rule of adventurers to find a place to camp before it gets to this point, right?

The only people allowed to move around in this darkness are veteran adventurers who know a lot about the area, or shady people like thieves. There are also nocturnal monsters, and it's very troublesome in the darkness. For Mizell, who has been walking since the day, to continue walking along this road at night would be a suicidal act.

As I closed the distance so as not to lose sight of him, or rather, to call out to him, Mizell started looking around restlessly in the darkness. Then, suddenly, he left the road and stepped into the bushes and woods.

For a moment, I wondered if he was going to look for a suicide spot in the forest.

I put a light on the tip of my magic wand and followed him. Eventually, Mizell came to a clearing surrounded by trees and stopped there.

...Ah, it looks like we could even camp here. Finally, it's time for a break.

I let out a deep breath as I watched Mizell begin pulling things out of the large bag.

After a while, it was already completely night.

But the bright flames were illuminating the surroundings. Looking at the warmth, I felt somehow at ease.

I took the liberty of sitting down on the small folding chair that Mizell had set up on the ground and closely observed him at work.

I'm an amateur when it comes to this sort of thing, so I was honestly impressed by how quickly he set up the small tents and started a fire.

I'm not the only one who's an amateur. Asurika is an adventurer, so I thought she should be able to do this much, and tried racking my brains to find out more about camping, but... this woman is completely useless at anything other than magic.

Maybe it's because she was originally a sheltered girl in a home where she could receive an education in magic. "I can just get someone else to do these chores," is what my brain tells me. Well, I'm going along with that now, and taking a rest like this.

The so-called adventurers are those who operate outside of towns and inside labyrinths. Camping skills like this are absolutely necessary, and Mizell, who has them, seems like a proper person who can work as a supporter.

...And it seems that in Asurika's previous party, she left most of that kind of work to Mizell.

I was surprised at how shortsighted she was to try and banish him in such a way. I wonder how it came to this.

.... When I try digging deep inside my head, it seems that in the beginning, Asurika also had a respect for Mizell and was grateful that he could do things that she couldn't. Even though she herself seems to have forgotten that.

Everyone has a history. There may be facts that you wouldn't have known if you had just read the manga or the original novel.

But as the party became more famous and their level rose, Mizell found it difficult to keep up... The bumps that arose along the way gradually grew into larger and larger gaps, eventually resulting in this.

It's a mistake that any human being can easily fall into, but Asurika died without ever reflecting on it.

I think that kind of stupid side of her is very cute.

"Here we go."

Having access to an interesting memory, I reluctantly get up.

Asurika looks delicate like a young girl, but her bottom is rather heavy. She must have lived a good life for an adventurer. She's been raising this body to be healthy so that I, who will take over the baton, can take care of it. What a good girl.

Just like when you wake up, I stretch a lot to get myself in shape.

Now then. Slacking off at times like these is what leads to resentment between people. To earn Mizell's favor, I have to do the opposite of what she has been doing so far.

In other words,

"Hey, can I help you?"

"……………Eh?"

I forced a kind and impressive smile onto Asurika's face.

Did I make it well enough? Mizell had probably never seen Asurika look at him like that before.

...He was frozen. Was it really that surprising that she offered to help, or did he just notice how cute her face was...? Or both? No, I'd say it was the latter. When you get the body of a beautiful girl, it's just so much fun to  charming other

I move away from the spot and pick up a long magic staff. I've never swung something like this around before, but now it feels right in my hand. That it's something I'm used to using.

Well then. Even though I said I would help, the knowledge of camping is not in my memory or in Asurika's brain. However, there is one skill that is necessary for people in "this world" to set up camp, but Mizell did not have it, and Asurika did.

Let's try it out right away.

She lights up the tip of her wand with magical light and draws a large diagram of light on the ground, surrounding the campsite. This is one way to activate magic, creating a magic circle.

The meaning behind the engraved designs and letters is "protection." In other words, it is a magic barrier or ward off attacks from monsters and enemies.

Mizell did not have the skill to set up magical warding off monsters like this, so a woman named Sophia, who used light-element magic, was always in charge of this in the party.

And Asurika, calling herself a great wizard in training, seemed to have mastered this skill as well.

I'm sure you studied hard, even sacrificing sleep, for the sake of a time when I would use it like this. Thank you, Asurika. I'll treasure it and use it from now on.

Once the barrier was complete and a fairly decent safe zone had been established, Mizell, who had at some point resumed his work, stopped again and turned his gaze towards me.

So I smiled again. See, I did my job well. You can't ignore me forever. If you were alone, you would have been shaking with fear of monsters in an unprotected tent at night and wouldn't have been able to sleep.

"....You."

"Hmm?"

Finally, the other person spoke. I wonder what words will come out.

"...the Barrier. Thank you."

...Hmm.

Can you even say 'thank you' to this Asurika?

"It's fine, if it's just this much."

I replied with a grin. Even to me, this expression was quite innocent. I couldn't think of any good way to act.

The boy gave me a puzzled look in response.

"...Umm. In return, let me stay in the tent too. I want a roof over my head when I sleep."

"Oh... I, I understand..."

