Chapter 15: Recrusive Race I

After Speed Joker met with Shouji Kisamata. Both of them sat on the sofa in the living room.

Speed Joker had some question in mind about her training. She had about 8 days to be ready for the N9 Class race in Sapporo.

She clasped her hand and said, “I have a request for you.”

Shuji looked at Speed Joker, he nodded and said, “Ask away. I can what I can to repay you within the best of my abilities.”

Speed Joker said, “I have a race in 8 days. So, can you help me train within the time period for me to get ready by then?”

Shouji thought about it. 8 days before the race is quite short amount of time. Not to mention, he didn’t knew of what type of racecourse would it be.

So he asked, “This race your going to join. Anything you know about it?”

Speed Joker replied, “It would be take place in Sapporo racecourse. I don’t have any much of details yet. But, the person gave me hints about the Aurora Comet Series.”

The Aurora Comet Series. Shouji never thought he would ever heard about that series in a long time. He used to be a trainer there with many horse girls who came outside from Japan. Rarely any students from Japan Training Central Academy goes there.

Twinkle Series always had been the pinnacle of the Horse Girl running scene for many millennia. While it does over shadowed Aurora Comet Series, it always had been one of the most toughest Series out of all of them.

He said this with a determine look, “I will get you ready in the Aurora Comet Series. There will be some foreign horse girls there. Even some of them who came outside of Tokyo.”

Speed Joker nodded. This Aurora Comet Series was basically an uncharted race. Any horse girls who came from ungraded, and graded races came into one place. She needed to be ready for anything in the race to be thrown at her.

One her first training with Shouji Kisamata. Speed Joker went to do some squat jumps. She need more muscles on her legs.

Second training was basic stamina control. Speed Joker can control her stamina within her extended reach. This training will put more delicate control of it even further.

Third training was Short Sprint. It trained her final spurt timing and reaction time. The better of her timing and reaction, better of her chance of winning in the final 200 meters.

5 days before the N9 Class race.

Somewhere in the field, slightly far from Tokyo. There was Speed Joker ran through the open field at very fast speed. She already done it multiple times, back and forth to get timed result.

Speed Joker stopped and wiped her forehead. She looked at Shouji, who was comparing times of her laps that he written on the paper.

As he wore down the time difference, and said, “To be honest. Your the fastest horse girl I ever seen. The time matches with G1 race elites in the Twinkle Series.”

Then he asked, “I want to know, what is your type?”

Speed Joker thoughtfully about it. Despite there was four types of horse girls in this world. Only two were very rare.

She read some old news that dated back in early 2007. When there was about three racecourses for Ban’ei Kyoso, who were near bankruptcy due to declining of revenue, and were less popular. That year was not a great year for them.

Until around the summer of that year. There was one Super Draft horse girl who manage to help the three Racecourses that was about to shutdown due to low finds. That Super Draft horse girl won of the people’s heart, her name was Castle Lift.

Castle Lift was the first ever Super Draft type horse girl in Japan. Her performance was beyond what most people expected in their mind. She was also the one who was in the experimental run of carrying a train container on rails, that weights around 80 tons for 200 meters.

After that shortly, Castle Lift retired in 2011. Then a new series was Castle Lift Series was born in 2012. one of the newest one and third youngest in the series of Japan Race horse history.

That Story still was in Speed Joker’s mind, it was still heart warming as ever.

As much she does not know what type of horse girl she was. Maybe she could only speculate one the nearest common one.

“I don’t have an exact answer for it. I would say a Light type,” she replied to Shouji.

For Shouji, this made him a lot more difficult. If she was truly a light type, how come she was this strong in a race, despite the lack of muscle figure on her body.

She was truly mysterious in Shouji’s mind. For now, he need some research of her type. Because Speed Joker believed in herself of being light type, but not in Shouji’s eyes.

“Well, that doesn’t help, you are a bit odd for many horse girl that I trained with. But your definitely not light type, suggesting from the times of each laps anyway.”

Speed Joker sat down and drink some water from her tumbler. Then asked, “Any other ideas what type I’m in?”

Shoji searched on the one type she could possibly in. Was it possible for Speed Joker to be in Light Draft type? Considering it was one of the most mysterious horse girl type in the entire world. Very rare for them to be born from many different countries.

He replied, “I would suggest you are Super Light type, but I can’t be so sure about it.”

Speed Joker tilted her head slightly, and said, “Really?”

Shouji shrug his shoulder.

Despite after the training. She wanted to know her maximum capabilities in running. Because she was also had an obsession with speed.

Speed Joker like things going very fast, she doesn’t care anything in else. Precision was also counted, this also would help her to gain a fraction of a second, does not matter how small the number it was. It would greatly helped her to win a race.

“I don’t know if I’m ready yet. If I back out in this race, it would be such a wuss,” she mumbled.

{And also the person who contracted me? He would be disappointed too,} she continued in her thought.

“Don’t worry. You can do it. I would bet you will win this first race in a breeze,” Shouji said as he finished putting all the time data into the his digital tablet.

Speed Joker rose her eye brow.

