Chapter 6: A Dangerous Situation
This Alisia and now i'm infront of Rhodes Island ship and let just said it is so huge.
Like super huge probably bigger than aircraft carrier which not suprising since Rhodes Island is in the category of moving city thought it smaller than the other moving city but it just prove the point.
(While they make this so they can move in case of catastrophe happened but for it to be this huge how do you even enter in the first place ?)
"From here on we will board special aircraft to board since Rhodes Island haven't made a place to board for land vehicle."
(So you meant in the future you plan to add a boarding for land vehicle as well ?)
I wonder where it would be either using something like lift that use somekind of rope or maybe some elevators that you often see on aircraft carrier where they lift the plane from below to the flight decks.
My imagination run wild but i can see Cardinal is smilling at me while i feel like Pastor Ruciel is worried more than usual thought i think that just normal for this guy.
(Well the Originium in my blood should be ok since 0.5u/L is normal right ? well it should be fine since i already forgot the detail while it should show i am a Oripathy patient it shouldn't be that bad where they think i'm a severe Oripathy patient.)
Still now boarding the helicopter which is a suprised since i don't remember if there is a helicopter in arknight thought now we are board the Rhodes Island mothership.
When we disembarking from the helicopter the one who welcome us is rather suprisingly which is Kal'tsit what more Blaze is there as well which rather suprising since Blaze look younger than the one in the game which is not a suprise i guess.
"Welcome to Rhodes Island Cardinal Yvangelista XI."
"Indeed i have come just like my letter have tell you Kal'tsit or should i call your other name ?"
"No need beside there is a kid here so let's just leave it at that and let her go play with our Blaze here as her guide while we talk."
"That is true."
Yvangelista XI slowly gaze at me with a smile as he pat my head which somehow feel comfortable like my father from my previous life.
"Alisia now me, Pastor Ruciel and Kal'tsit will have an adult talk how about you go explore the ship since this is a rare chance to see a moving ship."
"Okay then Cardinal-sama."
"Well then let follow this onee-san."
Blaze somehow in a good spirit as i start to follow her while leaving Pastor Ruciel and Cardinal Yvangelista XI behind.
Alisia began following Blaze as she guided her around Rhodes Island. Although there were certain areas they were not allowed to enter, they explored almost everywhere else. Alisia watched with wide, sparkling eyes, but then she paused.
"Blaze, we've been avoiding that direction for a while now. What’s over there?"
"Oh, you don't need to worry about that, dear Alisia. There's nothing of concern."
"But I feel something strange, like pain, coming from that way."
At this, Blaze fell silent, contemplating whether she should allow Alisia to approach the treatment facility. She hesitated, not wanting a young child to see the infected, but it was clear that Alisia was already perceptive. Blaze glanced at Alisia's head, reflecting on her thoughts.
(Empathy, huh... I've only heard rumors, but isn't it supposed to be effective in Laterano?)
With a sigh, Blaze finally relented and allowed Alisia to explore the treatment facility. As they entered, Alisia quickened her pace, as if she were familiar with the place. They soon approached the isolation facility, where the most severe patients of Oripathy were separated from the others.
(How does this child know about it? But more importantly...)
Blaze blocked the entrance to the Isolation facility, causing Alisia to stare at her intently. Blaze flinched, feeling the weight of Alisia's serious gaze, reminiscent of the looks medical staff give when their path to treating a patient is obstructed.
"Blaze, I'll say this once: please move out of the way."
"I can't. There's something inside that a kid shouldn't see."
"I'm not a kid; I'm already 16 years old."
"You're still a kid at that age."
"Then you leave me no other choice."
As those words left Alisia's mouth, Blaze felt a sense of threat, similar to when she faced dangerous individuals in her youth. What puzzled her was that this feeling was coming from someone she assumed was younger than herself.
"Blaze, move aside."
The moment Blaze heard that command, her body seemed to betray her, and she stepped aside, allowing Alisia to enter.
(Crap, is that her Art? I let my guard down, thinking she's still a kid, but there must be something else inside.)
After a few minutes, concern began to creep in as Alisia hadn't returned. Blaze could hear a mix of joy and panic coming from within the room.
(Damn it, what’s happening in there? Come on, body, move!)
Suddenly, Blaze felt her body regain movement. She rushed inside, and what she saw shocked her: the medical staff stood against the wall, seemingly under the influence of the children's art. But what surprised her even more was finding Alisia.
Alisia's halo and wings were shining brightly as she held a patient's hand. The signs of Oripathy, which appeared as stones on the patient's body, were beginning to disappear, indicating a cure was taking effect.
However, Blaze noticed the signs of Oripathy starting to appear on Alisia's body instead, spreading from her hands to her face. Each time the signs manifested, they quickly vanished, accompanied by Alisia's painful expression and beads of sweat rolling down her cheek.
(I don't know what’s happening, but this is dangerous.)
With a sense of urgency, Blaze ran toward Alisia, realizing that the patient she was treating was the last one, as the others showed no signs of Oripathy anymore.
"Alisia, stop what you’re doing!"
"Oh, Blaze! I just finished treating the last patient. I’m sorry if I was rough with you earlier."
