Chapter 75

"…Is Yuka alright?"

It had been a while since her message confirming Yukari and Rin’s rescue, yet Yuka still hadn’t returned. Since I’d been retrieving Gale’s statue separately, we’d only communicated telepathically.

"Maybe I should check again."

"Yuka, are you okay?"

One second. Two. No response. Had something happened? Dread coiled tighter in my chest—until her voice finally cut through.

"Apologies for the delay. I’m currently engaged in combat."

Relief and worry warred in equal measure.

"I’m on my way. Who’s the opponent?"

"Yuri Spring—the man who replaced Gale as the branch leader."

"Understood. Hold your ground."

I was already sprinting. Yuuka had grown strong, far surpassing ordinary demons. But she wasn’t invincible. Anything could happen. And more than anything… I wanted to be her strength.

As I kicked open the mansion’s gates, I saw Yuka locked in battle with the green-haired man. So that was Yuri. …Why’s he standing so close? I should just erase him now.

"Yuka!"

"Lord Albert!"

"Ha! So the fiancé graces us. Should’ve guessed—‘Thunder Lord’ Albert Lond Bergand, huh?"

Irritation flared at how familiarly this bastard said her name. She’s my wife. The urge to scream "Who the hell do you think you are?!" nearly won out. Pathetic jealousy? Maybe. But any man would bristle hearing another guy casually drop their wife’s name. Still, I swallowed it—I refused to seem petty in Yuuka’s eyes.

"Seems you’ve been bothering my wife."

"Pfft! Heard from Yuka herself—you two still haven’t done it. What, you got ED? Or just into dudes? No way a hot couple stays celibate otherwise."

"Neither. We move at our own pace. Outsiders needn’t comment."

"Wasteful~. A beauty like her? Men’d be lining up. Hell, I’ll take her off your hands."

"Over my corpse. Know your place, trash."

"Says the limp-dick who can’t satisfy his woman."

"Says the walking libido with a single brain cell in his crotch."

"I’d pleasure her way better than you. So hand her over."

"Keep dreaming. Yuuka is mine. I’ll never yield her."

"Then I’ll just take her by force."

"Then I’ll just reduce you to dust."

Our glares clashed. In the next instant, magic collided—my lightning against his wind. I’d crush him, prove which of us stood superior. And make him regret ever laying eyes on what’s mine!