I said it quite lightly, but it seemed to have been taken quite seriously by him. Mizell said he understood, but as he looked at the small one-person tent his expression was grim and it seemed he definitely wasn't serious about it.

I wonder if he was imagining things like when they were in a party, where Asurika would sleep soundly while he did the hard work of keeping watch outside... or something like that.

How stupid. There was no need for that anymore.

Also, if we packed everything together we could sleep together.

After a while.

In the shade of a small tent, within the barrier.

I took off my clothes and used water and purification magic to cleanse my body.

This is good. I'm glad I was reborn as a wizard. What a convenient body.

I'm the kind of person who reads this kind of genre, so I had always dreamed of being reincarnated as the "protagonist." But now, I'm truly glad that I was able to become Asurika, not Mizell.

Wizards are the best. She's also cute, and as you can see, she has a pretty good figure. Asurika herself seems to be unhappy that her breasts are smaller than her female companion Sophia, but I think these are definitely in the category of large breasts. Even her butt and thighs are large when she takes off her clothes, she has an attractive body. I thought that people in fantasy parallel worlds wouldn't eat very good food, but these are the proportions of someone who is properly nourished.

……That's right.

Perfect timing. Should I just go ahead and try to seduce that boy on the other side of this tent?

A beautiful girl who had been partying with him for a long time now comes on to him, revealing what's underneath her clothes, something that has always been visible but never been seen before. I think it's an attack that a boy of that age cannot withstand.

...No, it's still too early. Even though Mizell isn't trying to kick me out, he is still on his guard. If I do something obvious, he might get angry.

Maybe I'll save the night crawling for a little later.

There's no need to rush, Mizell must already be starting to be charmed by me. Although he's a bit perplexed, he's accepted the idea of me joining him on the journey. As the first day of the plan, this was more than enough. What a protagonist, so easy!

It might be fun to take my time and make it so that he can't live without me.

I changed from my traveler and wizard gear into casual nightwear. As I returned to the front of the tent, in front of the fire, I noticed that Mizell glanced my way and then quickly looked away.

If I were to find myself alone at night with a beautiful girl dressed like this, no matter how suspicious or disliked I was of her, it would have an effect.

I couldn't help but find it amusing to see Mizell occasionally glance in my direction.

Suddenly, I wake up from my sleep.

When I popped my head out of the tent, the sky was still dark. Judging from the bitter cold that brushed against my skin, it must have been the coldest time of the day, around dawn.

In the midst of that cold...Mizel, having ended up giving up his sleeping spot to me, was sleeping alone, sitting up, in an unroofed place.

The barrier is pretty good, so there shouldn't be much need for guards or fire watch. Is it because he is too serious, is it because I'm here, or is it because he has been forced to take on the short end of the stick like this every day...?

I wouldn't have minded if we had just squeezed the two of us into this small tent, but I guess I'll just be grateful for his consideration.

Judging from his complexion, he looks cold, so I'll start a fire and warm him up.

In addition to that, I thought that the best way to show my kindness would be to cover him with the blanket that has become warm from my body heat. No, I also thought of hugging him from behind to use it as a seductive move.

Which one should I choose?

...I guess I'll go with the former. I'll get mad if I get pushed away again like before.

He doze off, waiting for the sun to rise and warming himself with the magic-lit fire.

It seemed as if Mizell's breathing was getting deeper, so I looked over to see what was going on.

He looks more like a boy than a young man, with a baby face, and if he could act coolly, he'd be popular. He has the appearance of a typical protagonist in an isekai fantasy novel.

However, if I could empathize with this kind of harem protagonist (or someone who might be), I wouldn't feel anything for him, but when I see him as a complete stranger like this, I can't help but feel jealous. Just imagining him surrounded by multiple beautiful girls is no fun.

...I want to play with him. With this Asurika's body.

I grin. After all, it does seem like it would be fun to get involved in that way.

As I thought about how to interact with him from now on, I savored the feeling of warm outdoor fire.

Walking outside of towns in this world is a harsh experience, and even the best roads can be life-threatening.

Because there are "demons".

They and humans have been natural enemies since ancient times, and basically, if we meet, we will kill each other. So in this world, if you want to go camping, you need something to ward off monsters, and a large area where measures have been taken to prevent monsters from invading is called a "town," and there are jobs that allow you to make a living by exterminating monsters.

And such a weak person shouldn't leave town alone.

"Damn it!"

Mizell was desperately swinging his cheap sword around, struggling against the big black bird monster.

It was a big crow. Ever since they ripped open the garbage bag I put out in front of my apartment and dropped white shit on it, I've hated those pest birds with all my heart. Seeing a crow like that, now twice its size and aggressively attacking humans, was truly terrifying... but my anger and Asurika's experience in monster extermination helped to dull my fear.

And according to Asurika's knowledge, it was a weak monster around here. It moved quickly, but it didn't have any troublesome special abilities, so it was an opponent that a normal adventurer or exterminator should be able to defeat without difficulty.

Mizel was having a really hard time dealing with such an enemy though.

It seems like his physical abilities are about the same as a modern Japanese person. Certainly, if he was in this poor condition, Asurika's personality would surely be irritated just watching him.

