V1: Chapter 36: Scumbag! Go to Hell!
"Okay, okay~"
Liang Di admired Liang Lin for this; they were remarkably similar.
"You don't need him as a human shield. I can protect you perfectly well on my own."
Huh?
For some reason, these words sounded extremely ambiguous, especially under the statue in the church. Such a sacred scene, coupled with these ambiguous words, gave one the illusion of being proposed to.
"Let's go."
Liang Di shook her head, not wanting to think too much. Now wasn't the time to daydream; many unknown dangers lay ahead.
Liang Lin grasped the statue's arm and twisted it forcefully.
Crack
Squeak, squeak, squeak~
A hidden, dark underground passage appeared before them. The entrance was narrow, only wide enough for one person. Liang Lin stepped in first.
"You follow behind me."
Liang Di didn't stand in her way and followed Liang Lin down the passage together.
The passage was pitch black, growing darker the deeper she went, until it was practically impossible to see her hand in front of her face. There were no torches or anything like that on the walls, and they were damp.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, Liang Lin finally saw a sliver of light ahead. She strode down, only to be blocked by an iron gate. The gate was secured with a large padlock; to open it, someone would have to be inside.
Damn it.
Liang Lin glanced at the sword in her hand.
What a pity. If it were her previous, incredibly sharp sword, she could probably slice through this lock. But that sword, with her death, had been lost somewhere on the battlefield. The one she held now was just an ordinary dagger. Slicing through the lock? That was wishful thinking.
Liang Lin carefully examined the room before her. It was ordinary and simple. There was a worn-out sofa and a table with a chipped corner. Two candles sat on the table, and a candle lamp hung from the ceiling. Opposite the iron gate was another iron gate; presumably, those were the girls locked inside.
Where were their guards?
Just as Liang Lin was wondering, the iron gate opened, and a burly man, still seemingly unsatisfied, smacked his lips and pulled up his pants as he walked out.
This scene completely enraged Liang Lin. If it weren't for the iron gate, she probably would have rushed up and chopped the man's head off.
"Wait! Don't be impulsive," Liang Di pressed Liang Lin down. "Don't draw your sword. We can't let them know we have weapons. We need to finish this quickly. If they find out, we'll have to fight them again."
Liang Lin's face was extremely pale, and she withdrew her sword from her hand.
Liang Di pushed past her and shouted into the iron gate, "Brother! The priest upstairs told us to come down and find someone! He said... we'll receive God's blessing here!"
The sudden voice startled the burly man, but after hearing Liang Di's explanation, he instantly beamed, muttering, "This priest's tricks for fooling little girls are getting more and more sophisticated."
"Yeah, yeah, come in, you can receive God's blessing here~"
Looking at the burly man's greasy and lewd face, Liang Lin took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to skewer him like a string of candied hawthorns.
The burly man opened the door and tried to grab Liang Lin's wrist, which terrified our wicked young lady. Her face turned deathly pale, and she ducked and squeezed past him into the room. Liang Di followed suit, squeezing in as well.
The burly man then locked the iron gate. He slowly turned around, revealing a sinister smile, rubbing his hands together like a fly. "It's been a long time... since such a beautiful young lady has come. Are you the daughters of a wealthy merchant?"
His groping hand was about to land again.
"Damn it..."
Liang Lin couldn't hold back anymore.
"I'm the daughter of a devil! Go to hell!"
Liang Lin slashed at the burly man's scalp with her sword, slicing off half of it.
"Don't kill him! Liang Lin! Leave him alive, as a witness, don't kill them all!"
Liang Di urgently reminded Liang Lin from behind.
Liang Lin gritted her teeth.
"Okay!"
As the burly man clutched his scalp and screamed, Liang Lin had already rushed to his side, striking him on the back of the head with the hilt of her sword.
"Thump!"
The burly man was like a tree that had been sawed down, crashing to the ground.
Liang Lin took out a small knife and severed the burly man's tendons in his feet and hands. "But we need to hurry. If we're too slow, he'll still bleed, or he'll die from the pain."
"So ruthless~"
Liang Di clicked her tongue twice.
"But... I like it~"
Perhaps hearing the sound, the iron gate opened, and another burly man's head popped out. Liang Lin turned around at the sound. The burly man's eyes met Liang Lin's blood-red gaze. A chilling fear, like cold tentacles, crawled up every inch of his skin, making him tremble uncontrollably.
The next second, he actually slammed the iron gate shut. Hiding behind the gate, clutching his wildly beating heart, he didn't know why he was so frightened by a little girl.
No, that's not right.
There seems to be another dead person on the ground, blood everywhere. That person seems to be one of the burly men in their group.
Was he... killed by that little girl?
Just as the burly man was still pondering the matter, a dull thud echoed from the iron gate.
Outside the gate, Liang Lin stood with her hands in her pockets, one leg raised high, cursing under her breath, "Damn it! What a coward! Open the door!"
Thump!
Thump!
Bang!
Several more kicks struck the iron gate. The iron gate wasn't thick; it was very thin, even dented in several places by Liang Lin's kicks.
The other burly men inside also heard the commotion and stopped what they were doing.
There was a leader among them, but it wasn't one of the burly men; it was a seemingly refined gentleman.
He walked to the front and asked the burly man standing in front of the door, "What happened?"
"Boss, I just saw... I saw a little girl with red eyes kill one of our brothers."
"A little girl?"
The man pushed up his glasses.
"You must be mistaken. It can't be."
Thump!
Thump!
Liang Lin was still kicking the door from outside.
"How many people are outside?"
"It seems... if I'm not mistaken, there are only two, both little girls."
"Then why aren't you opening the door and bringing them in? What are you waiting for?" The man glared at the burly man and gave the order, "Open the door and bring those two girls in! We've been short on new material lately."
"Yes, sir!"
Squeak!
The door opened.
The next second.
In the dimly lit room, only the men's agonizing screams and the scattered limbs and remains could be heard.
At the doorway, Liang Di smiled as she watched the carnage unfold before her, the shadow behind her bearing the shape of tentacles.
Liang Lin raised her longsword high and plunged it viciously into a man's chest.
"I said, scum like you... deserve to go to hell!"
