Chapter 4: Magical Girl

It's now the second year of my reincarnation, and I am already halfway through firearm training, but my normal routine is starting to bore me. Sometimes, I find myself thinking about useless stuff; for example, right now, there is a wand in front of me.

(I made it, but I haven't tried it yet. It was difficult since this is literally a mix of every school of art, and if someone found out about it, I would be mad. But let's try it.)

"To Law, watching with originium in my blood, I will come to purify you, Angrosia."

As I said the words, the wand slowly let out a small light that enveloped me for a couple of seconds, covering my body before changing my clothes to something a magical girl usually wears, but the theme is yellow since I have blonde hair.

"Magical Girl Orinite Prime is here."

(Well, this is more embarrassing than I thought, but at least the experiment is a success.)

As for the schools of art I used:

Beschwörung: mainly to create the wand and spawn the clothes that I wear.

Hervorrufung: to use the light that covered my body while transforming and, at the same time, serve as a small barrier to protect me.

Umwandlung: to change my original clothes and save them inside the wand, making it possible to change back without fearing going naked each time.

Verbesserung: to enhance my body with some layers of protection, like the magical girls from anime.

Wiederherstellung: to regenerate from any wounds that may be inflicted on my body while using this form.

Wahrsagung: which makes all this possible in a small way.

(As for why I choose magical girls instead of Super Sentai or Kamen Rider, it's because I am a woman now, and when talking about transforming women, of course, it’s magical girls.)

"OH, Alisia, what is that?"

Hearing that voice, I slowly turn my head toward the door to see Exusia in high spirits; I can almost feel her eyes sparkling, with Lemuen staring at me and smiling.

(Damn, of all the people to see me, it's these siblings.)

"Hey, Alisia, how did you change? What are those cute clothes? What is that light?"

Bombarded with questions, I slowly gaze at Lemuen, but she just puts a hand on her cheek and laughs, which makes me wonder.

(Where did Lemuen the Silent, whose blood runs cold, go? Wait, am I the culprit for this?)

"Well, this is a magical girl wand that lets me transform."

(Well, now that I've been found out, I better test if it works with other people besides me.)

"Want to try?"

I said as I transformed back and handed the wand to Exusia. She nodded with such vigor that I felt like her head might come off.

"I DO."

Well, long story short, it worked on Exusia too. Let's just say I never thought a magical girl outfit would fit her, but I was wrong. The yellow color surprisingly suited her well too, though now there's a problem.

"Alisia, can you make one for my older sister too?"

This is the problem: she is now giving me those puppy dog eyes you often see in shows when someone is begging for something. Let's just say it was effective, since I finished the second one, and I was exhausted.

While creating the outfit is indeed tiring, I also have to design it as well. In this world, there is no such thing as a magical girl outfit, though there are outfits like it that exist as skins for operators in Arknights.

For Lemuen, I based it on those modern-looking magical girls that have a tomboy vibe. I wanted to experiment with how good it would look on her, and let's just say the result was great; Lemuen looked surprisingly good in a tomboy outfit.

"Oh, what is this? You guys are up to something interesting."

The next people to arrive are Mostima and Flammetta. I can't shake the feeling that Flammetta is glaring at me, as if I'm a problem child. I won't deny it; I've lost count of how many experiments I've conducted over the past couple of years.

"How will I report this to the Cardinal?"

She seems to have given up and knows she’ll be roped into this too since Exusia has already gone over to them.

"So, is this your usual 'I'm bored' phase, Alisia?"

Lemuen asks, prompting a small laugh from me. I scratch my head, as this isn't the first time Lemuen has been drawn into my experiments, thanks to Exusia's excitement.

At first, she declined, but eventually, she gave in and joined us, just like Flammetta. I’m grateful for their sacrifices, as they helped me create this magical girl wand today.

"Well, I hope you’re ready to get lectured by Pastor Rucien, as usual."

Hearing that reminds me that with all four of them using it, I can't avoid Pastor Rucien, who will arrive any minute now for the usual treatment of the infected.

"Arrghhh NOOOEEHHH."

Letting out that scream, I slowly give up on my fate as I proceed to make two more wands for Mostima and Flammetta.

Later, I discovered a trend in the training room involving frilly, colorful clothes and decorating guns with frilly ribbons.

"Sister, I wonder what Alisia is going to do next."

Exusia sat in a chair, swinging her legs as she enjoyed her apple pie.

"Fufufu, I wonder about that as well."

Both of them were now sitting inside their house while their parents watched them with smiles.

"Oh yeah, is Lemuel picking up Vector too?"

"Yeah, I want a matching gun with sister, so I chose it."

"Oh, good girl."

Lemuel watched silently as their parents interacted with Exusia. Although she was grateful for how they treated her like their own daughter, she still felt awkward interrupting their interaction, so she often just smiled while watching Exusia.

"Oh yeah, Lemuel, how's the training going?"

As Exusia's father glanced at Lemuel, she slowly smiled and stroked a custom sniper rifle in her hands.

"Well, I decided to switch my main weapon to a sniper rifle."

"Oh, so you can support Lemuel?"

"Yes, Father, since Lemuel is often too upfront, it makes me worried sometimes if I don't keep an eye on her."

