Chapter 1: Bastard God and Unlucky Boy

Previous Chapter Next Chapter

I never imagined something like this would happen to me...

"And for these reasons, you shall..."

No, I'd be lying if I said I'd never thought about it...

"It's true that this is a disconcerting situation for you, but..."

But really? Getting hit by a truck—the absolute cliché—and then meeting a God who doesn't exist in the human mythology I know? One who talks about taking my soul to... what? Another world?

And why the hell are we inside what looks like the office of some rich and arrogant CEO, with windows showing what looks like a pirated version of biblical heaven?

Was that bird an angel...? Why do I ask? It was an angel... In a suit!

"Kid... are you listening to me?"

"I hear you loud and clear, as your voice echoes in my damn head, Lord God."

"...."

When I said such a thing without any expression on my face, the bald, thug-faced self-proclaimed deity frowned slightly before shrugging indifferently, leaning back in his expensive velvet chair while petting a damn winged cat for some reason, smoking.

Miau ~

"So, you understand the mission I have entrusted to you in that game world."

"...Become the future hero's childhood friend, help him muster the resolve to save his loved ones to successfully awaken his hero power, and make him promise—a promise he'll never keep—that he'll come back for me after killing the final boss, right?"

"Looks like you were paying attention." The mob boss-looking god smirked, and I had to fight the urge to punch him so I wouldn't fall straight into hell.

"But why do I have to be the childhood friend of the damn hero? And why would a god send me to that trashy game?"

"Because I want to see what happens if I do it!"

The God responded with an expression of amusement and a tone of voice that denoted his tremendous Authority.

"Do not worry, young, recently deceased mortal! If you fulfill your mission well, even if you die in the middle, you will have a guaranteed place in my heaven where you will be able to enjoy the best things a soul can desire after losing their life! You will even be given permission to enjoy things you never had the time or ability to experience!"

"I don't want to go to your heaven!"

Then you'll be able to reincarnate in the world or era of your choosing. Either way, I can't return you to your original world, as you're officially dead. If you fail, I'll abandon you in the sea of souls so you can eventually dissolve into pure spiritual energy that will give birth to more souls for the multiverse... Come to think of it, what this God offers you isn't bad at all compared to that fate, right?

"...."

"I see you understand."

The god smiled at me, his face covered with a little smoke, his gold teeth shining with his satisfied smile.

So, I was forced to follow his mission to prevent the extinction of my existence, and with a snap of his fingers, I, a poor and ordinary young Latino, woke up in a rustic wooden house...as a woman!

Looking down at my delicate hands holding my beautiful golden hair, I sighed with a small sense of loss, especially at the lack of what should be between her legs as I thought “Bugger” with all my heart.

"Maru~"

A child's voice pulled me from my thoughts, and I turned my head toward the window. There, a boy with platinum hair and beautiful sky-blue eyes was smiling at me while waving his hand.

"Good morning ~"

"...Ah.."

"?"

Looking at the protagonist of this world, who tilted his head in confusion at my sudden sigh, I felt a severe headache.
