Chapter 10: Professor, You Don’T Understand Him At All

Vessey slept until noon the next day.

After washing, Kolma brought him lunch.

She also brought a message from Snape.

"The professor said that after you finish eating, I'll take you to his office. He needs to take you to Diagon Alley to get something."

Vessey nodded.

He dug into his food.

He had been starved during his time at the orphanage.

They prevented him from eating enough each day, for fear that he would gain weight if he overate.

Finally, he could eat his fill.

However, the original owner's stomach was too small. Try as he might, he could only eat half a steak.

He sighed, put down his knife and fork, and went to Snape's office with Kolma.

Snape had been waiting for him in the office for a long time, and a faint smile spread across his face when he saw him appear. "Come on. We have a lot of shopping to do today, so don't waste any time."

Even if he said that, what parent, afraid of wasting time, would let their child sleep until noon?

Unless they were a shrewd parent.

But Vessey, of course, pretended not to know and immediately nodded, indicating that he definitely wouldn't waste any time.

He even sincerely extended his hand to Snape.

Snape smiled.

But he still remembered Vissey telling Antoya that he wasn't used to being touched, so he tried not to.

So instead of taking Vessey's hand, he placed it on his shoulder.

A feeling of oppression came over him, and Vessey and the others were already on London Street.

"Look, this is the entrance to Diagon Alley. You...

Never mind. If you want to come, just tell me and I'll take you. There are bad guys in Diagon Alley too, and they could easily take a kid like you, new to the wizarding world!"

Vessey felt like laughing.

If Harry knew you'd said that, he'd cry, wouldn't he?

But of course, he couldn't show that he knew Harry's plot, so he nodded obediently and approached Snape.

A faint smile spread across Snape's face.

He led Vessey to the Leaky Cauldron.

The pub owner, Tom, greeted him warmly.

"Professor Snape, are you bringing your students to Diagon Alley for shopping?"

Snape looked at Vessey and said proudly, "It's Lily... Harry Potter's twin sister. I'm here to take her shopping!"

Tom: "???"

Why are you telling me all this?

What's her name?

Wait?

What's her name?

"Is she Harry Potter's twin sister? How have I never heard of her before?"

Tom finally looked at Vissey more closely.

"I still remember Lily Evans. She looks so much like Lily, with the red hair and green eyes. Is she really..."

He said, excited and incredulous.

Snape snorted.

The only good thing James Potter ever did was give birth to Vissey.

As for how to respond to Tom, Dumbledore had already instructed him.

Just tell him Vissey had been frail and in a nursing home since birth, and that she wasn't taken out until she was almost ready.

Tom believed Snape.

He looked at Vissey in awe.

"This child will no doubt be a stunning beauty!"

Snape puffed out his chest. Of course, how could Lily's daughter not be beautiful?

But inside, he felt angry.

It was terrible.

Who would be the lucky recipient of this child in the future?

Although the diary said Vessey was looking for a girl,

it was because he had suffered so much that he hated men. Now that he hadn't encountered anything like this, would some fool take her away?

The thought of Vessey returning with a man and saying, "Professor, you don't understand at all!"

made him want to take out his wand and kill him.

What a nightmare!

He pursed his lips, tortured the future boy a thousand times, and then said goodbye to Tom with a cold expression.

Tom looked at him in amazement.

He couldn't understand why someone who had seemed so happy a moment before had suddenly become so.

After leaving the Leaky Cauldron, Snape finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He led Vessey to the deepest part of the bar.

There was only a deep well and a wall.

Seeing Vessey staring into the well, he said patiently, "Stay back. Don't fall in."

Vessey nodded and stepped back.

Snape, satisfied, drew his wand.

"Look!"

He pointed his wand at a brick in the wall and tapped it hard.

"See? It's right here. Next time you come, just touch it with your wand and you'll get in. It's easy to remember. Did you remember?"

Vessey shook his head.

"I didn't remember."

He seemed to remember counting several bricks, but Snape suddenly pointed at one. How could he remember?

Of course, he looked guilty.

"I'm sorry..."

Snape quickly corrected himself.

"It doesn't matter if you don't remember. I spoke too quickly. I'll teach you later when we get back. If you still don't remember, don't worry. I'll take you next time."

At that moment, a hole opened in the wall, wide enough for a person to walk through.

" "Go this way and you'll be there."

Snape led Vessey to the other side of the wall.

He took a list from his pocket.

"Crucibles, let's buy some first."

He took Vessey to a cauldron shop and bought her a bunch.

"More crucibles, so if one explodes while we're brewing potions, we can replace it!"

But then he started to worry. What if Vessey exploded her cauldron?

He'd be right there with her. Poor girl, having to take such a dangerous subject!

Snape, consumed by worry, had forgotten how he used to call students who exploded their cauldrons idiots.

He'd never felt sorry for injured students, not even believing they deserved it.

And now, he truly thought Potions was a dangerous subject...

It was the height of hypocrisy.

"Don't worry, I'll help you prepare the potion."

"Even if Lily's daughter couldn't do anything, she would help her!

"The cauldronseller,

Amazed,

dismissed the man, who was said to be the strictest Potions teacher at Hogwarts.

Oh my!

Those rumors were terrifying.

Such a kind teacher,

and yet they said he was the Devil?
