Chapter 33: The Class is So Unruly, LOL

The Class is So Unruly, LOL

"Haha, is that for real?"

"Lol, seriously?! Kino-sen was seriously crying after being dumped by her boyfriend right before Christmas!"

"And that was right in front of the station!? I was like, 'Serves you right,' that's what she deserved for acting all high and mighty with us, right?'"

"Lol, of course."

Hmm, is this the zoo?

By the winter of your second year of high school, you'll start thinking about entrance exams and I think it's about time to start removing the jitters. Today, as always, people are making a lot of noise, unaware of the cold outside. They say that fools don't care about colds, that children are childish, and that children are full of energy, but I'm impressed by how good the people of the past are at saying this.

Seriously, it's amazing how good (foolish) they were. It made me wondered, what they were thinking.

"...Everyone? We're in class now, so no talking allowed!"

It's just awful to talk loudly during class. Our class has been a bit of a problem since last year, but this year, it's completely fallen apart, especially since the summer when Rindou-san started coming.

The teachers aren't actively trying to do anything about it, and I guess this class has become a throwaway class for second-years. I always thought it was just a rumor that a class full of problem kids was a bunch of rumored things, but it really does exist.

Sumire-chan, the only one who was struggling to do something about the class, seems to have grown tired lately, and now she only gives warnings and doesn't actively intervene.

The bags around her eyes are really pathetic.

I'm probably the student closest to Sumire-chan, so the change is even more noticeable.

"Hahaha, so then!"

"This is so crazy, I can't stop laughing, stop it already!"

"...Ano, uhh."

Today, as always, no one hears her voice, and she continues class with a dejected look on her face.

By the way, my beloved childhood friend, the protagonist of the bunch, says...

"Hey, how about we have a group date sometime? Someone set it up, please."

"That's the rule of whoever suggested it should be the one!"

"Well, I don't have any connections, so I'm asking you!"

Karen is the loudest disruptor in class. She's still in the middle of heat like last year, and like the king of the monkey mountain, she's bobbing her hips towards the monkeys, yelling about boyfriends and group dates almost every day. Well, Karen isn't taking any exams, after all. It has nothing to do with her.

"....."

Next is Kikka. Given her personality, you'd think she wouldn't overlook such a terrible situation, but in reality, she's quietly studying alone, ignoring it.

At first, she tried everything, just like Sumire, but she soon gave up, knowing that there are some idiots in this world who won't understand no matter how much she explains it to them. Having known Karen for a long time as a childhood friend, she's more understanding of people like that than most.

"....."

She silently grinds the tip of her mechanical pencil lead into a crisp, filling her notebook with writing.

Simple earplugs peek out from her ears, immersed in her own world and shutting herself off from the outside world. She also has an English textbook on her desk, not Sumire's math textbook, suggesting she's studying independently.

I'm sure teacher wouldn't be too happy about students studying something unrelated to class, but the mere fact that they were studying in this classroom was a bonus point already, so they were quite lenient.

"...Mmmm, Mama."

Next up was Kagari.

Ever since she returned to school, the seat next to me has been her designated position, and she still lives to my right.

She stayed up late last night, so she's currently taking a nap. Taking full advantage because her seat is next to me, she rests her head on my thigh and is fast asleep. She talks in her sleep, drooling, and hugs me lightly, just like a little child.

Looking at her made me feel all warm and fuzzy, so I gave her a head pat.

By the way, it's normal for her to stay up late, and naps like this are also normal.

So why does she stay up late every night? Well, the truth is, Kagari studies hard at home to maintain her grades. She sleeps at school and studies at home.

Why does she do that? Well, it's simply to make Mama (me) thinks she's some kind of amazing girl!

A problem child who doesn't study at all at school and falls asleep in class. But an honor student who gets good grades on tests!

These are words that hikikomori, or rather, former hikikomori, would love. It sounds like the fantasy of a simple, gloomy kid. Is it on par with the fantasy of subduing terrorists attacking during class?

In short, Kagari, who has developed a late-onset case of chuunibyou, feels embarrassed to show that she's trying hard, so she studies hard at home.

This is what makes her seem like a girl of marriageable age, and her girlishness has really improved in the last six months or so.

...It's not like I'm particularly attached to her.

Well, a pet that gets attached to you is adorable, after all.

That's enough about Kagari.

It feels like the order is a bit out of whack, but next up is Suiren.

"...jiiii"

As for Suiren, well...

To be honest, I've neglected her for too long.

At first, she was just a replica I made to satisfy my lust, but lately, it hasn't been building up to the dangerous point, so I've been neglecting her for a while. When was the last time I went to the library? I didn't go at all at the end of last year because of Kagari's matter.

What's more, it seems the automatic socially awkward training system I had created for Suiren in advance was working properly, and it's now impossible for her to make friends with anyone.

And yet, she's so self-absorbed that whenever she goes to talk to people around her, they quickly distance themselves from her, and she's become the kind of girl who thinks, "What a tough kid to get along with" about other people.

You're now the perfect Karen No. 2.

You no longer listen to the lessons at all, and the way you stare at me makes you feel a bit yandere-like, but in reality, you just want to talk to me, to have human contact as soon as possible.

I'm sure if it weren't for the tradition of meeting in the library after school, she would have rushed in to me.

Crap, it's scary, damn it.

Oh, and finally, there's Rindou-san.

"Damn it... damn this crappy game!"

She's not interested in classes at all, so she just plays games all the time.

It seems she's been obsessed with a famous RPG lately, and even if you've never played it, the background music is one that everyone has heard at least once and makes you want to hum along.

By the way, she surprisingly seems to have Last Elixir Syndrome, as she repeatedly holds back on her elixir during the final boss battle, only to lose and scream in defeat.

Really, there's not much information about her, so I'll stop here.

"...Ah, the bell. --That concludes today's class."

The familiar sound of the bell rings, signaling the end of class. We slip into a brief break.

Sumire-sensei signaled the end of class with a haggard look on her face and fled the classroom.

(...ahaha ♡)

Watching her back, I was certain of the progress of my next plan, and I licked my lips inwardly.

Slurp~ ♡
