Chapter 3: Summoner
One thing and another, I started experimenting with the power I got from curing people, and let’s just say there tends to be people having the same power, and if I have the same power, it only amplifies, though the difference is minuscule.
(Still, I thought the pope was Yvangelista XI, but the pope was Ludovico IV instead, which is not surprising since Mostima and others are still teenagers.)
Thinking like that, I slowly wore my outfit, as today is the first test of firearms, where today we used our secondary gun instead of our main one, and mine is a submachine gun that is based on the MP7, though the difference is uncanny.
Since the bullet used is so different, it feels weird seeing no ignition like you do when you watch those firearm videos on the internet. Still, that is mainly because of my art.
Recently, the art I mainly used is Beschwörung and Umwandlung, which creates matter and then manipulates it. Although I was banned from using it around four months ago, the ban was lifted when I showed that I can control its power a bit more now.
Though the main reason it usually exploded is that I used Umwandlung matter manipulation to the extreme and changed the bullet into an explosive one, which I now learned to hold back and not use anymore, though I sometimes have this itch to use it again.
(I kind of understand Deidara's feeling a bit more now; explosions are indeed an art.)
Still, I don't know much about guns, so usually the bullets I create just copy the originium bullet I see, though mine is more effective because of my passive skill, which makes me wonder how much of a difference it would make if I activated it since it is a two-phase skill, after all.
But still, it has been almost a year since my reincarnation, and now I have managed to unlock my second skill, though I don't know why the skill description is making me feel anxious about the future since my first skill is about liquid, but the second skill is.
Originium Lament
Passive effect: For every use of Originium Art, there is a small chance to evolve, doubling the effect of the art itself.
When this skill is active, your next attack results in any art you used previously activating at the point of attack, but it increases the amount of originium in your blood with the scale of the art itself.
Yeah, it is a terrifying skill, but from what I learned using it, basically whenever I used art, for example, to create my bullet, there is a small chance it creates something horrifying instead because the bullet becomes like a living being that can home in to a certain extent toward my target, even if it moves at high speed as long as it is still within range.
Then we talk about its active state, which is even more horrifying since when I landed my bullet on the target, it created the last Hervorrufung art I used, which meant it either burned, froze, or electrocuted the target. This is terrifying; what more, I can use two of my skills at the same time, not like the game where you can only use one skill every time.
While it is good that I don't need to worry about which skill I need to pick, it's bad since that means my skills can stack on top of each other, and this is just the second skill, which is already too much for me, not counting my third skill that I still haven't unlocked yet.
As for the attributes, some increase and some don't. Right now, I have my ASPD stat, which is slow, making me wonder if my class is either a supporter or a specialist because I can attack in various ways, and I can support others with my skills as well.
(Now that I think about it, I never tried Verbesserung art, which lets me enhance my body. I wonder if it's because I'm afraid of that; maybe there is a side effect, but I am a Sankta now, so it should be fine, right?)
Oh, as for the test, I managed to score average while Mostima and Lemuen are on the top as expected from them, while Exusia is slightly below me, which is not bad considering how Exusia always acts like a carefree girl.
For now, I tried to make an auto summon that does certain things like the Summoner sub-class that can act on simple orders, Wis'adel Revenant Shadow, which can use Art by itself without Wis'adel manually controlling it.
"Gya."
Let's just say the experiment is a success, but I feel like it is closer to Kal'tsit Monst3r, which is a summoner that is basically a part of herself that can move automatically like another person. As for the shape, let's just say I was inspired by the owl since I want my summon to be able to fly.
(While I am aiming for an owl, in the end, its shard-like feature can't be helped since I made it out of pure Originium, so I think this is normal.........)
Maybe this is the second skill effect. As for it again, still thinking for the future, I tried to enhance it even more with the first skill using my blood.
"Mama."
(It can talk normally now........)
In fact, the effect is raising in intelligence since it can talk like a child now. What more, it can travel fast. I let it outside of the town for now and let it roam free since it would be bad if someone saw me playing with it in the town, but because of that, I noticed two things.
The first one is that it can eat pure Originium, which basically enhances its power. I forbid it from eating too much in fear that if the Originium is too thick inside, it can summon Catastrophes, which I want to avoid.
The second one, which may be because it was enhanced or from eating pure Originium, is that it basically radiates differently from normal Originium, so when someone is exposed to it too much, they can be inflicted with Oripathy.
(Well, I found out about the second one because the Originium in my blood is rather dense now, as it increased to 0.75u/L.)
For how bad it sounds, Eyjafjalla, who has trouble hearing and vision, has a density of 0.5u/L of Originium in her blood, which is why I'm glad for my second talent. If I didn't have that, I would probably be going blind or deaf, or probably worse, since there is so much Originium in my blood now.
Well, while thinking that, I am curing another patient today, and it's the worst since I can see that she has 0.25u/L of Originium in her blood now, which is going to make another painful thing as well.
Flammetta is observing Alisia from afar with Mostima by her side.
"Still, I'm surprised you are a direct subordinate of Cardinal Er-."
"I thought I told you to never speak my original name in public, Mostima."
"Then you shouldn't have told us in the first place."
"Well, that is my bad since I slipped up thinking you are just somebody in contact with the pope. Though I'm surprised that you are the friend of the Originium Saint."
"Oh yeah, recently I heard of a certain organization called Rhodes Island. Why not invite them so they can take care of the infected?"
"That is mainly because Rhodes Island is still a new group that is mainly formed by the survivors of the Tower of Babel, and you know how bad that organization is, especially the Doctor."
"But it was destroyed when the leader, Theressa, died because of the betrayal of the Sarkaz, right? Besides, if I heard correctly, the leader of Rhodes Island is a girl around the same age as us, so it should be good, right?"
