V2: Chapter 76: My Adorable Daughter
In the room, only little Carol sat on the bed, her big, watery eyes curiously observing Liang Di.
Liang Di had been busy working lately and hadn't visited Carol in a long time. Seeing her child now melted her heart instantly.
"My sweet daughter, let Mommy hug you."
Liang Di ran over, but before her hands even reached her, her tentacles lashed out, wrapping around Carol, lifting her high, and giving her a couple of bounces, like tossing rice.
"Oh my, you've gotten quite a bit heavier than before, that's good," Liang Di said, taking Carol from her tentacles and pulling her into her arms, patting her back. "Did you miss Mommy? I'm sorry I haven't visited you in so long. I promise I'll come twice a week from now on."
Carol always seemed very happy to see Liang Di, waving her little hands in the air, her big eyes sparkling with an unusual light, as if little stars were dancing in them.
"Mommy, beautiful!"
Carol can now say some very simple words and phrases. She stretched out her chubby little arm and touched Liang Di's face. "I miss Mommy, Mommy is beautiful, I love Mommy!"
Ahhhhh!!!!
A strange feeling spread throughout Liang Di's body. Liang Di's hands, holding Carol, even trembled.
What was this feeling? I had never experienced it before.
Was it excitement, happiness, or exhilaration?
It didn't seem to be any of those. It was a very strange feeling.
Carol reached out her small, tender hand and gently placed it on Liang Di's shoulder, hugging Liang Di's neck.
Liang Di felt the child's touch, and a warm current surged in her heart. She lowered her head, looking tenderly at Carol, her eyes filled with the radiance of maternal love.
She had only shown this look to Liang Lin before, but it wasn't pure. For Liang Lin, it was more of a possessive feeling, a primal desire. But for Carol, it was a very simple look, a very simple love—unconditional maternal love.
Carol hugged Liang Di tightly, her little face pressed against her mother's cheek, as if trying to meld her into her own body. At that moment, Liang Di felt immense happiness and excitement.
Liang Di's heart raced, and tears welled in her eyes. She reached out and hugged Carol tightly, as if wanting to keep her in her arms forever. Her cheek gently rested against Carol's head, and she breathed deeply, savoring the fresh scent emanating from the child.
"Mommy..."
Carol called out in her sweet, childish voice, and Liang Di's heart melted. She felt tears welling up in her eyes, but these were tears of happiness. Yes, this was the most precious moment of her life as a mother.
However, she had important things to do today. She couldn't hold Carol forever, couldn't stay with her child forever. She had to take Carol to Gladys and Laura's room.
So, Liang Di held Carol in one arm and supported the child's bottom with the other, preparing to open the door.
As a result, Carol hugged her even tighter, clinging to her like a little tail, her little mouth pouting, her eyes sparkling as she looked at her, as if saying, "Mommy, play with me for a while."

She patted Carol's head gently and said softly, "Baby, Mommy has very important things to do. I'll come play with you tomorrow, okay?"
Carol wouldn't let go. She hugged her mother's neck tightly, burying her face in her neck, as if she could feel her mother's heartbeat and warmth that way.
Liang Di gently stroked Carol's head, her heart filled with love and helplessness. She knew her daughter needed her company, but she really had very important things to do today. She had finally made up her mind, and she couldn't just give up like this.
"Okay, Mommy will really come again tomorrow and play with you, okay?"
Liang Di gritted her teeth, made up her mind, opened the door, and tiptoed out of the room.
She was a little nervous the whole way, afraid that Liang Lin would suddenly turn back halfway and see her sneaking off with Carol.
Fortunately, she arrived safely at Gladys and Laura's room.

Gladys and Laura had just gotten into bed and weren't quite sleepy yet when they heard the knocking.
Gladys grumbled unhappily, thinking it was Bellica, and continued to complain.
"Seriously, the head maid is so annoying! She always calls us so late, I can't get a good night's sleep!"
Laura tried to comfort her, "Try to be quiet. The more you complain, the more tired you'll be when you're working."
But Gladys kept chattering.
"Today was better. They didn't knock on the door just as I fell asleep. They knocked before I even went to sleep, so at least I didn't experience the pain of being woken up."
Although she complained, she still had to get out of bed, open the door, and get to work. That's the fate of a poor working woman.
After muttering a few curses under her breath, Gladys followed Laura and opened the door. The moment the door opened, Gladys flashed a sweet smile.

Both Gladys and Laura were stunned when they saw Liang Di.

For a moment, she felt embarrassed; she had completely forgotten what she was wearing, appearing before Gladys and Laura like this.
"Ahem," Liang Di coughed lightly, placing Carol in Laura's arms, and immediately spoke, afraid the latter would ask about her clothes, "Carol is temporarily in your care. Take good care of her."

Laura sullenly pushed Gladys aside, picked up Carol, and returned to her bed. “I forgot to close the door, remember to close it.”
“Oh…”
Gladys retorted as she closed the door, “I’m not a child, why can’t I know? You really are… if you don’t want to say, just say you don’t know, why are you bragging?”
Laura ignored her, remaining silent, and simply hugged Carol tighter.
This is Miss Liang Lin’s child.
Meanwhile, Liang Di.
After taking Carol to Gladys and Laura’s room, she ran back to Liang Lin’s room. As soon as she arrived, she went straight to the large bed.
Thump~
Leaping onto the bed, Liang Di began striking a pose she had pre-designed—the pose she considered very sexy.
A little drum was pounding in her heart.
Liang Di was both excited and nervous, anticipating the look of surprise and shyness on Liang Lin's face when she saw her.
