Chapter 17: Their Family Circumstances

Their Family Circumstances

At first sight, he looks both like a puppy or a kitten.

That was Nagumo, but now he had completely become a "cat god."

It's been a week since I became Nagumo's master.

During lunch break, I always buy a drink and eat lunch with Nagumo on the rooftop.

Ayanokoji, who always invited me to lunch, finally stopped inviting me out.

Apparently she was being considerate because she thought that I was seriously dating Nagumo.

"You're late!"

"It's the same time as usual."

With our lunch boxes and tea for two, we headed to the roof and went around to the back of the water tower.

Nagumo greeted me with a bored look on his face.

While we were there, he handed me some coins for the tea.

Although I was just a gofer, I didn't have to pay for it myself, Nagumo paid for it every time.

What's even more endearing is that it's not bullying.

In reality, it wasn't that much of a hassle since I was just buying Nagumo's drink while buying my own.

I handed him the tea in exchange for the fee and sat down next to him.

I remembered that one time when I was sitting cross-legged, Nagumo had told me, "Don't sit like that in a skirt."

"The student council president, the delinquent boy, and also Ayanokoji-san."

Nagumo took his tea away from his mouth and suddenly began to speak.

"Apparently, Ayanokoji-san and Onizuka-kun both come from fairly wealthy families."

I knew both of their parents were earning quite a living.

I remembered that Ayanokoji was a rich girl, and Onizuka came from a big family.

I almost asked him why he was a delinquent when he was born into this family.

I swallowed it hard because I knew he probably wouldn't answer anyway.

"Huh? What about Ijuin?"

If they were childhood friends and the three of them often hung out together, then the Ijuin family must be just as wealthy.

"The student council president isn't rich or anything. In fact, it seems his family worked for Onizuka's."

Is Ijuin helping out at the Onizuka household?

Does this mean that Onizuka has more money and is of a higher status than Ijuin, a third-year student and student council president who is arrogant towards Onizuka...?

The question of how the three, despite their different social classes, were childhood friends was answered.

If the Ijuin family was close to the Onizuka family, it wouldn't be surprising if their children became friends.

"To be precise, it seems that the student council president's father was hired by Onizuka-kun's father."

"Fathers, huh..."

As if he had finished what he had to say, Nagumo turned back to his lunch.

Could their family background be the reason why Onizuka and Ijuin's relationship has deteriorated?

Why did it become awkward even for Ayanokoji?

Is there something going on between Onizuka and Ayanokoji, both rich people?

The more I learn, the more question marks pop up.

"Otome-chan"

"What... hmmp."

When I turned around after hearing Nagumo called my name, a rolled omelet was shoved into my mouth.

"Delicious……"

It was a fluffy and sweet omelet.

"Without sugar, you can't even think, right?"

"…………"

I chewed the omelet.

"I'll tell you everything I know, so go eat your lunch now."

"...Thank you."

Nagumo didn't give a very good impression when we first met, but before I knew it, he had become kind.

I don't know what changed his mind, but I thanked him sincerely and enjoyed the lunch.
