Chapter 1: First broadcast
"Can you see meee? If you can, type 『Can’t see you』 in the chat!"
Top Chat: Can se—…wait, what do you want us to do?
Top Chat: Don’t test the viewers right from the start, lol
Top Chat: I can see just fine
Several messages popped up in response to my words. No reports of ear-splitting noise either, so things seemed fine.
"Good. Looks like the stream’s working properly. Once again, thanks for coming. I appreciate it."
Top Chat: I’ll gladly accept your gratitude
Top Chat: So, what’s this stream about anyway?
"As the stream title says."
On the screen of my PC monitor, the broadcast title was clearly displayed: 『TS’d Into an Elf Princess, So Come Watch』
"I became an elf, and I wanted to show someone."
Top Chat: The ears are long
Top Chat: The hair’s lime green too
Top Chat: More on the cute side than beautiful, but the level’s really high
Top Chat: But uh, that oversized shirt you’re wearing? Risky, but very much appreciated
Top Chat: Don’t go solving your own questions, lol
I’d already checked in the mirror, but yeah—right now, I really was a beautiful girl.
I looked about high school age. Still had a trace of immaturity, but hints of feminine allure were there too. A gentle face that soothed just by looking at it, accented by sharply pointed, leaf-shaped elf ears. My long, emerald-green hair reached my waist, glossy and free of even a single split end. Honestly, I could probably outshine any random idol group all on my own.
"These aren’t clip-on ears or dyed hair. Look, they move."
Top Chat: Whoa, the ears really moved…wait, what!?
Top Chat: The hair’s moving too, lol
Top Chat: That as well!?
"Heh, gotcha."
Top Chat: You really caught me off guard there
Top Chat: Didn’t see that coming
Top Chat: What even is this, lol
"For some reason, the hair moves too. Behold, the Dragon Screw."
Top Chat: Stopppp, lmaooo
Top Chat: I’m dying over here
Top Chat: How does that even work
Top Chat: Amazing
Top Chat: But is that really an elf trait though?
"The ears make me an elf, right?"
Top Chat: Not exactly. Elves show up in all sorts of Norse myths and folklore. The interpretations vary a lot. Some even have cow tails or tree-hole-like cavities in their backs.
"Then… what did I become?"
Top Chat: How do you not know that yourself, lol
Top Chat: 【Breaking】Turns out the cute streamer insisting she’s an elf is actually an unidentified creature
Top Chat: What kind of setup did you even start this stream with?
"It’s not a setup, it’s the truth… Fine, I’ll tell you how this all happened."
When I woke up, I was in a pure white space.
"…Did I die?"
"No, no, no, you are not dead! Why would you jump to that conclusion!?"
Well, considering I was just floating in this hazy, milky-white void wearing my loungewear, you can’t really blame me for assuming I was dead.
When I turned around, I saw a cute girl with elf ears, draped in divine, fluttering silken robes, also floating there.
"And you are…?"
"Ahem… I am the First Princess of Alfheim, Bran Lieleffi. I summoned you here today because I have a request."
"Your Japanese is good."
"Ah, th-thank you! I studied really hard! Honorifics and polite speech are sooo difficult!"
"Why’d you bother learning it?"
"Ugh… B-Because I wanted to watch anime and
in Japanese… I-I really love …"…So she’s a hobbyist.
"Anyway, let me get back on track. Right now, we are here only as souls, in a space built in the gap between dimensions."
"Souls."
"Yes, souls. Well, not precisely, but… We don’t have much time before this space collapses, so I’ll skip the fine details."
"And my clothes?"
"They say you manifest what you’re most used to wearing, recognizing it as part of yourself."
The cheap knockoff-logo T-shirt I always threw on after baths… You were part of my soul, huh.
But seriously—white voids, elves, dimensional gaps, and now souls? This was straight-up fantasy.
"So, my request is this."
"What is it?"
"Would you be willing to lend me your body?"
"…Not just a hand, but the whole body?"
I tilted my head.
"Yes. I mean it literally, not figuratively. For the problem that appeared in my world, your body is absolutely necessary."
"So this is… a summoning?"
"Ah, no. Your soul will remain in Japan. Only your body is needed."
"I see…"
"S-sorry about that."
"Don’t worry about it."
…Though I was a little disappointed.
"So basically, I don’t have to do anything?"
"Correct. After sixty days, everything will return to normal. Your body will be restored exactly as you recognize it. However… I apologize, since I can’t send things one-way across worlds, my way of thanking you will have to be modest…"
"No need for thanks. I just started summer vacation anyway. Sixty days won’t be a problem."
My university exams had just ended. I had no part-time job lined up and no plans to return to my parents’ house. There wouldn’t really be any consequences.
If all it cost was losing my summer vacation, and someone else could be saved because of it—that was a fair trade.
"R-really!?"
"We help each other when we’re in trouble, right?"
"Thank you… Then, I’ll borrow your body. Sixty days from now, we’ll meet again."
"Yeah. Take good care of my body, okay?"
"Of course! Please take good care of mine too."
"Huh? What do you mean by tha—"
"And then, when I woke up, I somehow had this body."
Top Chat: She said she couldn’t send things one-way, remember?
Top Chat: So if it’s two-way, then it works, huh lol
Top Chat: The reason was way dumber than I thought
Top Chat: This just proves how important communication is!
"And so, I used all my money to buy streaming equipment and started broadcasting."
Top Chat: All your money!?
Top Chat: Not just for fun, huh lol
Top Chat: Wait—when did you even wake up in that body?
"One hour ago."
Top Chat: Embodiment of impulsiveness, huh?
Top Chat: Ahaaa, this mysterious creature clearly didn’t think anything through
