Chapter 137: Daily Activities
“I am… the Red Queen, an undercover AI sent by PROJECT Corporation to infiltrate Night Corp…”
Kelly slowly exhaled a breath, then looked at the “Red Queen” in front of her with satisfaction. This was one of the abilities of the Spirit of Seduction—using residual data and an approximate framework to construct an entirely new AI.
“I intercepted most of the data the Red Queen possessed. After organizing it, I’ll input it into her mind. For now, let her sleep,”
Lissandra said, glancing at the Red Queen.
“I understand.”
Kelly nodded and placed the Red Queen into standby mode.
...
“Hey, Sasha, do you think Kiwi will come pick you up today?”
V leaned closer to Sasha, raised an eyebrow, and said with a playful grin.
“I did ask Kiwi, but her work is so busy… she probably won’t have time to come,”
Sasha shook her head, sounding a little helpless.
“By the way, V, why do you want to see Kiwi so much?”
“Hmm… I’m a bit interested in Kiwi’s corporation, and I’ve never properly thanked her in person.”
V touched her smooth chin and thought for a moment before answering.
“Interested in the corporation? Don’t tell me you want to join PROJECT Corporation?”
Sasha looked at V excitedly.
“Why are you getting so worked up?”
V blinked, looking a little confused at Sasha, who seemed even more excited than she was.
“Because I plan to join PROJECT Corporation in the future. PROJECT really helped me a lot. Kiwi saved my life, Mr. Roland arranged for me to study here, found housing for my sister and me, and even gave us subsidies and all that…”
Sasha listed Roland’s help one item after another.
V clicked her tongue softly after listening, then frowned slightly.
“Hey, Sasha, have you ever thought about why he’s been so good to you? I don’t think someone who built such a huge corporation in such a short time is a good person.”
Sasha stuck out her tongue. “Of course I’ve thought about it. But I don’t have anything to give in return… except this body—wait, I didn’t mean it like that!”
Seeing V’s expression change instantly, Sasha’s face flushed red as she looked at V in embarrassment.
“Ahem, sorry, that was just a reflex. But you might be right. Maybe he saw your talent, or maybe his conscience kicked in once in a while. Still, judging from what he’s done, he really is a good person to you,”
V said after coughing awkwardly and thinking it through.
“Yeah… no matter what, to me, he’s a good person,”
Sasha nodded in agreement, then suddenly froze as if she’d seen something.
“What’s wrong?”
V leaned over curiously and followed Sasha’s gaze.
A sleek, futuristic motorcycle glowing with purple light sped toward them, then executed a perfect drift and stopped right in front of the two.
“Damn…”
V couldn’t help but gasp. This was literally the bike of her dreams.
“What, not happy to see me?”
Kiwi pressed a button behind her right ear, retracting her helmet, and smiled at Sasha.
“No, no, of course not! I just didn’t expect you to really come, Kiwi. You’re always so busy…”
Sasha shook her head vigorously, surprise and delight flashing in her eyes.
Kiwi raised an eyebrow and said, “That was before. Now… unless something especially important comes up, I’m actually pretty free. Oh, right, I was just about to ask—who’s this? A girlfriend of yours?”
“No, no, no, not at all! She’s V, she’s—”
“My name is V. I’m Sasha’s friend. Do you remember me?”
Seeing Sasha panic, V stepped forward with a smile and introduced herself.
“Oh?”
Kiwi narrowed her eyes and began searching through her data.
“So you’re the girl I ran into on the street that day. You’ve been doing well, right?”
“Of course. I really have to thank you. Without your help, I’d probably have ended up as another corpse under that cyberpsycho’s blade,”
V nodded and expressed her gratitude.
“Well, what a coincidence. Interested in grabbing a meal together?”
Kiwi smiled and invited her.
“Then I should be the one treating,”
V replied without refusing.
Kiwi didn’t turn down V’s offer. Letting her pay was also because she knew about V’s family situation.
Meanwhile, Sasha watched the two of them talk with a completely confused expression. Before she could react, the conversation was already over.
The next thing she knew, she’d been brought to a restaurant by the two of them and had somehow started eating.
“Actually, Kiwi, I’d like to learn more about PROJECT Corporation’s development,”
V set down her knife and fork and looked at Kiwi.
“Huh? You’re already looking into things like that?”
Kiwi looked surprised but didn’t refuse. She explained what could be publicly known, naturally leaving out anything core.
After listening, V nodded. It matched both her own thoughts and her family’s analysis, plus PROJECT’s extremely advanced cyberware and robotics technologies.
It really was a corporation with tremendous potential.
“If you’re interested, I can mention it to Mr. Roland and arrange something. Is there any department you’d like to join?”
Kiwi put down her utensils and looked at V.
V chuckled and nodded. “I am interested. To be honest… I want to join the Counterintelligence Department.”
“Counterintelligence?”
Kiwi froze, clearly not expecting that answer.
That department advanced quickly, but the risks were extremely high—and sometimes you’d learn things you shouldn’t, making it hard to ever leave…
“I’ll seriously consider your idea. If you really mean it, I’d be happy to help,”
Kiwi said with a smile.
V smiled back in response.
