V2: Chapter 108: Something's Wrong
Liang Lin really wanted to tell the other person naturally, "Everyone grows up, and I'm no exception."
Besides, I've been through so much; I've grown, so it's not surprising, is it?
However, she didn't say the second part aloud. Saying such things still made her feel very embarrassed.
So...
"I've always been like this, from the beginning until now, I've always been like this."
After saying that, she felt a little embarrassed, lowered her head, and fiddled with her fingers.
Hilary and Liang Lin had lived together for so many years; that was her own sister. Of course, she knew her sister's personality and what kind of "character" she really was.
"Hmm," Hilary smiled, placing her hand on Liang Lin's head and ruffling it until Liang Lin's hair stood on end, "Of course I know how excellent my Sister is~"
"But..."
The tone shifted.
“However, I still hope my younger sister can become even more outstanding; that's what I, as her older sister, hope for.”
Liang Lin was quite comfortable with her older sister's touch and didn't pull away, though she felt a little strange.
“Of course! I know that myself, and as for my understanding of swordsmanship, one day I will definitely surpass you, Sister.”
Liang Lin raised her eyes, her gaze filled with determination. She pursed her red lips and nodded vigorously to Hilary.
“Okay, Sister believes in you.”
Hilary patted her head again.
“But, little sister, don't you think you've already surpassed me in swordsmanship?”
Liang Lin was taken aback.
Ever since Octaville left without saying goodbye, Hilary hadn't gotten out of bed. It wasn't a physical illness, but lovesickness. She spent all her time holed up in bed, staring blankly out the window, completely listless.
From that moment on, Hilary never raised her sword again, remaining bedridden and cared for by servants. Liang Lin never saw her sister on the training field again.
At that time, she hated Octaville.
"That guy, she's such a heartless bastard! I really don't understand why my sister was so heartbroken over her, and for so long, so deeply."
Liang Lin cursed Octaville silently every day, feeling sorry for her sister, but there was nothing she could do. She didn't know where Octaville had gone.
"Really?"
Liang Lin wasn't sure. She stared into Hilary's eyes and asked again, her tone uncertain, "Sister, do you really think my swordsmanship has surpassed yours?"
Hilary nodded vigorously.
"From a very early age, I knew you were a natural talent for swordsmanship. From the moment you picked up a sword, I knew that one day you would surpass me."
Was this affirmation from her sister?
Liang Lin's expression was somewhat dazed.
In her heart, her older sister was the most powerful swordsman in the world. Now, she was affirmed by the most powerful swordsman in her heart, and a strong sense of joy spread through her, but she couldn't express it.
Instantly, her face flushed red, looking like a ripe apple.
"Ahem."
Liang Lin coughed lightly twice, covering her embarrassed blush.
"I know, Sister, then I will continue to work hard."
She hesitated for a moment, but finally said, "I will definitely not let you down."
"Okay."
Hilary, of course, believed in her younger sister; she was the sister she had watched grow up.
On the other side.
Liang Di and two other more senior magicians in the Magic Tower, after taking a potion with significant side effects, began taking turns drawing teleportation arrays.
"Sigh, I'll be bedridden for the next few days again."
An older-looking magician complained incessantly as he drew the array.
“If you ask me, Miss Liang Di, you shouldn’t be so soft-hearted. If you had killed Miranda earlier, none of this would have happened.”
Liang Di understood, of course, but she had no choice; after all, it was Donald’s order.
“It’s not that I didn’t want to kill her, it’s that the old man of the Langwendi family disagreed.” Liang Di didn’t try to make excuses; she spoke the truth. “I still don’t want him to get hurt. After all, Donald is the only blood relative I have in this world.”
She automatically ignored the bedridden Auston. That guy didn’t deserve to be her father.
Yes, what kind of father would want to kill his daughter because of his own selfishness? Such a person doesn’t deserve to live as a father in this world.
“Sigh.”
Although the magician didn’t understand, he couldn’t say anything more and quickly drew a teleportation circle.
“However, we don’t know if Miranda is in any significant danger.” Liang Di glanced at the magic crystal ball again. She noticed Miranda wandering aimlessly around the seaside town, unsure of her intentions.
Prescott followed behind her, constantly observing Miranda’s movements within the magic crystal ball.
“Something’s definitely up. She seems to be doing nothing, but I feel…” Prescott touched his chest, feeling his heart pounding erratically. He frowned, “I feel something’s wrong. My heart is racing.”
The first teleportation circle was completed.
Liang Di, Prescott, and three other experienced magicians stood in the center of the circle.
A flash of white light, and they were in another city.
What followed was an endless process of drawing teleportation circles.
Just as they were drawing the sixth teleportation circle, Prescott, holding the magic crystal, suddenly exclaimed, "She's heading towards the beach! That, that direction, towards the wall!"
Everyone froze, turning to look at Prescott. Except for the one drawing the teleportation circle, everyone else returned to the magic crystal. The magician drawing the circle quickened his pace; almost instantly, beads of sweat appeared on their foreheads.
Getting close to the wall was no good.
"She's just an ordinary person. She'll be stopped by the soldiers. Aren't there many Soteland Empire soldiers on the beach? They'll maintain order and prevent ordinary people from approaching."
But Liang Di hesitated, "Do you really think the Soteland Empire soldiers are reliable?"
This caused another moment of stunned silence.
Liang Di continued, "What kind of people are the Soteland Empire? Others may not know, but we certainly do. As long as you give them some money, or even… tell them your identity, that you're a noble… Boom, everything is resolved!"
