V2: Chapter 129: Stop Fighting!
"?"
So scary, so scary, so scary!
Liang Lin, her face filled with terror, frantically moved towards Liang Di.
Gael approaching her was even more disgusting to her than a huge, slimy tentacle monster coiling around her.
Damn it, Liang Di, move over there! He's coming closer! He's coming closer! It's disgusting!
Liang Lin turned her head in horror, glancing at Gael, and met his slightly seductive eyes. Perhaps because Liang Lin was looking at her, Gael actually winked at her.
Liang Lin: "....."
She felt like her eyes had been brutally raped.
The thought of a man flirting with her made her want to vomit. Both physically and psychologically, she was attracted to girls, and the thought of a man being interested in her made her think that man was a pervert.
"You know what? Liang Di, just now, he actually winked at me."
Liang Lin's body stiffened slightly, tears welling in her eyes, her gaze filled with a plea for help.
Liang Di glanced past Liang Lin at Gael, their eyes meeting. Gael was startled, not expecting Liang Di to look at him. However, his reaction was quick; he immediately flashed what he thought was a very attractive smile.
Liang Di: "...that's right..."
Liang Di fell silent, her face turning a deep purplish-red.
But... for my Sister Liang Lin, I'm willing to sacrifice myself!
"Sister Liang Lin, let's switch seats, I'll sit over there." Liang Di placed her hand in her sister's.
The voice wasn't too loud, but Gael heard it perfectly. Then, combining this with the look Liang Di had given him earlier—a look of inquiry—Gael felt an instant realization.
Why switch seats? Wasn't it because she was jealous?
Her nonchalant attitude upon first meeting was merely a ploy to attract my attention. Other noble ladies had used similar tactics on me before, nothing more than a petty game of playing hard to get.
Thinking this, Gael's mood instantly improved, even his smile became more genuine.
"No, you can't sit next to him!" Liang Lin said, slightly agitated.
The thought of Gael becoming lustful towards Liang Di made her feel that she'd rather endure it herself. The idea of Liang Di complaining about Gael's greasy eyes and smile made her even more miserable; she'd rather suffer here.
Her voice was rather loud, drawing strange looks from many around her, including Gael. However, his surprise was fleeting, quickly followed by a look of understanding.
Sigh~ She didn't have to fight over sitting next to me, did she? Sigh~ I knew it; women were always saying one thing and meaning another.
"It's alright, ladies, you don't need to argue over something like this," Gael said with a smile. "I have a good idea."
Liang Lin and Liang Di both looked at him.
Gael smiled smugly, raising his index finger.
"I can switch seats with Miss Liang Lin, that way everyone can have their favored seat."
"....."
The sudden silence was the worst thing.
If Gael and Liang Lin switched seats, it would mean Gael was sitting between Liang Lin and Liang Di. Between disgusting Liang Lin and disgusting Liang Di, he chose equality for all, disgusting both of them together.
"No need, Your Highness," Liang Di said, barely suppressing a laugh. Although disgusting, she found it amusing, thinking Gael was a joke.
So, she whispered in Liang Lin's ear, in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Do you think this guy might think we both like him, which is why he made such an outrageous suggestion?"
Liang Lin stole a glance at Gael; she no longer dared to turn her head to look at him, afraid of seeing that horrible smile again.
"Hmm, I think that's possible too. Ugh, it's really disgusting..."
The two of them were on the same page, one of the few times they agreed.
"Sigh~"
Gael sighed and shook his head, lamenting the two women's hypocrisy.
Hypocritical women are best avoided~
Throughout the circus, Liang Lin and Liang Di barely watched the whole thing, busy whispering and gossiping about Gael.
It was then that Liang Lin finally realized why those noble ladies liked to hold tea parties in their spare time, gossiping about all sorts of things and complaining about certain people.
It turns out, secretly complaining about someone you dislike is so satisfying, especially when the person you're complaining about is nearby.
It feels amazing!
After the circus performance.
“Miss Liang Di, Miss Liang Lin, let me take you home.” Gael was in high spirits and his demeanor became even more elegant.
“No need, Your Highness. My sister and I still need to check on our family's shop, so we won't ride in the same carriage as you.” Liang Di declined directly.
Gael didn't insist.
However, before leaving, he turned back to look at the two sisters.
“After I leave, you two must not quarrel, and you must not fight, okay?”
After saying that, he looked at Liang Lin with concern, “Miss Liang Lin, I know your swordsmanship is very good, but sisters should still be more restrained.”
Liang Lin: “?”
Confused.
Then, Gael looked at Liang Di, “Miss Liang Di, Miss Liang Lin is, after all, your older sister. I know you are very smart, but you should use your intelligence in the right way.”
Liang Di: “?”
Stunned.
After saying this, Gael sighed, got into the carriage, and waved to Liang Lin and Liang Di.
"See you next time, ladies. I had a very happy day."
His expression was still worried.
"Gurgle..."
The carriage drove away, kicking up dust.
Liang Lin and Liang Di looked at each other, almost simultaneously exclaiming, "Wait, is he sick?"
"What kind of look was that?"
"I don't know, it was kind of disgusting."
"It's okay, we finally got rid of him. We don't have to put up with him anymore."
"Yeah, being with him for so long, I feel like my brain is being affected."
Inside the carriage.
Gael rested his head on his hand, looking sadly out the window, and sighed softly again.
"Sigh~"
"I really don't like seeing beautiful young ladies fighting over me. They always act like they're deeply in love in front of me, but behind my back, they sabotage each other. Sigh~ I understand them, although they have their reasons, right? Ladies who pursue love deserve respect."
He was talking to himself, while outside the carriage, the coachman, cracking his whip, stared blankly.
"Damn it, if it weren't for the generous amount of gold coins I got..."
"I wouldn't want to crack this whip at all."
"..."
Anyone could see that Liang Lin and Liang Di disliked Gael. But Gael couldn't see it, always self-satisfied, believing these sisters secretly loved him. One was playing hard to get, the other was genuinely arrogant.
Back at the palace.
"How did it go, Gael?" the king asked.
“Everything is fine, Father,” Garr hesitated, then continued, “except… um…”
“Speak.”
“It’s just that Miss Liang Di came with her sister. I suspect her sister requested to come along. Miss Liang Di is rather docile and didn’t want to argue, so she agreed.”
“Oh?” The King raised an eyebrow. “Her sister’s name is Liang Lin, right?”
Gael nodded.
“Liang Lin seems somewhat unaware of her place, daring to steal this position. But… that’s very much in line with her villainous nature; she certainly deserved it.”
Gael sighed, rubbing his forehead. “Sigh~ I really don’t want to see such a scene of sisters killing each other.”
“Alright, I understand. You can go back now.” The King waved his hand dismissively.
After Gael left, he stroked his chin, narrowing his eyes.
“Liang Lin, huh…”
“.... She's easy to handle.”
