Chapter 101: Requests and Demands

Shintaro Midorima received Miyamoto Tokima’s invitation and headed out with his lucky charm in hand.

At the agreed location, he spotted Miyamoto Tokima and Satsuki Momoi and walked over.

“Tokima, what is it?”

Miyamoto Tokima told Shintaro Midorima about his upcoming departure to the United States.

Shintaro Midorima showed a moment of shock, but it quickly faded.

“Is there something you need me to take care of?”

Miyamoto Tokima nodded. In truth, he wasn’t too worried about Shintaro Midorima.
In the original story, aside from Tetsuya Kuroko and Ryota Kise, Shintaro Midorima was the third person who never completely fell into darkness. He was the very definition of rationality.

Miyamoto Tokima only had one request for him: keep an eye on Daiki Aomine, supervise his training, and, if necessary, offer guidance to the others.

He didn’t ask for much. He knew Shintaro Midorima hated trouble, and just keeping watch over Daiki Aomine alone was already more than enough work.

Shintaro Midorima frowned slightly, but still nodded in agreement.

Seeing this, Miyamoto Tokima smiled and left with Satsuki Momoi to find the third person—Atsushi Murasakibara.

Miyamoto Tokima invited Atsushi Murasakibara to a restaurant.

Atsushi Murasakibara happily sat at the table, waiting for the food to arrive, eating as he listened.

Miyamoto Tokima told him about his impending departure.

The moment he finished, Atsushi Murasakibara’s movements clearly stiffened. He even stopped eating.

“Tokima… you’re leaving?”

Miyamoto Tokima nodded with a gentle smile, his eyes filled with reluctance.

Suddenly, Atsushi Murasakibara began to cry.

“Tokima, can’t you not leave?”

Tears streamed down his face as he spoke.

For a moment, Miyamoto Tokima didn’t know how to respond. He hurriedly handed Atsushi Murasakibara some tissues and coaxed him with food until he calmed down.

Atsushi Murasakibara asked again,

“Tokima… do you really have to go?”

Miyamoto Tokima shook his head.

“I have to. There are things I need to do.”

Atsushi Murasakibara wiped his tears and looked at him.

“Then tell me what you need me to do.”

Miyamoto Tokima smiled slightly and told him his request.

In truth, his request wasn’t demanding at all. He only asked Atsushi Murasakibara not to provoke Seijuro Akashi, and to keep training seriously.

If it were anyone else, Atsushi Murasakibara wouldn’t have listened in the slightest. But since it was Miyamoto Tokima, he obediently agreed to everything and promised he would train properly.

Miyamoto Tokima nodded in satisfaction, paid the bill, and left.

Atsushi Murasakibara watched his back with sadness, which soon turned into appetite as he began stuffing himself with the food on the table.

...

Seijuro Akashi approached Miyamoto Tokima with a smile.

“What’s wrong, Tokima?”

The two had arranged to meet at a library. Looking at Seijuro Akashi’s smiling face, Miyamoto Tokima said,

“Akashi, there’s something I want you to remember.”

Seijuro Akashi immediately sensed that something was off. His expression turned serious.

Miyamoto Tokima spoke slowly.

“Akashi, one-on-one matches between players can’t be used as a standard to measure overall strength.”

Seijuro Akashi found him acting strangely.

“Tokima, is that why you asked me here?”

Miyamoto Tokima shook his head slightly, then told him about his upcoming departure to the United States.

Seijuro Akashi’s pupils trembled, shock written clearly on his face.

“So suddenly?”

Miyamoto Tokima nodded.

“Yes. That’s why I want you to remember what I just said.”

Seijuro Akashi lowered his head slightly, a hint of dejection on his face, but he quickly composed himself.

“I understand, Tokima. I’ll remember it.”

Miyamoto Tokima smiled in relief. After saying goodbye to Seijuro Akashi, he took Satsuki Momoi to meet the next person…

Shogo Haizaki.

For the others, Miyamoto Tokima only made requests, not demands. Everyone had their own way of thinking, and he couldn’t force them to follow his.

At most, he could offer a reminder. As for whether they could resist the will of the world, even he didn’t know.

Shogo Haizaki received Miyamoto Tokima’s call at home and immediately bolted out the door.

“Tokima, you were looking for me?”

Miyamoto Tokima looked at Shogo Haizaki’s smiling face, feeling a trace of emotion.

In the original story, the minor villain hated by so many people now looked like a well-behaved kid.

Miyamoto Tokima didn’t want Shogo Haizaki to return to who he was back then, so he decided to change him.

With others, he made requests. With Shogo Haizaki, he made demands—because only demands could truly change him.

He told Shogo Haizaki about his upcoming departure from Japan. Shogo Haizaki froze on the spot.

“Tokima… you’re joking, right?”

Miyamoto Tokima shook his head.

“I’m not joking.”

Shogo Haizaki wondered if his ears were playing tricks on him. He tapped them and asked again,

“Tokima, say that again?”

Miyamoto Tokima raised his fist.

“Do I need to?”

Shogo Haizaki waved his hands frantically.

“No, no, that’s fine!”

Only then did Miyamoto Tokima lower his fist and state his demands.

“Listen carefully. While I’m gone, I want you to train properly. Stop skipping classes. As for fighting, I don’t care—as long as you have a legitimate reason. But—
if I find out you’ve hurt an innocent person, then when I come back, you’ll be the first one I deal with.”

Shogo Haizaki immediately snapped to attention.

“Yes! I’ll follow your orders, Tokima!”

Miyamoto Tokima patted his shoulder in satisfaction.

“Go on.”

“Yes!”

After Shogo Haizaki left, Satsuki Momoi couldn’t help but laugh.

Miyamoto Tokima looked at her.

“What are you laughing at?”

Satsuki Momoi narrowed her eyes slightly, smiling.

“I just think Haizaki is so obedient around you. He’s never like that with anyone else. Tokima, what did you do to him?”

Miyamoto Tokima rubbed his nose, not quite knowing how to answer.

“Well… what did I do… does beating him up count?”

Satsuki Momoi froze for a second, then burst out laughing.

“Hahaha, so that’s it. That really does sound like you.”

Miyamoto Tokima muttered a quiet protest.

“I’m not violent.”

Satsuki Momoi covered her mouth, giggling, and looked at him.

“Is that so?”