"Sister, I'm fine since Alisia is beside me after all."

Exusia puffed out her chest with pride, making her parents laugh as Lemuen watched her warmly.

“Oh, Father, look! Alisia just gifted me this!”

Exusia slowly presented the wand to her father, who gazed at it with curiosity.

“Oh, this is a magnificent wand! Though it’s not a Patron firearm, it looks like a professional craftsman made it, which your father can appreciate.”

While most other races don't use guns due to the complexity of Originium art, her father has a best friend who specializes in making wands for users of that art, so Lemuen shares his opinion.

“Yes, but the surprise isn't over. Look!”

Exusia then proceeded to transform, shocking her parents. Lemuen sighed, contemplating how she would explain this to them and how she would talk to Alisia about it.

Later, Alisia learned that Lemuen was having a hard time with her parents, which made her feel sorry for her.

Inside the chapel, Cardinal Yvangelista XI laughed while Pastor Ruciel facepalmed at Flammetta's report.

"I'm glad she's living her best life, but I'm still worried about inviting Rhodes Island here soon."

Flammetta and Pastor Ruciel exchanged surprised glances at the Cardinal's statement.

"Are you sure, Cardinal-sama? From what I hear, Rhodes Island is led by a teenage girl who's younger than I am."

"Oh, I am aware, Flammetta. While that organization is indeed led by a young girl, she inherited her position from the previous king, Theressa. I understand your concerns about bringing outsiders in, but we need their help. Kal'tsit is there, and their medical equipment is more advanced than ours—that's a fact."

"But Cardinal, I’ve heard they’re constantly on the move. How will you contact them?"

"Oh, Rhodes Island has their ways."

As Yvangelista XI spoke, a figure emerged from the shadows, causing both Pastor Ruciel and Flammetta to raise their weapons.

"Calm down, both of you. He’s from Rhodes Island. If I remember correctly, your codename is Scout, right?"

"Indeed, you may call me that, Cardinal of Laterano."

"Well, there's no need to be formal. I'm just a cardinal and a Sankta, so let's keep it relaxed. How is Kal'tsit doing recently?"

"She's still teaching Amiya while managing the issues surrounding Oripathy and following Theresa's will."

"She's as stubborn as ever, but given her role in the Tower of Babel, that's not surprising, huh...."

Flammetta and Pastor Ruciel watched the conversation between Scout and Cardinal Yvangelista XI unfold before them, puzzled by how friendly the Cardinal was being toward this Sarkaz, as if they were old friends.

"Oh, you might be surprised, but I often meet with Theresa, so I know some of the Rhodes Island operators. Most of them are members of Babel."

After explaining to Ruciel and Flammetta, Yvangelista XI turned back to Scout.

"By the way, how are Ace and Blaze doing? I heard they've recently become elites like you."

"Blaze is still lacking in experience, but she'll probably support Amiya. As for Ace, he cares for Amiya like his own daughter and often helps Kal'tsit educate her on various matters."

"I see. That's good to hear. Now, let's move on to the main topic. Can you discreetly select some medical staff here?"

"Is the treatment the same as usual, or is it specifically for caring for the infected?"

"Ah, not quite. Recently, we had a girl who can cure Oripathy, but during her first attempt, she showed signs of infection. However, those signs disappeared later, so I want to ensure she's okay. Rhodes Island's equipment can further diagnose patients, right?"

"While we can use the recent technology that Doctor Kal'tsit invented, I'm not sure we can do it secretly since the device is inside Rhodes Island."

"So, to diagnose her, we need to go to Rhodes Island, huh... Okay, I'll handle that. Can you head to Iberia? If it's there, I can attend an official meeting."

"While I'm fine with that, what about your standing? From what I've observed, doesn't Laterano not really care for Iberia?"

Hearing Scout's question, Pastor Ruciel started to walk toward him but was stopped by the Cardinal.

"Hey, you're being rude to the Cardinal."

"It's okay, Pastor Ruciel. What he said isn't a lie. Many citizens, including the Pope, don't really care for Iberia, even though we have a friendly relationship because we share the same religion."

"Well, if the Cardinal said so, then I won't say anything more for now."

Scout paused, deep in thought, before turning to Yvangelista XI.

"Rhodes Island is in Kazdel, so the quickest route to Iberia will take two months. Depending on the schedule, it could take up to two years."

"Alright then, I will schedule a visit to Iberia two years from now. I hope we will have a pleasant time, Scout. Please give this to Kal'tsit. While I'm sure she will come, this is just to confirm."

Yvangelista XI slowly handed a black envelope to Scout before gradually disappearing from the chapel, leaving Yvangelista XI behind.

"Pastor Ruciel, you will accompany me and Alisia to Iberia in two years. As for Flammetta, you will stay behind with Mostima and the others."

Upon hearing this, Flammetta stood up, looking at the Cardinal in disbelief.

"But Cardinal-sama..."

"I'm sorry, but the road is dangerous with the recent news about the situation in Iberia, which will likely be in conflict for the next two years. I hope you can stay and keep an eye on Mostima and the rest."

"I... understand, Cardinal-sama."

Yvangelista XI slowly left the chapel, followed by Pastor Ruciel, leaving Flammetta in turmoil over her own feelings.
