V2: Chapter 92: A Romantic Moment Like a Wedding

Liang Lin didn't wait for Liang Di to say anything before jumping down.

Having learned that she was going out for a stroll, she hadn't worn a formal dress, but rather a practical knight's outfit.

She leaped lightly from the boulder, like an elegant eagle, tracing a perfect arc in the air. Her movements were so fluid, as if honed through countless practices to achieve such mastery.

When Liang Lin's feet landed firmly in the flower field, she didn't disturb the tranquil beauty. On the contrary, she seemed to merge with the flower field, becoming an indispensable part of it. Her long, soft black hair, bathed in sunlight, shimmered and cascaded like a black waterfall, reflecting the surrounding flowers.

Liang Lin looked back, her eyes filled with unwavering determination. Her face, usually so villainous, now appeared handsome.

A slight upturn at the corners of her lips revealed a carefree smile, perhaps a cold laugh, which looked terrible. But those who knew her knew it meant she was secretly a little happy.

“Hey, Liang Di, you can jump now.”

Liang Lin opened her arms. “Don’t worry, I can catch you.”

Liang Lin’s voice was gentle yet firm, like a gentle breeze blowing through a flower field.

Her voice was always so reassuring.

Just like when she was a child.

Seeing Liang Di lost in thought, Liang Lin assumed she didn’t trust her, so she quickly added, “Don’t worry, this time neither of us will fall. I’m strong enough to hold you tight.”

Why flirt if you’re not going to marry me?

Liang Di blushed. She knew perfectly well that Liang Lin didn’t mean anything by it, but she couldn’t help but feel a flutter in her heart, couldn’t help but daydream, fantasizing about married life with her sister.

“Hurry up and jump.”

Liang Lin waited for a while, becoming a little impatient.

Liang Di snapped out of it and took a deep breath.

"Then I'm going to jump, Sister Liang Lin..."

Even though she wasn't nervous when she jumped herself, knowing Liang Lin would catch her below made her inexplicably nervous. Her heart raced uncontrollably, and looking at Liang Lin's not-so-broad chest, a strange courage welled up inside her. She knew Liang Lin would catch her; this trust made her feel incredibly safe.

Taking another deep breath, Liang Di closed her eyes and leaped towards Liang Lin.

Liang Di was still holding Carol in her arms.

Little Carol was sucking her fingers, her eyes wide open. Suddenly feeling herself flying, she smiled, her eyes crinkling. One little hand reached out in the air, while the other tightly clung to Liang Di's neck—quite a safety-conscious little thing.

Liang Di was wearing a white evening gown, which, like a bride in full bloom, drew a graceful white line in the air. She jumped down laughing, her two dimples clearly visible on her cheeks, her smile sweet, like she had a piece of malt candy in her mouth.

At that moment, Liang Lin was stunned.

One of her outstretched arms suddenly retracted, and she clutched her chest.

Huh?

Why did it jump so fast? It was like I was having a heart attack.

But, Liang Di… her smile was so beautiful, just like when she was little.

Ah… she remembered, and Liang Lin's eyes welled up with tears. Suddenly, Liang Di's face from childhood flashed into her mind—a face that, even with half its face covered in ugly, disgusting scars, still smiled brightly.

Liang Lin admired strong people, people who didn't succumb to their tragic fate.

Yes, even though Liang Di suffered so much hardship and torment, she still survived with unwavering strength, like a wild grass, unyielding to fire and springing back to life. Even if her reasons for surviving were misunderstood by others, how many people who went through a childhood like hers could have survived to this day?

Liang Di's smile was beautiful, but her strength made it even more beautiful.

Liang Lin admired all her admirable qualities. Call her naive and innocent, call her a true saint, it couldn't change the fact that her parents' upbringing instilled in her a terrifyingly upright mindset.

Just as Liang Lin was still in a daze, Liang Di landed.

In the air, Liang Di felt a slight sense of weightlessness, and then she was tightly embraced by Liang Lin's warm arms.

But Liang Lin was stunned; she only had one hand to catch Liang Di, tightly holding her waist. Liang Di's forceful impact sent Liang Lin staggering back several steps, falling to the ground.

"....Yayy, more! More! Hahaha!"

It was Carol laughing.

Liang Lin finally stopped daydreaming and came back to her senses.

"Haha~"

Liang Di was also laughing, her smile even bigger than before, with a silly edge.

"Really, like an idiot."

Liang Lin didn't know why she said that so naturally, and couldn't help but reach out and pinch Liang Di's chubby little cheeks.

This girl, even though she's an adult, her baby fat hasn't disappeared yet. Such a sweet-looking girl, yet she can be so assertive, able to overpower her mature, older-sister-like face—it's a unique kind of contrasting cuteness.

"Eh?"

Liang Di froze.

My Sister Liang Lin pinched my cheek!

Happy!!

Her smile became even more like a silly dog's.

"Cough cough."

Liang Lin woke up, her face flushed, and she coughed twice in a mock cough, then withdrew her hand and turned her head away.

"Mama, your face is red."

Carol's little hand, however, suddenly landed on Liang Lin's cheek.

"Hey! You!"

Liang Lin was furious, yet helpless.

Damn it, she was my own child after all; i couldn't bear to hit her.

"Hehe~"

Liang Di and Carol chuckled simultaneously. Liang Lin facepalmed, completely at a loss with them.

"Alright, get up quickly. What will people think if they see this? There are so many people around." Liang Lin said to Liang Di.

"Oh... okay."

Liang Di reluctantly pulled away from Liang Lin.

"Hehe~ Sister Liang Lin, didn't that scene just now look a lot like when we were little?"

That's the advantage of suddenly becoming a childhood friend. Because you grow up together, you don't develop the sisterly bond of family, nor do you lack any memories or emotional foundation just because you're a complete stranger.

I declare!

This time, it's a great victory for the childhood friend who appeared out of nowhere!

"Hmm, quite similar." The reply was indifferent.

Liang Lin hurried ahead, her steps so fast that anyone who didn't know better would think she wasn't there to stroll through the flower field, but rather to get somewhere quickly.

"Sister Liang Lin?" Liang Di muttered softly, "Why are you walking so fast all of a sudden?"

She quickened her pace to catch up with Liang Lin, trying to walk in front of her.

But Liang Lin noticed her intention and walked even faster.
