Chapter 3: Looking together at those who soar through the skies...
“Hey, Maru, you’ve been acting really strange since I looked you up. What’s wrong?”
“Uh…me, nothing…”
“Liar…Something weird is going on!”
The boy looked at me suspiciously, and inside I panicked a little.
Did he realize I'm a different person in his little friend's body? Is this... the superior perception of a hero?
“You peed in your sleep and you’re embarrassed, aren’t you!?”
“What kind of logic is that!? No!”
What the hell? How did he even think of such a thing? He's getting on my nerves, and so far we've only exchanged a few words! Okay, but that could be because I'm antisocial.
“If I had peed, you could smell it because I didn't change my clothes before coming here!”
He suddenly came up to me and sniffed, “It’s true!”
“What the… Don’t just sniff me like that, you idiot!”
“How am I supposed to know if it’s true or not if I haven’t sniffed you out!?”
"Pervert!"
“What is that!?” he exclaimed, completely confused. Doesn’t this future hero know he’s a pervert?
How innocent. I'd like you to stay like that for a while and not get any weird ideas about me, okay?
I was a healthy young man before being determined to die out of nowhere and brought into this gambling world by the whims of the divine boss….
“So, Thadeus, why did you bring me here?”
The hero's name came out naturally from my lips as if it were nothing.
He laughed, raising an eyebrow. “Have you forgotten, Maru? Today marks ten years since the Wyrvens last immigrated, and from here we’ll be able to see it happen again!”
Ah.
Was there anything like that?
It made sense, then. However… Weren't wyrvens monsters? Why is this kid so excited about the idea of those creatures flying so close to his village?
Is he the Spirit of the Future Hero who will slay the Evil Dragon King of Darkness, or are the Wyrven of this world more harmless than he thought? They probably don't even consider humans part of their menu.
I remember in the game, you only encountered Wyrvens inside deep forests or some gigantic ruins…. I guess that makes it clear.
“Seeing the flight of such beautiful creatures as Wyrvens together is definitely something I wouldn’t miss for anything in the world!”
“Well, they certainly are great…”
"TRUE!?"
Thadeus's eyes lit up as he nodded happily. Wow, this kid loves Wyrvens… What would he say if, in the game, we guided him to happily kill those fake dragons for materials?
I'd probably treat it like a nightmare. Not that I can blame him... it's disturbing to be forced to destroy something you love.
Although it was just a game.
“Look, look…it’s happening now!”
While I was thinking, Thadeus suddenly started screaming while shaking my body to his liking and waving his hand at the sky. "Hey, don't do that!"
But before I could even complain, I saw it.
Wyrvens….hundreds of them, flying in formation high enough in the sky.
They couldn't be seen clearly enough to say they were even visible in detail... but those majestic beasts, their emerald-green scales gleaming in the sunlight, exclaimed loudly as they flew toward their destination.
The people on the streets of the town, far from panicking, were clearly seen observing the immigration of Wyrvens with a certain fascination, as if it were something that should not be feared, but appreciated for its rarity.
And I too watched, enraptured, as those beautiful magical beasts gracefully soared through the skies.
“Isn’t it beautiful!?”
“Yes…it’s fantastic…” I nodded, stunned, to the enthusiastic Thadeus, while watching the procession of those monster elegant.
It was there that I finally then got into my head 'Ah….I am really in a fantasy world'
