Chapter 129 【Pendulum】

Dicky Anthony lost sight of his target and started scanning the court. When he turned his head, all he saw was Shuzo Nijimura rising into the air.

Nash Gold made a zero-frame move, snapping the ball out with no preparatory motion at all and sending it straight into Shuzo Nijimura’s hands.

An alley-oop.

After the basket, the court fell into a brief, unmistakable silence before thunderous applause exploded from the stands.

Judith Gall watched the scene with an ugly expression.

‘They’re actually coordinating like this?’

Possession changed.

The Venomous Snakes inbounded the ball to Dicky Anthony. He immediately prepared to initiate the offense—then suddenly froze.

Nash Gold stood in front of him, [Belial Eye] activated.

“Little snake, the game’s over.”

Titus Monroe stiffened, his heart jolting.

‘They switched matchups?’

Shuzo Nijimura, now defending Titus Monroe, let out a helpless sigh.

“There’s really nothing I can do. After all, I can’t stop him.”

Titus Monroe shot back,

“And you think he can defend against Dicky’s [Venomous Fang]?”

Shuzo Nijimura smiled faintly.

“You guess.”

Dicky Anthony’s face twisted as he muttered under his breath,

“Hunt...”

The phantom viper behind him instantly shifted into an attacking posture, jaws wide open, venomous fangs bared.

The corners of Nash Gold’s mouth lifted. With [Belial Eye] active, he saw through Dicky Anthony’s movement in an instant.

Slap!

Dicky Anthony jumped into his shooting motion—but the ball was cleanly stripped by Nash Gold.

Behind him, the viper phantom looked as if an invisible giant hand had clamped its jaws shut, forcing its mouth closed.

Titus Monroe stared wide-eyed, murmuring in disbelief,

“He… he got stripped...”

“So this is what you meant—”

He turned to speak to Shuzo Nijimura, only to find that there was no one there anymore.

Titus Monroe’s expression changed drastically. He spun around to retreat on defense, shouting at the top of his lungs,

“Get back!!!”

Nash Gold charged toward the frontcourt. This time, he didn’t restrain his speed at all, bursting forward at full power.

‘Impossible! Were you all just acting before?!’

Judith Gall chased after him, watching helplessly as Nash Gold pulled farther and farther away.

Just as Nash Gold was about to catch up to Shuzo Nijimura, he slowed down. He activated [Belial Eye], peering briefly into the near future.

After locking onto Shuzo Nijimura’s optimal receiving point, Nash Gold launched another zero-frame pass, sending the ball out without the slightest warning.

Swish!

The ball arced through the air and dropped precisely into Shuzo Nijimura’s hands before being hammered into the rim.

Boom!!!

The crowd erupted again, applause pouring down without restraint.

On the next possession, a clearly unhinged Dicky Anthony muttered nonstop to himself,

“How is this possible? How is this possible?!”

Still mumbling, he demanded the ball again and went straight at Nash Gold.

The result was no surprise—Nash Gold, with [Belial Eye] active, stripped the ball once more.

After the steal, Nash Gold passed the ball to Miyamoto Tokima.

Miyamoto Tokima immediately activated [Eye of Truth], taking in everyone’s positions at once.

A ripple spread outward in an instant. Spectators and members of the Black Emperor Dragon Team—none of whom had ever seen Miyamoto Tokima use this ability—were completely stunned.

The crowd erupted into shocked cries.

“What kind of skill is that? Is this Miyamoto’s ability? Why does it feel like he can see right through us?”

“Yeah! I feel like he can even see my red underwear today!”

“No way— I just flushed this morning. Miyamoto wouldn’t know and start looking down on me, right?”

On the court.

Nash Gold felt a familiar aura, one that made him shudder involuntarily.

‘This presence… I never thought Tokima would also have special eyes—and they’re far stronger than mine!’

He was deeply shaken. Nash Gold had never imagined that Miyamoto Tokima possessed eyes even more powerful than his own.

Titus Monroe of the Venomous Snakes felt as though he’d shattered.

Seeing two pairs of eyes in a single day that so utterly surpassed his own was an impact beyond words.

Miyamoto Tokima didn’t choose a fast break. Instead, he calmly dribbled the ball across half court.

Hausberg rushed back on defense, guarding Miyamoto Tokima nervously.

Miyamoto Tokima’s face was completely expressionless. He kept dribbling as his center of gravity shifted unpredictably from left to right.

Hausberg was forced to constantly adjust, swaying left and right—like a pendulum that never stopped swinging.

Then, suddenly, Miyamoto Tokima burst through from the left.

Hausberg couldn’t recover his balance in time. His center of gravity collapsed, and he fell hard to the floor—like a pendulum that had finally toppled.

Judith Gall’s face changed as he murmured,

“Haus… like a pendulum… fell...”

This was Miyamoto Tokima’s offensive skill.

【Pendulum】

Of course, Miyamoto Tokima himself had no idea. To him, he’d simply taken a few dragging steps.

After breaking into the paint, Kit Barry immediately stepped up to help on defense.

Miyamoto Tokima showed no panic at all. He glanced at the rim, brought both hands together as if gathering the ball, and made a shooting feint—a prayer-like motion.

But in Kit Barry’s eyes, it was clearly a shot. He jumped to contest it—only to freeze the moment he left the ground.

After sending Kit Barry flying with the fake, Miyamoto Tokima gently flicked the ball up.

The basketball dropped cleanly through the hoop.

Another of Miyamoto Tokima’s godlike techniques.

【Illusion】

Every fake he made looked completely real to others, like being trapped inside an illusion.

Naturally, Miyamoto Tokima himself didn’t realize this. He just felt like he’d made a few feints, and the defenders had flown away.

Next possession.

Dicky Anthony still refused to accept reality. Facing Nash Gold with [Belial Eye] active, he once again unleashed his [Venomous Fang] without hesitation.

The outcome was just as clear—The Devil ripped the fangs from the viper, stripping it of all offensive power.

“A snake without its venomous fangs might still have a trace of poison, but it’s nothing to fear. Game over, little snake!”

Nash Gold laughed loudly, immediately pushing a fast break that ended with another dunk from Shuzo Nijimura.

After this sequence, Dicky Anthony’s venomous snake completely lost its attacking power and dispersed.

Dicky Anthony was also forcibly pulled out of Animal Instinct—put simply… he was beaten back to his senses.

Now clear-headed, Dicky Anthony shook his head unwillingly.

‘I never thought that even activating Animal Instinct would end in such a crushing defeat.’

Although entering Animal Instinct cost him his rationality, it didn’t erase his memory.

He remembered everything that happened—he just hadn’t been able to control himself.

And precisely because of that, the frustration and despair he felt ran even deeper.