"That makes it more dubious since what kind of organization is being led by a teenager? Even worse, it is a medical company as well."
Flammetta slowly stared at Mostima as they hid before being noticed by Alisia, who was looking around.
"Besides, the infected problem in Laterano is being kept secret. You only know because you have a connection with the pope, but usually, people don't know or keep their mouths shut since this affects the livelihood of the people."
"Yeah, yeah, but where is Alisia going, I wonder? She is being extra careful."
"That is the problem. Since Alisia copied some Art from our scout, she managed to gain invisibility, and what’s surprising is that it is more powerful than the original user, which makes it hard to track her sometimes."
"This is not the first time she has done this, right?"
They slowly tailed Alisia as they noticed she started to disappear, and Flammetta began to pick up the communication device before tailing her by the sound of her footsteps.
"Yeah, what more? She tends to go out of the city around this time as well."
"Oh, Alisia is wild."
"Shoosh, I'm concentrating right now, so be silent."
The two slowly follow Alisia as they finally manage to catch up to her outside the city but stop when they notice something.
"WHA-."
Panicking, Flammetta almost shouts when Mostima covers her mouth as they gaze upon a giant creature that slowly lands in front of Alisia.
"Hey, Flammetta, isn't this dangerous now?"
"Yeah, we need to somehow rescue Alisia from that creature before it does something."
"I feel like the creature is rather tame, though."
Hearing Mostima's words, Flammetta almost shouts out again at how absurd Mostima's thinking is before calming down when she notices that Mostima is right because the creature is rubbing its head toward Alisia so affectionately that it surprises even Mostima.
"I wonder if it will allow me to ride it."
'Wait, Mostima, is it just me, or is that creature staring at us right now?'
'No way, we are too far away from them, right? Besides, it’s probably just your feeli-.'
Before Mostima finished her word, she noticed the creature flying toward them in one motion.
"Well, for the Law, we are so screwed."
"Damn it, Mostima, shoot it."
Flammetta slowly raised her custom grenade launcher, and Mostima was raising her vector as well, but then they stopped.
"Mama, someone is here."
The creature spoke, which made both Mostima and Flammetta more serious as they were about to shoot when they heard Alisia's voice.
"STOP."
Hearing that voice, they couldn't move their fingers like they used to, as if they were being suppressed.
"Sorry, Orga, today playtime is short; you should go back now."
"But Mama, promise."
The creature slowly gazed at Alisia, who was already in between it and Mostima and Flammetta.
"I know, but today you got found out, and remember what I said when you got found out?"
"Hide till Mama said it's okay."
"Good girl, now go back and I will call you when it's time to play again."
"Promise?"
The creature slowly lowered its face to Alisia, which made Alisia slowly smile as she patted it on the head.
"I'm promise, now go and make sure not to eat too much Originium."
"Un, later Mama."
Saying that, the creature slowly flew away before picking up speed and disappeared in a matter of seconds.
"Alisia, what is that?"
"I never planned to reveal it, but I got found out much sooner than I thought; as expected, the size has become a problem now."
"OOIII, Alisia."
Flammetta, who can now move again, slowly shook Alisia, which made her notice them again and slowly rub the back of her head.
"Ahahahaha, I wonder what that was."
But Flammetta just stared at her while Mostima let out a sigh.
"Alisia is too late to cover it up, which explains the chaos that just happened. Now that I think about it, why isn’t any soldier coming here with all this ruckus?"
"Oh, that's because I used mind manipulation on that one."
Hearing Alisia say that, Mostima slowly stared at her as well.
"Well, it was just recently that I got this power. I don't know from whom I copied it, but I can make the soldiers ignore Orga so it can always come to play."
Alisia slowly smiled, prompting Flammetta to let out a sigh as she put her palm on her face and looked at the sky.
"For the Law, this is getting out of hand, Cardinal."
"Oh yeah, is that creature named Orga?"
"Yeah, it is the pet I created a while back."
Mostima's question lifted Alisia's spirits, and she didn't even need to use Empathy to know that Alisia was feeling good.
"You see, when I was in the library, I found something about summoning, and when I tried it, I managed to create one."
"But those summons usually only act on orders, right?"
Hearing that, Alisia slowly looked away, prompting Flammetta to hold her cheek, forcing her to face her as she glared.
"WHAT DID YOU DO THIS TIME, ALISIA?"
"What do you mean? Like this is not the first time? I did nothing wrong."
"Hoho, then should I spill all of the mischief you've done, especially the explosive?"
"What are you talking about, I wonder?"
"Then you'd better spill it, or I will report this to Pastor Rucien."
Hearing that, Alisia started to sweat as she shook her head vigorously.
"Wait, anything but that."
"Then?"
"Well, I might enchant it with my art."
"And?"
"I might feed it a bit too much."
Hearing that, Flammetta let out a tired sigh as Mostima started to laugh.
"Well, it can't be helped. Alright, it keeps growing the more I feed it, so I started to think about how big it can get."
"Wait, it? That thing has a gender?"
"Well, no, but I feel weird calling Orga ‘it.’"
"Ahahahaha, my stomach is hurting...."
"Hahh..... Is there anything else you want to add?"
"Oh yeah."
Alisia slowly grabbed both Flammetta's and Mostima's hands and then cured them, which made them confused as they slowly stared at Alisia.
"Well, Orga is basically a lump of Originium that is denser and thicker than usual, so you both are probably already affected by it."
Hearing that, both Mostima and Flammetta fell silent before they captured Alisia and proceeded to carry her toward Pastor Ruciel.
It was said that day every patient that came for a cure was surprised to see the saint sitting with a board hanging from her neck that read:
"I will not do something reckless again without permission."
