Chapter 2: More Questions Than Answers.

This is so weird...

I look around me. The damage around me is quite high, with everything being sand and dust. This is from when I first appeared. I find it hard to remember... A something, something quake? It's what happens when a spirit appears, right?

... It's a bit hard to remember things from the anime, but no one can blame me since...

I just had an entire team trying to kill me moments ago.

...This is kind of surreal. Seeing a lot of people on the ground defeated, with me being the last standing... I was fighting with all of them and won.

Although saying I was the one fighting might be slightly wrong, this body was pretty much in auto-pilot.

... Still, the difference in power was clear. They barely managed to keep up with me, and their attacks weren't able to hold me back for even a second. I thought the AST was the bad guy in that anime, but they are so weak... Or am I not remembering something?

This is embarrassing, but it's understandable. I'm not used to being at this height, so walking is disorienting. Luckily, Bunny caught me before I faceplanted on the ground.

As I take care to not fall again, I spot a clothing shop. This could work... I make my way inside. It's empty, so it had quite the weird feeling like this was off limits, but I ignored it and found what I was looking for... A mirror.

"... I'm really Bronya... and the Herrsher of Reason, huh?"

This blue dress is quite memorable...

I already had my doubts, but it's good to have a confirmation.

I touch the mirror and make faces at it. No matter how you look at it, this is me. Weird... I thought it would give me chills to look like someone else... But it didn't...

What does creep me out is something else... Something really serious.

At first, I put it off as me just being in a bad situation, but I was trying to remember everything about this world while walking over here... The result was less than expected.

Or it's what was supposed to have happened if I didn't feel something pull me away.

In less than a second, my consciousness starts to wane... What is..?

"The signal from her Reiha (spirit waves) is lost; it seems like she disappeared."

Hearing this, I sigh...

I put another lolipop in my mouth; since there is no other signal, this means she didn't teleport... I guess this is the end of today's spacequake, but it's not the end of our job. I asked Reine, who was in front of a computer.

"How much data did we manage to get from her?"

"She is extremely strong and has a great deal of Reiryoku (Spiritual Power), numerical value of 233."

I close my eyes at this; if it weren't for that other spirit, I would be more surprised by this.

"Since she could have done a lot more damage to the AST with that attack, she might be more reasonable than other spirits... Also, it seems like she might be willing to communicate. She tried to talk with them even after their ambush, so..."

... I look at the video on the screen. A lot of cannons appear out of thin air, each aiming at one member of the AST, and in the next moment...

With a single command from her, lazers appear from each of the dozens of cannons, and in the next second, the cameras go offline. Even the shockwave from that attack was strong enough to destroy those, and they were made to be able to survive some impacts. I sigh and order everyone to focus on data collection.
