Chapter 112: Pirate Assault

On the game ship, its resilience was incredible—cannons didn’t even leave holes—and Elf-san was doing her usual elf things.

"Alright."

"It worked out well for us, though…"

"It feels weird hearing that from an Elf."

Top Chat: Congratulations? Survival battle decided?
Top Chat: Kyoka-chan & Kirishi-tan: ‘A battlefield where Elf is disadvantaged is good’ ← understandable
Top Chat: Elf-san: ‘A battlefield where Elf is disadvantaged is good’ ← understandable
Top Chat: Wait, you understand? lol
Top Chat: Well, she is an Elf

"The ship."

"Ugh… so this is it."

"Can’t be helped. I’ll switch gears."

A massive ship with grand sails spread out. On its deck, the twenty of us appeared.

Top Chat: Elf-san’s eyes wide at the ship while Kyoka-chan & Kirishi-tan look openly displeased
Top Chat: Honestly, this is completely off from expectations
Top Chat: Such a tricky stage…
Top Chat: And yet, this massive sailing ship really evokes a sense of the era
Top Chat: They say it’s inspired by a sea voyage motif
Top Chat: Then the first stage is probably a harbor
Top Chat: Load up a bunch of cargo, excited to set sail, and…

"Iron balls are falling."

Top Chat: Pirates are attacking, huh
Top Chat: Exactly

Four ships, each flying a black skull flag, surrounded ours and fired their cannons repeatedly even before the match began.

"Oh, it’s starting."

Top Chat: Whoa, they’re falling everywhere!
Top Chat: Run, run!
Top Chat: Hahaha! Run! Scatter!
Top Chat: Someone near Elf-san just got blasted by cannon fire
Top Chat: At this rate, just surviving is a full-time job before even dealing with Elf-san

"If we have barrels, we can make it."

Top Chat: Thinking about crossing the sea again
Top Chat: That’s naughty, Elf
Top Chat: Like forgetting to refill toilet paper
Top Chat: No barrels on this stage, by the way
Top Chat: Elf-san! Watch out!

"Hmm?"

One pirate ship that hadn’t fired aimed its bow at us, then accelerated straight forward—

Top Chat: Hold on!
Top Chat: Boom!

"Whoa."

It was a ram attack.

The pirate ship struck violently beneath the waterline, tilting ours drastically. Not a mere ten or twenty degrees—the entire deck became a slope exceeding sixty degrees, and anyone who hadn’t grabbed hold in advance slid straight off.

Top Chat: Aaaah (rolling sound)
Top Chat: Splash!
Top Chat: Did Elf-san make it?
Top Chat: Kyoka-chan’s still there
Top Chat: Kirishi-tan is safe, reports the sailor
Top Chat: If you’re a sailor, stop reporting and defeat the pirates!
Top Chat: Can’t do that, not on this ship

"Cannon fire."

As soon as the ship leveled, the cannons fired again.

Top Chat: Help!
Top Chat: Run, run!
Top Chat: Hahaha! Run! Run while you can!

"Ram attack."

Sensing the impending strike, everyone scrambled to find something to grab onto. Players slid into remaining spaces just in time to brace for impact. Others, whose spots were already taken, panicked and searched for new grips but failed, falling into the water.

Top Chat: Busy, huh!
Top Chat: One careless moment and you’re gone—this stage is tough
Top Chat: This game really tests your judgment
Top Chat: Elf-san adapted easily even though it’s her first time

"I’m good at musical chairs."

Top Chat: Musical chairs
Top Chat: Ah
Top Chat: Now I see what it reminds me of
Top Chat: Yep, it’s basically the same thing
Top Chat: So… some seats will disappear?
Top Chat: Ding-ding!

"Oh."

When the ship leveled again, many handrails and pillars had broken or bent. Ah, so that’s how they reduced available spots.

Top Chat: Space gets tighter, hurry!
Top Chat: Still some room near the bow!

"Hmm."

"Ah, Onii-chan."

Top Chat: Ran into each other
