V2: Chapter 191: If I Die, Will You Die with Me?

“Liang Di, listen to me. This time, you must listen to me.”

“Liang Di, remember, I'm not that sixteen-year-old child. This time, you must listen to me.”

Liang Lin pressed down on Liang Di's shoulders, her eyes flashing with determination.

Liang Di wanted to say something more.

“Liang Di, if something happens to me, then I'll invite you to die with me, okay? We... die together?”

Liang Lin wasn't sure if these words would move Liang Di, but she said them anyway. She had known Liang Di for five years and understood her personality.

If it was something like dying together, it would definitely move her, right?

Sure enough.

A blush crept onto the girl's fair skin, like a peach blossom just beginning to bloom in the morning light, delicate and shy. That blush spread from her cheeks to her ears, even her earlobes were tinged with a faint pink, revealing her inner unease and shyness.

She gazed at Liang Lin with tender affection.

Liang Di's eyes were lowered, her long eyelashes fluttering gently, like butterflies about to take flight. She secretly lifted her eyelids, quickly glancing at the soldiers watching the scene, then swiftly lowered her head again, her shy demeanor evoking a tender affection.

Liang Di's hands unconsciously intertwined, her fingers gently caressing each other, as if searching for some kind of comfort. Her lips were slightly pursed, a faint smile playing at the corners, a smile that held a hint of shyness, a hint of expectation, and a touch of girlish innocence and beauty.

At this moment, she seemed to become the gentlest and most moving scenery in the world, drawing people in without hesitation, yet fearing to disturb this tranquility and beauty.

"Okay, Sister Liang Lin, if you die, I will definitely die with you, I... love you!"

Ah...

This burning love, like the blazing midday sun in summer, intense and dazzling. It was a flame burning deep within their souls, unquenchable and unhideable.

In this love, every glance seemed to pierce the fog of the heart, reaching the deepest recesses of the other's soul. They shone with a fervent light, like the brightest stars in the night sky, guiding their hearts tightly together, inseparable.

Liang Lin raised her hand and stroked Liang Di's cheek. A jolt, like an electric shock, shot from her fingertips to her heart, stirring ripples. That warmth, that flutter, caused waves to surge in their hearts, lingering for a long time.

This love, like oil poured on a raging fire, was intense and overwhelming.

"Liang Di..."

Perhaps, on the perilous battlefield, people are more likely to develop profound emotions. In this environment, with life and death uncertain and immense pressure, the relationship between the two became especially close and real.

"Liang Di, I love you too."

The world seemed to stand still.

In this gentle and tranquil moment, Liang Lin bent down and gently approached Liang Di. Their hearts quickened unconsciously, and an indescribable sweetness and nervousness filled the air.

Liang Lin mustered her courage and gently brushed aside the strands of hair on Liang Di's forehead with her slender fingers, a gesture full of tenderness and care.

Then, she slowly lowered her head and gently touched Liang Di's forehead with her lips. It was a shy and innocent kiss, unspoken yet more powerful than a thousand words.

This was probably one of the few times Liang Lin initiated a kiss.

At that moment, time stood still, everything around them became blurred and distant, leaving only the two of them, lost in this pure emotion.

A faint blush returned to Liang Di's cheeks, a mixture of shyness and happiness. Her eyes sparkled with tenderness, determined to etch this feeling forever into her heart.

All around,

As this scene unfolded, the previously noisy and chaotic surroundings were enveloped by an invisible force, instantly becoming eerily quiet. The clamor of the people gradually faded, leaving only the gentle echoes of the pure emotions between the girls.

“Holy crap, what did I just see?”

“I saw it, holy crap!!!”

“I knew those two were up to something…”

After the silence came a fierce uproar.

“Liang Di, I’m leaving.”

Liang Lin ruffled Liang Di’s hair, revealing a rare, gentle smile.

Under the gray sky, the dilapidated palace stood like a sleeping giant amidst the desolate ruins, its walls weathered and its former glory gone.

Just then, the rapid, resolute sound of hooves shattered the surrounding silence. Liang Lin, riding her magnificent steed, burst into this desolate place like a bolt of lightning.

She wore silver armor, her figure valiant and spirited, her long hair flowing in the wind, her eyes gleaming with unwavering determination. Under her control, the steed darted like a serpent through the ruins, each step powerful and confident.

Inside the palace, a scene of opulent splendor and golden brilliance unfolded, every inch exuding royal grandeur and luxury.

Towering palaces were supported by pillars carved from pure gold, their ceilings inlaid with dazzling gems, shimmering in the setting sun like a dreamlike fairyland. Exquisite murals and sculptures adorned every corner, telling ancient and glorious stories.

However, in stark contrast to the ultimate luxury of this inner palace was the desolate scene outside, ravaged by war.

The once bustling garden was now deserted, a scene of utter devastation. Houses were consumed by raging fire, leaving only charred ruins and crumbling walls. The air was thick with the acrid smell of smoke and blood, sending chills down one's spine; the cries of soldiers echoed everywhere.

The contrast was stark and horrifying.

The opulence within the palace and the misery outside formed two extremes, like the boundary between heaven and hell.

Finally, it was all coming to an end.

Liang Lin dismounted and walked into the depths of the palace.

A profound silence, an unsettling silence.

Liang Lin held her breath, carefully observing her surroundings.

"Why, it's you?"

That eerie voice came from the end of the corridor.

Liang Lin stopped, drew her sword, and looked ahead.

It was Doris.

"Where is Gael?"

Doris walked slowly forward.

"That's not your question. I'm asking you, where is Liang Di? Why hasn't she appeared?"

"She is not here."

Liang Lin drew her longsword, her eyes sharp, staring at the woman before her.

"No, the one who will end your life is me."

"You?"

Doris seemed to have heard the funniest joke. She suddenly burst into laughter, laughing so hard she almost fell over, tears streaming down her face, until finally it turned into sobs, her eyes filled with resentment.

"Kill you, then I'll kill Liang Di!"

Liang Lin stepped forward, blocking the palace gates.

"Unfortunately, you won't have that chance."
