Chapter 8: An Imperfect Disguise

Back in his room, Kagehara Tetsuya laid out all the items he had bought and found a tutorial video on making fake breasts. Following the instructions, he got to work.

The process was fairly simple: glue the foam inserts together with fabric glue, then slip them into the flesh-colored pantyhose and secure them with more glue. The advantage of this method was that even if the fake breasts were accidentally deformed by a strong touch, they would bounce back immediately and wouldn’t fall apart.

Moreover, for Kagehara Tetsuya, this was almost a natural secret spot for storage.

Among the items he had brought from room 216 were two razor blades he had used, which bore his fingerprints and traces of the victim’s blood.

When the police arrived tomorrow, they would likely search the belongings of the guests. Hiding these two blades inside the fake breasts would be absolutely foolproof.

By now, the bloodstains and bloody fingerprints on the blades had almost dried. Kagehara Tetsuya wrapped the blades in paper, hid them inside the fake breasts, and then glued the fake breasts to the bra he had bought earlier.

Overall, it looked pretty good. Through clothing, it would be hard to tell the difference from Yomikawa’s figure.

Next, it was time to put it all on.

Kagehara Tetsuya first put on a thin short-sleeved shirt, then fitted the fake breasts and bra, using fabric glue to attach the shirt to the fake breasts. This way, the shirt, fake breasts, and bra became a single unit, ensuring the fake breasts wouldn’t shift out of place. It also meant he could run, jump, or engage in other vigorous activities without issue.

Plus, putting it on became much more convenient.

With the fake breasts taken care of, Kagehara Tetsuya put on another looser short-sleeved shirt over everything. The upper half of his disguise was now complete.

For the lower half, he had also bought women’s underwear. After putting them on, they felt a bit tight. He adjusted them several times and then searched online for tips, only to find many comments talking about how "embarrassing" it was.

"Embarrassment..." Kagehara Tetsuya frowned. Perhaps for women, this was an important emotion, closely related to shyness.

But since childhood, he had never truly experienced many emotions, and embarrassment was definitely not one of them.

In comparison, while he also lacked feelings of fear and guilt, those were easier to imagine and understand from books. Fear, in particular, was the easiest to learn and comprehend. He had picked up a lot from horror movies, as there were usually background music cues and characters in the films to provide reference points for when one should feel afraid.

But when it came to embarrassment, even the descriptions in books seemed vague to him.

It’s just a piece of clothing. Why would wearing it cause embarrassment?

If you feel uncomfortable wearing it, then just don’t wear it. Feeling embarrassed while still wearing it is something I just don’t get.

As for shyness, which should be related to embarrassment, it was even more incomprehensible to Kagehara Tetsuya. This emotion often appeared in romantic works—for example, when a woman fell in love with a man, she would usually become shy. The specific manifestations included not daring to look at the other person, not daring to speak to them, and blushing.

This is utterly bizarre. Speaking of which, what does it feel like to love someone?

A racing heartbeat?

Come to think of it, his heart would also race when he came up with new ideas for playing with Pit Bulls. Did that mean he loved these dogs? What a joke.

Besides, it wasn’t like he could always get his hands on these dogs. When he couldn’t find one, he would settle for other strong, resilient dogs. Would that have to be explained as a man’s natural tendency to be fickle?

Apart from romantic love, it seemed women would also deliberately show a shy side at appropriate times to enhance their feminine charm.

If men generally liked women who acted shy, Kagehara Tetsuya could understand that. It was like giving a drink to an alcoholic—they’d be happy. But the so-called "appropriate times" were described in such an ambiguous way.

However, delving deeper into it, things like "feelings" and such had no clear, understandable standards.

If he couldn’t grasp this properly, it might become a flaw when he had to play the role of Yomikawa in the future.

"Then I’ll just have to improvise," Kagehara Tetsuya thought as he put on the yukata provided by the inn.

The yukata was unisex: a blue-checkered inner robe with a crossover collar, tied at the waist with a black sash, and an optional brown outer robe.

Next, he put on the white ankle socks for women he had bought earlier to cover the skin on his feet.

Finally, using his phone’s camera as a mirror, he applied makeup to alter the color of his neck, covering his throat, and then put on the wig.

At this point, the disguise was complete.

"This disguise should be fine."

Kagehara Tetsuya turned on his phone’s video recording function, placed it on the table, and stepped back to capture his full body. He tested the realism of the fake breasts a bit and recalled Yomikawa’s walking posture to mimic it. Overall, even if there were slight differences from the original Yomikawa, it definitely wouldn’t raise any suspicions.

If there was one flaw, it would be his hands.

His hands weren’t particularly rough; in fact, his fingers were quite slender. But they were still a man’s hands, and the size of the knuckles and the skin tone were quite different from Yomikawa’s.

"It looks like I’ll have to wear gloves for a few days and be careful not to show my hands too much."

"Especially in front of the detectives."

According to his prediction, the body in room 216 would likely be discovered in the morning. Although this hot spring inn was rather ordinary, it offered breakfast and would ask guests in advance if they wanted it.

The staff member would probably be the first to discover the body.

Shortly after that, he would have to face police questioning.

In any case, it was time to rest now.

At 11:30 PM, Kagehara Tetsuya turned off his phone and hid it close to his body. He left his house keys, student ID, and other items on the square table for Yomikawa.

Perhaps it was because today’s sudden turn of events had required too much thinking, draining his mental energy, or maybe it was just too late at night. As soon as he lay down in full disguise, he felt waves of drowsiness washing over him, and his consciousness grew increasingly faint, unable to resist.

In his half-asleep state, he felt like he had overlooked something important.

What was it?

His remaining consciousness struggled to think. There wasn’t anything particularly noteworthy at his home. Although there were some files on his computer, the truly important information was all stored in his mind.

If he had to name something he didn’t want to lose, it would probably be the surgical instruments he found very handy. After all, once he started living as Yomikawa, purchasing such items would seem strange, at least in the short term.

It would be great if he could find a chance to retrieve the things from his home.

Maybe he could ask senpai for help, though he wasn’t sure if she’d agree.

Come to think of it, maybe after a few days of living like that, she’d want to swap back...

He didn’t know how much time had passed.

A piercing scream shattered his deep sleep.

Kagehara Tetsuya’s eyes snapped open.

The body in room 216 had been discovered.
