Chapter 1:
A gentle breeze whispered across an open grass field, rustling the blades and filling the air with a serene calm. A young girl lay motionless in the middle of the field, her face bathed in the warm sunlight. Slowly, her eyelids fluttered, and she squinted against the brightness.
The blazing sun loomed above, forcing her to lift a hand to shield her eyes. Blinking rapidly, she muttered, "Where... am I?" Her voice carried a mix of confusion and grogginess.
Pushing herself into a sitting position, she looked around, her gaze sweeping across the endless expanse of nature. Towering mountains surrounded her in every direction, their peaks kissed by clouds.
"There's a lot of mountains... Wait—why am I in nature?" she asked aloud, her voice tinged with growing confusion. She furrowed her brow, racking her brain for answers. "As I remember, I was just... Wait, what was I doing?" Her thoughts stumbled, her memory murky. Then, a chilling idea struck her.
"Don't tell me I got kidnapped!" she exclaimed, glancing around nervously. "But... why would anyone leave me here of all places?"
Suddenly, a vivid memory flashed in her mind—a deafening honk. The unmistakable blare of a truck.
Her breath caught. "Did I... just get hit by a truck?" she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper. A moment later, realization dawned on her face.
"Don't tell me I just got isekai'd?!" she said, her tone equal parts incredulous and panicked.
She clutched her head, trying to piece things together, but something felt off. "Wait a second," she muttered. "I wasn't even on the road! If I remember correctly, my house is on the third floor! How in the world does a truck hit me there?!"
Her bewilderment grew, her mind racing in circles. She sat there.
She had no idea what was wrong with this situation at all. Everything felt surreal, like a dream she couldn't wake up from.
"Am I really getting isekai'd? Just like those protagonists in fanfics and novels?"
The thought sent a thrill of excitement through her. Not gonna lie—just imagining it was kinda cool. A whole new world, seeing things never seen before, and of course... doing what those protagonists do... like...
"Hehehe..." She let out a small chuckle before abruptly clearing her throat. Ahem, anyway!
Pushing aside her inner monologue, she decided to stand up from her sitting position. As she stretched her arms and rolled her shoulders, she instinctively began doing some light warm-up exercises—shoulder rotations, leg stretches, even a few squats.
"Huh?" She froze mid-movement.
What... did she just do?
Did I just—exercise?
Her brows furrowed. That wasn't like her at all. She wasn't the type to casually warm up like this, yet her body had moved so naturally, as if it had done this a thousand times before. Not only that—her body felt... light. Unnaturally so.
"How in the world did I start thinking about exercise all of a sudden... and actually do it?!"
Something wasn't right. Now that she thought about it—her height... felt off. She looked down at herself, scanning her body carefully.
A bit skinnier than before? That was strange. But at least her chest was—
Wait.
She patted her torso, her expression deadpan. "Well, my chest is still flat, but I mean... aren't men supposed to have flat chests anyway?"
She sighed, shaking her head. "Smh."
And here she thought she had turned into a woman.
"No way a woman has a chest this flat... like a man's. Hm?"
She looked down again.
"...Wait, this is even flatter than a man's. It's like a literal cutting board."
For some reason, a sudden irritation welled up inside her. She clicked her tongue. "Tch. I wonder who's talking bad about me..."
A brief pause.
"...Must be the reader scolding me. But as if I could know that—this isn't a novel, after all. This is real to me."
Shaking off the thought, she turned her attention to the scenery. Her gaze landed on a small water stream not far from where she stood.
As she walked toward it, she couldn't help but take in her surroundings. Now that I think about it... this place is really peaceful.
A vast, open grass field stretched around her, kissed by the gentle breeze. Small animals scurried away the moment they saw her, disappearing into the foliage. This place... it's actually kinda nice to live in.
Hmm?
Just as she was about to reach the water stream, something caught her eye—a tree with strange-looking fruit hanging from its branches.
Curious, she walked up to it and plucked one of the fruits. She turned it over in her hands, inspecting it. It looks like a water guava... but the color's more like those apples from the grocery store.
She stared at it for a few seconds before shrugging. "Well, only one way to find out."
Bringing it to her lips, she took a bite.
The moment the fruit touched her tongue, an explosion of sweetness filled her mouth. The flavor—familiar, yet completely new—sent a shiver of surprise through her.
Wait... is this... cashew?
She turned the fruit over and—sure enough—there was a nut attached to the bottom.
"Well, I've tasted cashews before, but compared to this..." She took another bite, savoring the unique mix of sweetness and something else—something almost addicting.
"This fruit is way sweeter... and it has this weird taste that makes me like it."
She smirked. "Not bad, weird fruit. Not bad at all."
She picked a few more of the strange fruits, cradling them in her arms before continuing toward the water stream.
As she arrived, her gaze fell upon the clear water, where fish lazily swam beneath the surface. However, the moment they sensed her presence, they scattered—some darting between rocks while others swam frantically in different directions.
"Meh." She scoffed, unimpressed.
Setting the fruits beside her, she crouched down and reached toward the water, intending to wash her face. But just as her hands touched the cool surface, something caught her eye.
Her reflection.
...
?????????
She leaned in closer, eyes widening in shock.
?????????!???!?
Her mind blanked. The face staring back at her—it wasn't hers. No, this face was... familiar.
Wait. WAIT.
Heart pounding, she quickly examined herself. Her clothes. Her chest. Her hair.
It all lined up.
"What the—"
Her breath hitched.
"I TURNED INTO FU HUA?!"
She reeled back, gripping her head as the realization crashed over her like a tidal wave.
I should've known! How could I suddenly start doing exercises so naturally? And this flat chest... it's her legendary trademark!
At least, to Honkai Impact 3rd players, it was.
"Shenzhou Tablet...Great Wall of China....." she muttered under her breath, recalling the countless jokes and memes about this very form.
She clicked her tongue, shaking her head. "Tsk tsk... how did I not notice?"
Wait...
A sudden, dreadful thought struck her.
I think I forgot something...
Her face turned pale.
Slowly—very slowly—she lowered her gaze toward her crotch. A bad premonition crawled up her spine.
...
She couldn't feel it.
The great dragon. The mighty, noble beast that once stood tall.
Gone.
Her breath hitched. Her hands trembled.
"D-Did my great dragon just... escape from its own master?!"
Her heart pounded in disbelief. This—this was unacceptable!
She clenched her fists, her eyes burning with desperate resolve.
"COME BACK, MY BROTHER DRAGON!!!"
But no matter how much she screamed to the heavens... the truth remained.
Her dragon was lost.
Forever.
