Chapter 1: A life as a Sankta
Life sometimes takes a mysterious way; that is what I thought.
Like, imagine one day you are playing a game until you fall asleep, then wake up inside the said game.......
That is the situation I wake up in now, and the reason I know this is inside of a game is because the reflection in a mirror shows a young girl with blonde hair, a halo on top of her head, and finally a luminescence behind my back, though the shape is weird since, from what I remember, Sankta wings are supposed to be made of shards of light. Though how their shape is different for each person, it is supposed to be a shard.
Why do I think like that? Well, because if you look closely, the shard of my wings has a crack, though it is not really noticeable unless you pay close attention to it because the color of the crack only has a slightly different shade of light.
But still, I have become a cute girl........
While I want to run away from reality and think it is a dream, the cheek I just pinched still hurts, so it must be real. Though of all the games I play, it ends up being Arknights. Well, most of the roster of my games I play is bad too, so even if I chose another world besides this one, I'm still doomed either way.
If I remember correctly, I am hooked on mobile games, but most of the stories tend to be sad. I mean, Girls Frontline is already dark enough with T-dolls, then there's Chaos Zero Nightmare, which is a whole new level of bad, with the combatants' memories needing to be deleted if they are in trauma and you don't have counseling currency to do counseling.
Well, here I am again thinking about another game while ignoring that Arknights has its own problem with the Originium disease known as Oripathy. While I am glad I was born as a Sankta, so I can at least be sure I can use Originium arts without the need to be exposed to Originium, it still has some problems, mainly the sixth sense empathy.
Why is it a problem? Because when close to another Sankta, you can basically read what their emotions are since they are laid bare, especially with kids. This is a problem since maybe I am too sensitive about it, but I can feel the emotions of the other kids inside this building, and let’s just say it feels weird.
So now I'm holding this feeling that makes me feel uncomfortable because my own emotions are laid bare as well, so the other kids and probably adults can sense it as well, which makes me wonder if I can control this since living like this is really hard for me.
But still, it would be helpful if I could at least use the P.R.T.S. system. Though knowing about priestesses, I should have wished for it. At the very least, I hope I can use the game system since it will help me a lot.
"System open."
Jokingly, I said that knowing it shouldn't do anything, but a white screen appeared in front of me with black words that said
"Welcome back ******."
Well, at least I know I got some bonus from isekai, I guess, so I should be thankful. But still, why is the name in asterisks?
For now, let’s just touch it.
At the moment I touch it, it slowly shows a loading screen, and when it opens up, it shows what should be an operator tab that displays the information of the operator you click, but instead, what shows up is myself. Let’s see what information I can gather from it.
I can see my name, which is different from my previous life name, talent, and my attributes are there, but the places where I can see promotion, potential, module, skin, trust, and how many-star operator are gone. Then my class, subclass, trait, attack range, and my role are blank.
(I can understand why some of it is gone since this is not a game anymore, but for the blank, I can guess it's because I am still young and not in any combat at all.)
While thinking that, I slowly see information on each one.
Name : Alisia
Attributes
Max Hp : 500
Atk : 120
Def : 50
Res : 75
Block :
ASPD :
Skill
Originium Liquid
Passive effect: Every liquid you produce has Originium you have inside your blood.
When this skill is active, it increases the effect of the liquid you have, doubling the power of any Originium that is being smeared on it.
Talent
Originium Eater
Can absorb any Originium from any source to increase the power of your skill, but when the source of the absorb is a living being, you can acquire said living being's power at some price.
Originium Resistance
Originium does not affect your physical health, making you more resistant to any Originium power, but making it harder for you to use any Originium Art.
Well, that is wild, and one thing for sure, it is a weird power to have. I wonder if it is because I am an isekai person that my power is weird, but I have three skills and two talents, so at the very least, if I am an operator inside the game, I am at least a 5-star operator or a 6-star operator.
Though why my second and third skills are blank, I don't know, but my attribute is weird since this is the first time I see a resistance of 75. Even the highest operator I know has a 33 resistance, and she is a saint who has endured some special ritual and training to achieve that, while most operators have 0 resistance.
While I thank you for the talent, it is rather weird. If I absorb Originium using Originium Eater, wouldn't it collide with Originium Resistance? Since from the description, which is short, it says Originium does not affect my physical health and makes it harder to use any Originium Art, I wonder if that means the only way for me to use Originium Art is by absorbing Originium from other people.
But I wonder what happens to the Originium if I absorb it. From the look of my skill, I feel like I can eject it, but I wonder if there is any difference based on what liquid it is since there is sweat, saliva, mucus, and blood, with each being a different liquid after all, with three of them made mostly of water.
