V2: Chapter 116: A Different Sense of Restraint
“Oh…so that’s how it is? Sister Liang Lin,” Liang Di looked at her with a half-smile, “I thought you were concerned about me.”
“How could I possibly be concerned about you?!” Liang Lin stubbornly denied it, “I’ve already explained to you, either I just found it by accident, or, or by accident… in short, by accident!”
That night, Liang Lin had a dream.
In the endless darkness, she slowly opened her eyes. She found herself in an unfamiliar space, surrounded by thick fog, as if she were in a vast dream.
At the beginning of the dream, she stood on a desolate plain. The ground was composed of an unknown black substance, as if it had been corrupted by some evil force.
In the distance, a huge stone tablet stood in the center of the plain, covered with strange symbols and patterns. Liang Lin tried to approach the stone tablet, but every step was incredibly difficult, as if an invisible force was hindering her.
Just then, the surrounding mist began to gather, forming blurry figures. These figures gradually became clearer, transforming into various bizarre creatures. Some had multiple eyes, some had twisted and deformed bodies, and others emitted piercing screams.
"This is… what Liang Di called Tentacle Monsters."
Having seen it many times before, Liang Lin wasn't surprised. However, a deep-seated fear made her tremble all over.
These creatures began to approach Liang Lin, their eyes filled with greed and desire.
Liang Lin knew this was a dream, but her legs felt as heavy as lead. She knew she couldn't escape this terrifying dream, and of course, Liang Lin wasn't the type to run away.
Even if she could escape, she would face it bravely.
She had practiced countless times by the sea; how could she possibly fail?
But why did her body feel so heavy?
Suddenly, a gigantic tentacle emerged from the mist, lunging at Liang Lin.
She instinctively dodged, but the tentacle was relentless, relentlessly pursuing her. Liang Lin strained with all her might and finally managed to evade the tentacle's attack. But then, even more tentacles emerged from all directions, surrounding her completely.
Liang Lin felt as if she were being stared at by countless eyes, eyes filled with evil and madness. She felt an immense pressure bearing down on her from all sides, as if to crush her.
Something was wrong, something was really wrong.
She hadn't experienced anything like this at the beach, so why was this happening? Could it be because she was dreaming?
Beside her lay a long sword.
Suddenly, a tentacle lashed out at Liang Lin. She quickly dodged, but the tentacle was incredibly fast, almost grazing her cheek. Liang Lin was terrified; these tentacle monsters were far more powerful than she had imagined.
Something is wrong, very wrong.
She quickly adjusted her breathing, focused her mind, rolled over, picked up the longsword beside her, and prepared to counterattack.
However, when she swung the sword at the tentacles, she found that her blade sliced across them as if striking soft rubber, unable to cause any damage whatsoever.
Liang Lin's heart sank; she knew she had fallen into a disadvantageous position. Those tentacle monsters seemed to possess inexhaustible power; each attack left her feeling powerless. Her steps began to falter, and her breathing became rapid.
Just then, more tentacles surged in from all directions. They enveloped Liang Lin like a black torrent. She felt herself bound by an immense force, unable to move. She struggled and cried out, but in the boundless darkness, her voice was so weak.
This feeling is too real; is it really a dream?
The tentacles began to tighten their grip, and Liang Lin felt her breathing becoming increasingly difficult. She struggled desperately to break free, but each attempt ended in failure.
This doesn't feel like a dream at all!
In the dark abyss, Liang Lin was tightly bound by tentacles. These cold, slippery tentacles, like icy chains, mercilessly bound her. Her body was immobilized; she could only feel the stickiness and coldness left on her skin by the tentacles.
At first, the tips of the tentacles gently pierced her skin like fine needles, bringing a strange numbness. But as the tentacles tightened and writh, the numbness gradually transformed into sharp pain, as if countless sharp knives were cutting through her muscles and nerves.
The pain surged like a tide, rapidly spreading from the areas bound by the tentacles throughout her body. Every inch of Liang Lin's skin trembled; her body writhed in agony, but the tentacles, as if alive, bound her tightly, giving her no chance of escape.
Her breathing became rapid and labored, as if even her breath was a silent struggle against the tentacles. She wanted to scream, but the sound was drowned out by the pain in her throat, only weak groans escaping her lips.
As time passed, the pain became increasingly unbearable. Liang Lin felt as if her body was being torn apart, her consciousness gradually blurring in the agony. She felt her life being mercilessly devoured by these tentacles, her soul struggling and crying out in the darkness, but no one could hear her.
Finally, when the tip of a tentacle pierced her heart, she felt an indescribable, excruciating pain spread throughout her body. It was a pain as if she were being burned by fire and pierced by ice; her heart stopped beating instantly.
In her final moments, Liang Lin's consciousness sank into chaos; she felt herself being swallowed by endless darkness, never to escape.
"Liang!"
"Liang Di!"
Liang Lin instinctively called out this name.
Moonlight filtered through the gaps in the curtains. Liang Lin awoke suddenly from a nightmare, her pajamas soaked with sweat, her face ashen.
Her heart pounded like a drum, trembling violently, as if it would burst from her chest. Her hands gripped the blanket tightly, her fingertips white from the force. Her eyes were filled with terror and unease, for she had just escaped an endless nightmare.
She gasped for breath, trying to calm the fear within her. The scene from the nightmare still echoed in her mind—those cold, slippery tentacles, relentlessly binding her, dragging her into endless darkness. That feeling of being bound and swallowed up still lingered in her mind even after waking.
It wasn't like Liang Di's flirtatious entanglement; this was a brutal, deadly restraint.
"Sister Liang Lin!"
"What happened!?"
