V2: Chapter 118: You're Kidding Me!
It's normal to be misunderstood. After all, Liang Di has been doing this kind of thing for a while now, and her lust for Liang Lin's body isn't new either.
"No, no, sister, I didn't mean anything by it." Liang Di waved her hand. She was trying to establish her image as a respectful, pure, and cute person. How could she not restrain herself?
"If, if you're worried, sister Liang Lin, then I'll stay with you on the sofa next your bed. I'm afraid you'll continue having nightmares." Liang Di tried her best to maintain her persona.
About two years ago, she never imagined she'd be like this. She, who always mocked Octaville for being henpecked, was now the henpecked one herself.
Uh.
Her politeness and courtesy made Liang Lin feel embarrassed.
"You should go back to your room. I'm fine." She softened her tone, sounding much gentler than before.
But Liang Di insisted on staying, and grabbed a thin blanket, preparing to sleep on the sofa.
Now, Liang Lin was even more embarrassed.
"Ahem."
Looking at Liang Di, who was curled up in a small ball on the sofa, she awkwardly began, "If you're like this, and someone sees you, they'll think I'm bullying you."
"No one will see, Sister Liang Lin, I..."
Liang Di hadn't finished explaining.
Liang Lin interrupted her.
"Come sleep in my bed, but don't get too close. Your little blanket will be the boundary; just don't cross it."
Wasn't this a compromise of love?
Liang Di's eyes lit up at these words. Normally, she would have been as happy as a puppy, running over and plopping down on the bed. But now, she was a mature young woman. As a mature woman, she should be more reserved.
"This, this isn't quite right, Sister Liang Lin..." Liang Di stammered, but one foot was already on the ground, ready to dart to the bed like an arrow.
Liang Lin: "?"
Okay, I'm giving you a way out, and you're not taking it? Have I really become more patient lately?
"Oh, then sleep wherever you like, it's really not a good idea." Liang Lin rolled her eyes, then lay down on the bed, ignoring Liang Di.
Liang Di: "?"
Huh?
This isn't what I expected. Shouldn't you have tried to persuade me again? Shouldn't you have advised me to go to bed? Why did you just lie down like that? Liang Lin isn't playing by the rules again, sob sob (sad little dog expression).
"I, I didn't say I wasn't going to sleep on the bed... I'm just, just, a little embarrassed. I, I'm going to sleep on the bed, Liang Lin."
After saying this, she stopped pretending to be reserved, grabbed the blanket, and ran to the bedside, jumping heavily onto it.
A subtle smile appeared on Liang Lin's lips. Not only did Liang Di not notice, she herself was completely oblivious.
“Put that little blanket between us, then go get another blanket.”
“Can’t I share a blanket with Sister Liang Lin?” Liang Di asked pitifully, peeking out.
Liang Lin didn’t look at her, turning over to face away from Liang Di.
“Don’t push your luck. Letting you sleep in bed is my bottom line.”
“Okay…” Liang Di pouted.
Although she was very unwilling and wanted to rush over and hug her sister’s soft waist, Liang Di still managed to restrain herself. She knew that a moment of impatience could ruin everything.
Once I win Liang Lin over, I can hug her however I want. Why put up with this humiliation? I will endure it for now; I'm sure I will have the last laugh and win the beauty’s heart.
Thinking this, she obediently spread the little blanket she was carrying between them. After laying out the blankets, she quietly lay down, facing her sister's back.
Honestly, Liang Lin is so stingy! Not only will she not let me hold her to sleep, but she won't even let me see her face. I was hoping to sleep looking at her sister's face, but now that's hopeless.
"Goodnight."
Liang Lin suddenly spoke.
"Ah!"
Liang Di, who had been sulking, suddenly jolted, then revealed a sweet smile.
"Goodnight, Liang Lin~"
That's great! Tonight, with Liang Lin saying goodnight, my dreams will definitely be sweet and fragrant.
The next morning
"Hey, kid, you're dead."
This was the first thing Liang Lin said to Edwin after seeing him.
Edwin: "?"
First of all, I didn't offend anyone. Secondly, why are you cursing me?
"Your horse is dead!"
Edwin really wanted to kick the other person, but remembering the loving 'pats' on the face Liang Lin had given him before, he silently lowered his raised leg and stood properly, while giving a mild insult. However, he still glared fiercely at the other person, his eyes almost bulging out of their sockets.
"Oh, you're right."
Liang Lin shrugged, indifferent. She wasn't actually insulting him; she was simply telling him that his mother had died.
"But your mother really did die~"
Liang Lin smiled mischievously, teasing the foolish illegitimate son before her.
Edwin was so angry he cried. He sobbed and looked around for anyone who could stand up for him. Normally, he would have rushed into his mother Miranda's arms, but Miranda was nowhere to be found.
Yesterday, he saw his mother die, turned into a dummy, and then had his memory erased. Therefore, he had no recollection of his fake mother's death. With his mother not nearby, and being such a small child, he didn't dare to confront Liang Lin directly. So, he resorted to crying and screaming to attract the attention of the maids and servants—his usual trick.
Normally, everyone in the manor would have indulged him. Everyone knew he was the most favored youngest son in the Langwendi household.
But today was different. Everyone knew that the future heir to the Langwendi family, the future head of the household, would undoubtedly be Liang Di. And Liang Di had always been Liang Lin's shadow.
Liang Di's love for Liang Lin was undisguised; everyone could clearly see that whenever Liang Di had free time, she would be around Liang Lin.
Therefore, faced with Edwin's wailing, everyone lowered their heads and went about their business, ignoring him and offering no comfort.
Gradually, Edwin's crying subsided.
Why wasn't anyone coming to comfort me?
He didn't understand, and was even a little scared.
Just then, he saw Donald.
