Chapter 108: Divinity

After witnessing Miyamoto Tokima’s Animal Instinct, Nash Gold felt as though his entire worldview had collapsed.

‘A creature from legend… and someone actually possesses it?’

Nash Gold had no words to describe what he was seeing.

Under the black dragon’s gaze, he felt completely immobilized. He couldn’t move even a single step, standing there blankly like prey awaiting a predator’s kill.

Miyamoto Tokima withdrew his Animal Instinct, turned to Nash Gold, and said,

“Get on the court. You’re the last one.”

Only then did Nash Gold regain control of his body. He swallowed hard, and the way he looked at Miyamoto Tokima changed—like someone walking calmly toward death.

With no other option, Nash Gold stepped onto the court to prepare for the one-on-one.

Miyamoto Tokima tossed him the ball and gestured lightly.

“You start. Show me everything you’ve got. Otherwise, you won’t get another chance.”

Nash Gold swallowed again and took a deep breath, readying himself to attack.

‘Looks like I can’t hide it anymore.’

His heart jolted as he activated the [Belial Eye]. In an instant, countless future movements echoed through his mind.

As he observed through the [Belial Eye], Nash Gold was shocked to discover that in every future he saw, he could easily break through Miyamoto Tokima’s defense. The realization left him stunned.

‘This… how is that possible…’

His initial shock quickly turned into excitement. Nash Gold had never doubted the [Belial Eye]. If it showed him effortlessly breaking through Miyamoto Tokima’s defense, then it had to be true.

Suppressing his excitement—after all, he didn’t dare offend the man in front of him—Nash Gold began moving according to the future projected by the [Belial Eye].

He dribbled forward, made a sharp feint, switched the ball from his right hand to his left, then smoothly followed with a behind-the-back spin.

In the future shown by the [Belial Eye], Miyamoto Tokima was completely shaken by this move.

But the moment Nash Gold finished his spin, he froze in disbelief.

Miyamoto Tokima was standing right in front of him.

‘Impossible!’

Nash Gold’s heart lurched. This was completely different from what he had seen through the [Belial Eye].

In that future, he should have already broken through and scored.

Yet in reality, he was stopped cold by Miyamoto Tokima.

The instant he cut Nash Gold off, Miyamoto Tokima extended his left hand and swiped at the ball.

Nash Gold reacted at once, pulling the ball behind his back from his right hand to his left, then quickly retreating to create distance.

After pulling away, he seemed to realize something terrifying. His eyes widened as he stared at Miyamoto Tokima in horror.

The people watching from the sidelines were startled as well.

“He dodged it? He actually avoided Mr. Tokima’s steal?”

Allen couldn’t help but exclaim.

Jason Silver stared intently at the two players on the court—more precisely, at Nash Gold. From Nash Gold, he felt a clear sense of danger.

‘This guy… he’s not simple…’

On the court, Nash Gold’s mind was already in turmoil.

‘How is this possible? Why can’t my [Belial Eye] predict his movements?!’

That was exactly what shocked him. His [Belial Eye] hadn’t foreseen Miyamoto Tokima’s steal at all.

Nash Gold realized that his [Belial Eye] simply couldn’t predict Miyamoto Tokima’s actions.

The future he saw and the reality before him were two entirely different things.

At this moment, Nash Gold was forced to accept a brutal truth—

The [Belial Eye]… was ineffective!

A profound sense of helplessness washed over him. He had never felt this powerless in front of anyone before.

“Keep going,” Miyamoto Tokima said calmly. “Your offensive time is almost up.”

Nash Gold’s expression changed. Gritting his teeth, he launched another attack.

Unwilling to give up, he activated the [Belial Eye] again, attacking while watching the future unfold. But the more he looked, the more unbelievable it became.

‘Impossible! Impossible! Why is this happening?!’

Nash Gold was utterly shaken, because the future he was seeing now… had changed.

If before, the future showed him breaking through Miyamoto Tokima with ease, then now the future showed something else entirely—

No matter what he did, he could never get past Miyamoto Tokima.

As he continued attacking and watching the future, reality and the future began to overlap perfectly. He could no longer break through Miyamoto Tokima’s defense.

There was one subtle difference—but he couldn’t tell what it was.

In the end, Nash Gold was defended into an offensive timeout by Miyamoto Tokima.

He stood there in a daze, staring blankly at the floor, feeling as though his entire worldview had collapsed.

Miyamoto Tokima took the ball and said to him,

“Get ready to defend. I’m attacking now.”

Nash Gold nodded stiffly, still standing there in a trance.

Miyamoto Tokima narrowed his eyes and suddenly hurled the basketball straight at Nash Gold.

“Snap out of it!”

The ball struck Nash Gold on the head, jolting him back to his senses.

He looked up at Miyamoto Tokima, his eyes filled with terror.

Because at that moment, Miyamoto Tokima had activated his Divinity. Behind him, a massive and awe-inspiring black dragon emerged.

Its blood-red eyes locked onto Nash Gold. Under that gaze, Nash Gold felt as though his body had turned to stone, unable to move at all.

The four people watching from the sidelines stared at Miyamoto Tokima’s Divinity in horror.

Allen swallowed hard and muttered, “What is that shadow, exactly?”

Zack shook his head. “I don’t know. It feels like something has locked onto me.”

What the three of them saw wasn’t a black dragon, but a vast, formless shadow.

On the entire court, only Nash Gold and Jason Silver could see the black dragon.

Jason Silver kept muttering under his breath, “A dragon from myth… every time I see it, it’s still shocking…”

Nick turned to him in confusion and asked, “Silver, what dragon? Isn’t it just a shadow?”

Jason Silver stiffly turned his head and demanded,

“You guys… can’t see it?”

Miyamoto Tokima noticed their exchange and turned to ask,

“You’re seeing different things?”

As he spoke, the black dragon vanished, and the overwhelming pressure disappeared with it.

The five of them all felt a sudden wave of relief and began breathing heavily.

Miyamoto Tokima continued,

“Tell me what each of you saw.”