Wait a minute, urine and vaginal discharge are liquids as well...
I feel like my future is rather gloomy since that means I can't kiss someone because they will be affected by originium; worst case, they can get oripathy, and worse, I can be hunted since I will spread oripathy at large just by making the other party consume or inject themselves with any liquid I produce.
But thinking it the other way, I can be a saint since I can absorb originium, which, if I guess right, can basically cure oripathy from any person I have direct contact with.
Thinking this hard is making my head hurt; for now, I should go to sleep and hope this is just a weird dream, and the next time I wake up, I'm back on top of my bed.
(Now that I think about it, what timeline am I on right now?)
Thinking about that, I slowly drift into my sleep.
Well, bad news: I am not dreaming at all, so I am in Terra, inside Arknights. As for the good news, apparently, I am 12 years old, which is basically the age when Sankta receive their Patron firearm, which is the Sankta's signature weapon. It's basically a gun, though not every Sankta has one.
Yeah, now that I think about it, where am I? If I am in Laterano, which is the birthplace of Sankta, then I am in trouble since it is a chaotic city. The religion is basically like living in America, where every citizen can carry a gun. Hell, there is even a religion about it since the very first Sankta used a gun as well.
Though since in Arknights it never explains well the history of the Patron firearm's first creation, I doubt it will be a musket. If that were the case, it would be hilarious since in Terra there is no explosive powder that has been made at all. So when the collab character, which uses a real gun, shows up, the information was blocked by Kal'tsit since it is easy to create a normal firearm.
From what I remember, the ammo for the Patron firearm is expensive as hell since it is basically an originium bullet. So basically, the Patron firearm is a shooting wand that expels originium bullets that contain originium art, which is why it is hard to use for people besides Sankta, since their halo processes the information for it, and it is like breathing for a Sankta.
As for why I was explaining about it, well, it is because of my talent, which makes it hard for me to use a normal firearm, and now I am standing in a medical clinic.
"This is the first time I see a case like this as well."
"So what's happening to this girl, doc?"
"Well, to explain in simple terms, this girl is very resistant to Orignium, which is a blessing in today's age where oripathy is rampant outside. But because of that, she has a hard time using Originium art."
"Does that mean she will never use art?"
"Oh no, she can. In fact, from what I see, she is a Wahrsagung type art user, which means she has a very rare school of thought for her abilities. I don't know why she can manipulate Originium; that is for sure. As for the use of art, it is a mystery why she can't do it."
Now the doctor, who is Liberi, is talking to the manager of the orphanage, the director, and I can sense the director is worried since she is a Sankta. But still, I am a Wahrsagung type, huh... If I remember, the only operators who are users of it were Virtuosa and Rosmontis, right?
Still, that explains my talent. But since earlier, I noticed something as well: there is a number next to the head of each person I see. For example, the doctor has 0.05u/L while the director has 0.1u/L. I feel like I have seen those somewhere before...
Oh yeah, it's basically how much Originium they have in their blood. But still, for the director to have more than the doctor is worrying. I wonder if she goes outside the city as well.
"Is there something wrong, Alisia?"
Oh damn, I forgot to control my emotions again.
"Nothing, director. I just remembered that once when I touched some kids, I could use their art as well."
Oh, looks like I said something wrong since both of them are staring at me hard right now, especially the doctor.
"A Wahrsagung user is rare after all, so it's not surprising. But for it to copy another person's art... Alisia, can you still use those arts, or do you need to touch hands?"
The doctor is staring at me very hard right now, and the director is thinking about something.
"Well, I can still use it, but it's weaker than before."
"OOHHH, this is excellent."
Saying that the doctor is standing while looking very excited, which is not a surprise since it is unheard of to copy other people's art. Though I think Amiya can do it, remembering she can copy Ch'en's sword skill in just a few moments. Though I wonder if Theresa can do it as well, remembering she has Civilight Eterna and the previous king of Sarkaz.
(But still, Civilight Eterna is rather a cheat skill as well if you think about it, since it can use any skill because it contains the memories of predecessors. I mean, even Amiya, who can only use a portion of it, is crazy strong.)
"Alisia."
Oh, I lost my thought again, but the director is right in front of me.
"Looks like you are listening now, so since when did you notice this?"
"Uhhmmmm, recently when I touched the kid who had a fever and suddenly knew his art."
"I see."
The director slowly let out a sigh, and when I looked around, the doctor was not here. I wonder if he has gone out.
"For now, the doctor is bringing some people he knows to test how many arts you can copy and what can and can't be copied. So for now, go to the chapel. We will do the test, then continue your firearm training since now I have to order some custom ones for you, as the normal ones probably can't handle it."
Looks like my life will not be getting easier from here on out.