Alisia’s halo and wings returned to normal, and her skin no longer showed any signs of Oripathy. Still, the scene worried Blaze as she examined Alisia's body.
"Are you hurt? Do you feel any pain? What happened to the signs of Oripathy I saw earlier?"
Blaze asked, inspecting Alisia without noticing the tired expression on her face. Alisia was at her breaking point and slowly began to fall against Blaze.
"Oi, Alisia? ALISIA?!"
As soon as Alisia lost consciousness, the medical staff felt their bodies move freely again, as if the control exerted by Alisia's art had been lifted. They hurriedly checked each patient, while one staff member approached Blaze.
"Blaze, I know you're worried, but we need to examine her NOW."
Blaze flinched for a moment before allowing the medical staff to take Alisia away, feeling anxious as they pushed her out of the isolation room. Overwhelmed by the situation, she decided to contact Kal'tsit to explain everything that had just happened.
In the meeting room, Kal'tsit is facing Cardinal Yvangelista XI and Pastor Ruciel.
"Now that the meeting is almost over, is what you mentioned in the envelope the truth?"
"Yes, Alisia, that child from earlier can cure Oripathy. Though I suppose 'absorb' might be a more accurate term, wouldn't you agree, Pastor Ruciel?"
"Yes. From what I've observed, every time Alisia cures a patient, a sign of Oripathy appears on her body before disappearing completely."
"Disappearing?"
"Yes, and that worries me. I attempted to contact you through a scout, but our schedules didn’t align, which is why we are only meeting now, two years after I sent you that envelope."
Kal'tsit begins to doubt the entire situation, but from the expressions of the two of them, she senses they are not lying.
"Since when has she been able to do that?"
"Alisia awakened her power six years ago."
Hearing that answer shocked Kal'tsit as she stared at Pastor Ruciel before turning her gaze to Cardinal Yvangelista XI. Just as she was about to speak again, she received a communication from Blaze.
[Kal'tsit, I'm sorry, but something urgent has happened. Can you go to the Isolation Facility now? Alisia has lost consciousness, and I'm rather confused about how to explain everything.]
[Fine, I will head there immediately.]
“Sorry, Cardinal and Pastor, but something urgent has come up, and I need to take this call. Can I leave for a moment?”
The Cardinal slowly closed his eyes, taking a moment to think before opening them again to face Kal'tsit.
“Alisia has done something, hasn't she?”
At that question, Kal'tsit fell silent, reluctant to answer. However, losing the Cardinal's trust would create a significant problem, and she didn't want to face the consequences later. With a sigh, she nodded.
“She probably overexerted herself while treating a patient she found and lost consciousness again.”
Kal'tsit then looked at the Cardinal with a tinge of anger.
“Again? You mean this isn't the first time this has happened?”
"Hey, you're being rude—"
"No, it's okay, Pastor Ruciel. And yes, Kal'tsit, this isn't the first time this has happened, as my envelope has informed you. While you can blame us all you want, please do so only after you examine that child."
Cardinal Yvangelista XI bowed his head toward Kal'tsit, leaving her and Pastor Ruciel speechless. Kal'tsit, irritated, clicked her tongue and stormed out of the room without saying another word.
"For now, you two stay here until I see what is happening, and I will update you once I'm done."
As Kal'tsit finished speaking, she continued to leave the room, which fell into a heavy silence. The Cardinal remained still, his head bowed, while Pastor Ruciel palmed his hand until it began to drip blood.
Blaze anxiously waited outside the emergency room, having been there since Kal'tsit went inside a while ago.
After what felt like an eternity, the door finally opened, and Kal'tsit stepped out, prompting Blaze to hurry toward her.
"How is she, Kal'tsit?"
"You're being rude, but I understand your concern. She is stable for now; it seems she just passed out from overusing her art."
With a sigh of relief, Blaze noticed that Kal'tsit still wore a serious expression.
"Did something happen?"
"I'm not sure until we check her blood, but it shouldn't be a big problem. She looks normal and shows no signs of Oripathy, though I hope it’s just my instinct."
Kal'tsit then walked slowly toward the lab, with Blaze following closely behind as a medical staff member emerged from the room with a pale face.
"What happened?"
"Doctor Kal'tsit, about the girl."
"What is it?"
Impatient, Kal'tsit urged the medical staff to hurry, and they handed her the file. As she read, her expression grew serious, causing Blaze to feel uneasy.
"What is it, Kal'tsit?"
"The girl has an excessive amount of originium in her blood. I'm surprised she's still alive and hasn't become paralyzed from the neck down."
Blaze was shocked by the news but managed to suppress her anxiety and asked,
"How much?"
Kal'tsit handed the file to Blaze, who examined it slowly. Shocked, she gasped.
"0.75 u/L."
"At that level, most patients are already covered in stone or have gone blind or deaf. Yet, this girl shows none of those symptoms, which is a mystery."
"We need to discuss her situation with both of her guardians, as her case is rare and dangerous."
Kal'tsit then conveyed the news to Cardinal and Pastor, while Alisia, waking up, found herself confused about her surroundings and why she was in bed.
