Chapter 13: High School
Ding-dong!
The doorbell rang, and I headed to the entrance. When I opened the door, there was Kana-chan, smartly dressed in her work suit.
"I'm home."
"Welcome back!"
I’d gotten off work earlier than Kana-chan today and made it home first, but she arrived not long after.
"Senpaai~"
As soon as she closed the door and slipped off her shoes, Kana-chan threw her arms around me. That’s just how she is—a total sweetheart who loves to cuddle.
"There, there. You worked hard again this week."
"Yup. Ah, let’s have dinner. I’ll make curry udon with yesterday’s curry."
"Sorry for always making you cook."
"Hey, we agreed not to say that, remember?"
We traded our usual lighthearted banter before heading into the living room. Kana-chan went to the bedroom to change into her loungewear, then headed straight for the kitchen.
At this point, it’s practically like we’re living together. She comes and goes as she pleases, naturally slipping into the rhythm of cooking for us. She said she’d make curry udon, but now that I think about it, she was the one who made the curry yesterday, too.
"Senpai, it’s ready!"
After I’d waited a while in the living room, Kana-chan brought over steaming bowls of curry udon. We ate together, washed the dishes, and then relaxed on the sofa, wrapped in that easy weekend mood.
"Having tomorrow off is the best."
"Totally... Ah, Senpai, I brought my yearbook."
"For real!? Let me see, let me see!"
We’d promised she’d show me hers after I shared mine the other day.
"Here you go."
Kana-chan handed me her yearbook, and I flipped through the pages until I found her photo.
"Let’s see… ah, there you are!"
"Correct answer."
Wow, she hasn’t changed a bit—still the same cute, petite, busty girl.
"So cute!"
"Hehe, you think so?"
A busty girl in a blazer—adorable. Her hair was a little shorter back then, too.
"You’re really cute."
"I’m sitting right next to you, you know."
"Oh, right."
I pulled Kana-chan into a hug, letting the exhaustion from the week slowly melt away.
“Chihirocchi’s not coming today?”
It was Sunday, and as usual, I was at our regular family restaurant. I glanced at the seat diagonally across from me—Chihirocchi’s usual spot—and asked.
“Yeah, nya. It’s exam season, so she can’t make it, nya.”
“Fair enough. Gotta prioritize that.”
Being a student really does sound rough.
“I was looking through Kana-chan’s yearbook yesterday, and it made me nostalgic—like I wanted to go back to being a student again. But then I remembered exams and thought, yeah, never mind.”
“I get that, nya. Exams are the worst, nya. But you seem like the type who’d get good grades, Shachou.”
“Probably. Bet I was student council president.”
“Well, I actually was the student council president…”
Knew it.
“Shachou, are you more into sailor uniforms or blazers?”
“Hmm, I’ve never really thought about it…”
Really? That’s surprising, coming from a girl who’s usually so particular.
“Seriously?”
“I like both.”
Ah, of course. A true enthusiast.
“You’re not, like, doing sugar-mama stuff or anything, right?”
“I’ve thought about it, but the risk’s too high. It’d cause trouble for my employees.”
Wow. Just… wow.
“That good, huh? Want to see my sailor uniform? Here.”
I pulled out my phone and showed the photo they’d taken of me the other day.
“Oh—still passes for high school, huh? Classic loli.”
“After this photo… did you hook up, nya?”
Well, obviously.
“Yeah. How about you, Nyako?”
“No, nya. I won’t go into details—it gets dark—but my uniforms are at my parents’ house, and I’ve cut ties with them. So, impossible, nya.”
She’s a NEET who won 700 million, after all. There’s bound to be a lot behind that.
“How about you, Shachou?”
“Hmm… maybe I threw them away.”
What a waste.
“So, what about your school memories? Male or female?”
“Male. Lived an ordinary life; no real 青春 [youth].”
“Same here—male. Only memories are of being busy all the time.”
As expected, Shachou also remembers being male.
“How about you, Nyako?”
“Tama too, nya. Seems like some common sense rewrites happened around there, huh?”
“Maybe. You could try contacting old friends. I don’t have anyone left to reach out to.”
“Tama too, nya. After the lottery win made the news, people came crawling, so I cut ties with everyone, nya.”
That must have been rough.
“And you, Shachou?”
“Pretty much the same. Went to a reunion once—total hassle.”
Well, she does drive a Benz.
“Alright, let’s switch to something lighter—it’s getting a bit gloomy. Did you have anyone you liked?”
“Tama liked a teacher in high school, nya.”
“A guy?”
“Yes, a guy.”
As expected.
“Huh… I kinda wish I could go back to those days. Student-teacher romances are a little naughty, aren’t they?”
“Actually, it was a male student, nya.”
Uh… that’s not exactly what I wanted to hear.
“Did you confess?”
“No way, nya.”
“Huh. Anyone else?”
“Maybe a junior girl two years below? She was cute, nya.”
…This one really has a wide strike zone.
“And you, Shachou?”
“Maybe a classmate… though she already had a boyfriend.”
Ah… so that’s where her obsession with virginity comes from.
“How about you, Eromi?”
“Never really had anyone I liked… mostly just watched AV, I think.”
Ah, so it’s always been about the boobs.
“Figures, nya…”
“Eromi really was Eromi…”
Instead of being shocked, the other two looked almost impressed.
“But after this common sense rewrite, I wonder how it’ll play out? Like… ✕✕✕✕-obsessed high school girls?”
“Well, if you put it that way, Tama too, nya.”
“…I don’t think I could handle two ✕✕✕✕-obsessed loli JKs around…”
Yeah, same here.
