Chapter 4: Other Characters

The afternoon classes also ended without incident.
I had a terrible time during lunch break...
But thanks to that, I was able to learn what kind of world this is and who I am.
I can't just relax in this world of shoujo manga.
If I continue to live my life in a peaceful manner, handsome men will approach me and I will end up dating one of them...
That must be avoided at all costs!
My immediate goal is to smash the love flag!
In terms of the story of a shojo manga, there will probably be a big final event waiting.
No matter what, I don't want to end up with anyone at the last event!
I clenched my fists and pumped my fist in excitement.
I'm not going to create even a moment of a scene that would make those guys' hearts flutter!!
"Um... Saotome-san?"
"Yes?"
A voice like a bell called my name.
A beautiful girl with blonde vertical rolls.
This girl is definitely Ayanokoji Reika.
She must have been a rich young lady.
She is the so-called rival character of the protagonist, but she has a noble yet kind personality without being unpleasant.
I remember that even as a child, Ayanokoji was my favorite character.
Ayanokoji was elegantly holding her school bag in both hands and staring at me with a confused expression.
"Well... you were acting strangely, so I thought you might not be feeling too well..."
Hearing that, I looked back at myself.
As soon as the teacher left after saying goodbye, the girl from the go-home club like me pumped her fist in the air.
Maybe you're crazy. That's probably what she's saying in a roundabout way!
"N-no, I'm fine, I'm fine! Definite fine!"
Ayanokoji rolled her right shoulder and breathed a sigh of relief.
"That's good to hear. Have a nice day, see you tomorrow."
It seemed that she wasn't being sarcastic, but was genuinely worried.
Come to think of it, Ayanokoji was that kind of character...
"Y-y-you too..."
After returning the unfamiliar greeting, Ayanokoji smiled with satisfaction and left the classroom.
"……So cute……"
Crap!
Emotions leaking from my mouth.
I thought, this is no good.
Because I'm a girl now.
I don't know anything about romance between girls.
To begin with, I have no idea what Ayanokoji would think about being liked by someone of the same sex.
This is probably an emotion that should be kept to itself...
"Saotome-san, are girls your love interests?"
"Whaaa?!"
It hit me so hard I thought my heart would jump out of my mouth.
A short boy with sleepy, droopy eyes called out to me from behind without any warning.
His fluffy, curly hair and milk tea color make him look like a small animal.
If I remember correctly, his name was Nagumo Minato.
"Wh, what is it, Nagumo~? What's wrong all of a sudden? If you have any worries, I'll listen."
Putting on a fake smile, I slapped Nagumo on the back,
"Can you stop acting like a gym teacher that doesn't seem popular with the students?"
And he pushed my hand away.
"I mean, were you really that kind of character, Saotome-san?"
Ugh...
When I'm with a man, I suddenly become very familiar.
I don't want to be liked by handsome guys, but I also don't want to be looked at suspiciously and stand out at school.
This is a situation that needs to change.
Nagumo continued, ignoring me as I reflected on my actions alone.
"Something wrong in your head?"
This guy was directly concerned about my head.
Wasn't this type a popular character in a shoujo manga?
I pulled the threads of my memory, but Nagumo isn't the main hero.
He was a character who helped the protagonist he loved and also acted as a foil.
Is this really the attitude of someone who is about to fall in love with me?
"I'll beat you down!"
"Woah, that's scary."
Nagumo purposely acted scared and frightened and left the classroom.
What is he like?
He's just messing around with me.
"Maybe I've met all the main characters just now...?"
The two main heroes, a rival character, and a foil character.
The story will unfold from now on with five people, including me.
I don't remember the main story at all!
I mean, doesn't it usually happen that you get reincarnated as the main character of your favorite work?