"..."

I simply watches Mizell from a distance, who doesn't even ask for help.

I know the reason he is so weak is because he lacks "magic power."

Magic power is one of the things that allows humans, who lack natural physical abilities, to fight against powerful monsters.

This mysterious energy is used to, for example, increase the strength of a weapon-wielding soldier beyond that of an Olympic athlete, make bodies as strong as rock, and serve as the fuel for the unique phenomenon known as magic.

In other words, it's the power needed to fight.

However, the amount and quality of magical power that can be controlled varies from person to person, and those without "talent" would be unable to fight monsters. Mizell's current state is a clear example of this.

He had little magical power to strengthen his body, and was no match for the monsters' movements. If he was like this after holding a sword for over a year, anyone could tell he had no talent for slaying monsters. His former comrades would have thought the same.

But, having read the manga, I know.

This guy has one "special ability".

It involves sharing your magical power with those around you.

He is not aware of this, and is unable to control it. In fact, up until now, Mizell had been sharing most of his magical power with his party members. So without him, the party becomes weaker without understanding why, and Mizell himself only realizes the strength of the magical power flowing through his body once he is alone.

That's the secret behind the success story with this guy as the protagonist.

"Wha..!! My sword isn't hitting it..."

However, as long as you think of yourself as the "person you used to be," you'll end up in that kind of mess.

He wasn't able to make bold movements befitting his hidden power, and he probably didn't even know how to use magical power in the first place. With a flimsy sword and arm that had no magical power flowing through it, it was just a trick, trick...

It's a bit frustrating, like watching someone play a bad game from behind. But once Mizell is pushed to a desperate situation, he finally wakes up by becoming desperate.

I should wait for that time.

Therefore, it would be best to not get involved like this.

"Huh!! The number of monsters is... ugh!?"

"..."

Using magic to erase my presence, I watched as Mizell was beaten up by the newly-added monsters. He was punched by a beastman monster, clawed by a crow, and kicked away by a rock puppet...

Ah, you're really weak. If you don't get out of this weakling trap quickly, you'll die.

With the blood flowing from the wounds he had made here and there and the dust, Mizell was getting dirty. It was truly pitiful. He was probably at rock bottom now. But it would be a while before he bounced back.

"Ugh..."

Mizell was blown away and was unable to stand up, so he finally knelt on the ground.

The monsters close in to finish him off. Perhaps in a daze, Mizell doesn't even raise his sword.

I am――,

"...[Ex Flare]"

A huge beam of fire shoots out from the raised staff, sweeping away the monsters all at once.

With that, they all died and disappeared.

Phew.

I did it. I had a sense of morality that I had cultivated in Japan, and a human nature that made me worry about someone who was about to die right in front of me.

I put my wand on my shoulder and walked over to Mizell. I knelt down and cast a healing spell on him. It seems that this body isn't as good at healing as it is at attacking magic, but it'll be some comfort.

As I was feeling a little groggy after seeing his body covered in injuries, I noticed Mizell looking at me in a daze.

Bleeding from the head, a swollen and bruised face. This is a tragedy after only one challenge to a monster. He's so weak it makes me want to cry.

However, rather than lamenting the current situation, Mizell seemed to be feeling surprise. His expression showed this.

"...Why did you help me? And you even offered to treat me..."

Why?

I hear strange things.

"Nothing. You're weak."

I ended up saying something that would make people dislike me, just like Asurika did. I was too honest.

...I'm sure I'll do the same thing again if he finds himself cornered again. Well, it's just too pathetic to watch.

I made a mistake with my choice of words, but I hope he will just start to think that I've genuinely changed my ways. That would be easier. In fact, all I'm planning is to have some fun with him before he builds a harem.

With these thoughts in mind, I continued the treatment.

Mizell said in a hushed voice.

"...Thank you for saving my life."

To be honest, I felt a little embarrassed when he said that.

Well, if you can't even say thank you after being treated so well, you probably can't be the main character.

"No need to thank me, just get stronger."

"Yes. Thank you."

"You said it again."

"Oh, well, sorry..."

Once he is able to move again, we'll start walking again, heading somewhere.

I advised Mizell to be more conscious of the magical power flowing through him. Maybe this will change him. At best, I hope he will be able to protect himself from any monster, just like in the original story.

...From this time on, probably.

We became a "party" for now.

Author's Note

As I said up there, our MC still sometimes using 'she' in the monologue like he looking at things from 3rd person PoV. Example in this chapter "She lights up the tip of her wand with magical light..." It's not a typo as the raw really written as she (kanojo), not I (boku). Now, about the title of the novel, as someone suggested in the previous chapter to change it. I want to ask you, my readers, what title you think is better? The raw title is パーティー追放女に憑依, which only have 4 main words, "Party, Expulsion/Expelled, Woman, Possession/Possessed" So which one sounds better? 1. "Possessing a Woman Who Does A Party Expulsion" 2. "A Woman Possession in a Party Expulsion" 3. "Party Expulsion from a Possessed Woman" Or you you have better idea please tell me. I'll change the title when chapter 3 released. See you tomorrow