“What make you that confident of me wining the race?” She asked.

“Lady Luck told me,” Shouji replied, and shrug his shoulder.

Someone where in a board room. Hotsuke Chizu had a meeting with other CEO companies in Japan, even the one who lead Umastagram Japan, and Umatube Japan.

Hotsuke sat on the chair and looked at the party in front of him.

“I will do the deal on Japan Cup in the Twinkle Series, don’t be so much of a worry rat,” He said to them.

One of the CEO rose from his chair and said, “I m sorry president. But, can I ask you a question?”

“Sure, do ahead,” Hotsuke said, and gave a brief nod.

“I have heard about rumours about you having a new business venture, mind telling us what it is?”

Hotsuke placed his hand on top of the table, and looked very serious.

“You don’t need to know much. Not right now. I’m using my own money for this sake, and didn’t use the Group’s collected funds. In the future, you will see it yourself once its mature.”

As Hotsuke gave his answer to the CEO, other CEO sighed in relief. They went sat back on the chair and said, “I see.”

“Anyway, this business venture is not your middle of concern. Right now, you should all focus on the upcoming Japan Cup. Make sure all sets are ready,” He said.

All the CEO rose up from their seats, and said unison, “Yes, president!”

Hotsuke walked out from the board room. There, he saw his assistant Arian. She adjusted her glasses as she was carried a binder filled with paper.

“More paper work?” Hotsuke said as he look disgustingly on the binder.

“Yes, this paper work are most important one yet. I have done most of them as you asked,” Arian said.

Both of them walked in the hallway, passed many more hard working business man. They both stopped near the lift gate. Hostuke pressed the button arrow that goes up.

Both of them waited there until the lift arrived at their floor.

As they waited, one young man who carried large pieces of paper on both of his arms.

“Excuse me,” he said, as he was carefully navigating through the crowd of people.

The young man saw the lift arrived at the floor, and said, “Wait! Wait for me!”

Hotsuke hold the button to keep the lift gate opened. After the young man entered the lift cabin. The gates closed it self.

The young man can’t see what was in front of him, so he asked, “Excuse me, can you help press the 15th floor?”

Hotsuke pressed the button with the number 15 on it. He looked at the young man, and said, “You are a very hard working young man. What are those paper work for?”

The young man replied, “It is for the Japan Cup later in November. The Marketing crew needed materials ahead of time. So, I went to the archives to get some old designs they can work on.”

The lift stopped at the 15th floor, and gates were opened. The young man said, “Thank you very much sir.”

“No worries,” Hotsuke said, as she looked at the man quickly walked out from the lift.

As both Arian and Hotsuke arrived at the top floor of the building, where Hotsuke’s office was located.

He sat on his office chair and turned on his Office Computer.

Arian placed down the documents of many thing related to Speed Joker.

“You know, the poor girl is probably suffering right now as you rushed the contract,” she said to him.

“She will able to deal with it. It should not be a problem, I have been observing her for quite a while,” Hotsuke replied.

Arian covered her chest with hands, and said, “You like spying on woman everyday? You creep!”

Hostuke widened his eyes and shook both of his arms, and frantically said, “No, no! That is not what I meant.”

Arian went back to her usual nonchalant expression.

“Seriously for your own reputation. You should refrain on doing this types of activities. People might considering you as a pervert,” She said, as she sat down on her office chair.

Hotsuke nervously took gulp, and said, “Yes, my lady.”

After that small talk. Hostuke continued doing more paperwork in his computer.

This time, he was searching a temporary team for Speed Joker join into.

There were many posted team for hire in Uma Team Listing Board (UTLB).

Many team came from different prefectures round Japan. Some of them were skilled in local races, confident enough to join the nationals.

Due to the Aurora Comet Series regulation. Most team needed at least 4 Horse Girls in their team at minimum.

In local races, that was a very tall order. Not much horse girl, let alone some of them join with this high of requirement.

In rare Occasions, some team do join the Series within the Regulation parameters.

Not to mention. In the Aurora Comet Series, they had different grading system, similar to the Castle Lift Series. It graded from A to N class.

A Class, the highest grade out of all of them. B Class, the middle, where many Horse Girls rarely joined. C class, Low-moderate team mostly joined. D class, the lowest Class available; most of them came from different local team prefecture. While the most of the lowest was N class, partially anyone can join in this part.

Each class also had sub-class with performance numbers. Example, Class A0 was the pinnacle. Most of the Top horse girls in the Aurora Comet would be placed here. While N9 was the lowest, anyone can join without an ACJ (Aurora Comet Japan) national license.

Horse girls without any ACJ license were only allowed to get to N5 Class. To further up their class, they need to get the license by passing the exam.

Few things to note. If the A9 were mostly new Horse Girl achieved promotion to A class. Their performance were still sub-par to the mid-range A6 class performance Horse Girls. However, this would only speculate with many record papers through out the Series lifetime history. 

As for Speed Joker, she would be joining the N9 class. The lowest of the lowest in the team.

This was where Hotsuke finally found the right team for her to join.

He smiled and said, “This should do.”
