V2: Chapter 193: I Won

Doris suddenly froze.

As long as I don't move, I can launch a sneak attack later, maybe...

"Stop pretending, I can hear your breathing."

Liang Lin rushed forward.

"Tsk?"

The ground began to tremble slightly, and a damp, putrid smell filled the air.

Suddenly, thick tentacles shot out from the surrounding trees, like venomous snakes that had been lurking for a long time, attempting to bind Liang Lin.

Liang Lin didn't move, but she already sensed the danger lurking around her.

She took a deep breath, her inner energy surging, and the longsword in her hand seemed to sense its master's will, trembling slightly. Because her eyes were closed, she focused all her attention on her ears and skin, capturing every subtle change.

The first tentacle attacked with a whistling sound, incredibly fast. However, Liang Lin had already anticipated its trajectory, lightly shifting her body to the side, her longsword swinging out smoothly, accurately striking the surface of the tentacle.

Crack!

The tentacle was severed.

More tentacles surged from all directions, faster and more ferocious.

Liang Lin moved like lightning, weaving among the tentacles, her longsword wielding a relentless, impenetrable attack. With her exceptional perception and superb swordsmanship, she repeatedly averted danger, forcing the tentacles back.

As time passed, Liang Lin gradually adapted to the rhythm of the battle. She began to take the initiative, no longer merely defending and counterattacking. She took a deep breath, her inner energy surging, a sharp sword intent emanating from her body.

She leaped into the air, her longsword transforming into a dazzling beam of light, heading straight for the nearest tentacle.

This strike concentrated all her power and will; the air seemed to be torn apart wherever the sword light passed.

However, Doris did not stop there.

Just when Liang Lin thought the battle was about to end, even more tentacles surged forth, far exceeding the number and speed of the previous attacks. Driven by Doris, the tentacles launched a frenzied attack on Liang Lin.

Liang Lin was once again surrounded by tentacles, trapped in a desperate situation.

But Liang Lin never despaired; this only fueled her fighting spirit.

She took a deep breath, gathering all her inner energy, preparing for a final counterattack.

Swish!

Swish!

Swish!

In a flash of sword light, Doris's tentacles were torn apart by an invisible force.

Those once arrogant tentacles were now as fragile as paper, severed one by one by Liang Lin.

The air was thick with the stench of blood and decay. But Liang Lin seemed detached from it all.

Because Liang Lin's heart was filled only with her unwavering dedication to swordsmanship and her burning desire for victory.

Liang Lin was like a tireless war goddess, her figure weaving through the tentacles. Her longsword, an extension of herself, swung and cleaved relentlessly, each flash of sword light accompanied by the crisp sound of a tentacle snapping.

After such a long battle, she was frankly exhausted.

But Liang Lin didn't stop. Her movements were swift and powerful, each swing embodying her ultimate understanding of swordsmanship and her burning desire for victory. The tentacles surged like a tide, but beneath Liang Lin's sword, they were as fragile as reeds, utterly vulnerable.

Liang Lin let out a low roar.

Her longsword whistled through the air, precisely severing a tentacle in front of her. The tentacle twisted in the air before finally falling helplessly to the ground, splattering orange-red liquid.

Immediately afterward, she swung her sword twice more, severing the tentacles attacking from the left and right sides respectively.

Liang Lin's movements were fluid and continuous, like a delicate dance.

Liang Lin's sword speed increased rapidly, the sword shadows weaving together, enveloping her entirely in a silvery curtain of light. She seemed to have become one with the sword; every movement was filled with power and beauty.

At this moment, her mind was only on the sword, only on frantically hacking away. She didn't need to look at the tentacles, for her senses were sharp enough to detect every subtle change. She didn't need to think about her next move, because her body had become accustomed to this rhythm of battle, naturally reacting with the most appropriate response.

However, how could Doris give up so easily?

More tentacles surged from Doris's back and beneath her long dress; they seemed larger and more resilient. These tentacles were not only numerous but also incredibly powerful; each attack was enough to kill an ordinary person.

Sweat beaded on Doris's forehead; her eyes, initially filled with disdain, now showed panic, and she even lost her footing.

Liang Lin took a deep breath, concentrating her inner energy at the tip of her sword.  Her eyes remained closed, yet those invisible eyes seemed to pierce the darkness, seeing the enemy ahead.

Liang Lin unleashed a series of sword strikes, each imbued with her full power.

The sword light blazed like a dragon, severing tentacles wherever it passed. A thick stench of blood and decay filled the air, but Liang Lin remained detached, her mind solely focused on her swordsmanship and her thirst for victory.

Something's wrong.

This is really wrong!

Doris panicked.

First… retreat–

"Pfft!"

A mouthful of blood spurted from her mouth.

Run!

Doris began to retreat.

Those once arrogant tentacles now scattered like stray dogs.

Liang Lin sensed it.

She became excited, laughing maniacally.

"Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"

It was ecstatic joy at her breakthrough in swordsmanship.

Liang Lin gave Doris no chance, continuing to swing her sword.

Slash!

Slash!

Slash!

Until the last tentacle was severed by Liang Lin and fell to the ground.

As the sound of the last tentacle breaking echoed in the air, Doris seemed to lose all her strength, collapsing to the ground.

"Pfft!"

Another mouthful of blood.

The blood stained her chest.

"Doris."

"You lost!"

Liang Lin didn't hesitate, nor did she waste any words; she knew the lesson that arguing too much would only lead to defeat.

She leaped forward, her body tracing a perfect arc in the air, her longsword gleaming coldly, aiming straight for Doris's heart.

Doris seemed not to have expected Liang Lin's speed to be so fast; a look of surprise flashed across her face. She tried to dodge, but found it impossible.

So, she tried to use her last tentacle to block Liang Lin's attack.

However, Liang Lin's longsword was cursed with a tentacle.

Crack!

The tiny tentacle was easily severed.

Thud!

The longsword pierced Doris's chest cavity with unerring accuracy, penetrating her heart.

Doris's body jolted violently, and the light in her eyes instantly dimmed.
