Watching Tachibana charge ahead alone, disappearing into the beast tide, the captain of the Embers base security forces, Da'vion, spoke coldly:

“Stay safe, kids. This battlefield is far crueler than training.”

With that, the bald-headed Da'vion brought his hands together in front of his chest.

The next second, his entire body was covered in hard rock.

Then he turned and headed south.

Da'vion Gamble is a mid-level second-order transformation-type Starbearer, a mere low-level beast tide was utterly incapable of posing any threat to him.

After seeing Tachibana and Da'vion leave one after another, Tendou knew it was time for him to move as well.

After all, the longer a beast tide dragged on, the more troublesome it became.

In the original story, the reason Tachibana was injured during the beast tide was precisely because she had to deal with two Star Monoliths by herself.

By the time she reached the second Star Monolith, several second-order Starbeasts had already gathered around it, along with hundreds—if not thousands—of other Starbeasts nearby.

Although Tachibana ultimately succeeded in destroying the fourth Star Monolith, she still inevitably suffered minor injuries, laying the groundwork for later plot developments.

The lobster Starbeast’s hardened shell shattered instantly under that single step, and the tender flesh beneath exploded into a cloud of blood mist.

The silver-haired youth didn’t even spare it a glance.

Borrowing the recoil, he launched himself back into the air, charging toward the distant beach.

As if, to him, it was no different from accidentally stepping on an ant while traveling—not worth even a moment’s attention.

The surrounding ocean-type Starbeasts, upon noticing Tendou, immediately shifted their target.

Instead of continuing toward the base, they rapidly converged on him.

Though these creatures were far weaker on land than in the sea, in such numbers, even someone as strong as Tendou would waste a considerable amount of time dealing with them.

As such, Tendou had no intention of getting entangled.

His body left behind a faint afterimage, and the next moment he reappeared, standing perfectly level atop the trunk of a tree five meters high.

As Tendou pushed off with both legs, gravity seemed to lose its hold over him at that instant, allowing him to leap an enormous distance once more.

Using this method, Tendou avoided the ocean-type Starbeasts on the ground while rapidly making his way toward the beach.

However, the closer he got to the shore, the fewer trees there were to serve as stepping points.

And it was precisely at this moment that Tendou revealed a mode of movement that completely took the dimensional audience by surprise.

Watching as Tendou pushed off from the last towering tree, the terrain ahead of him had already become a completely flat beach.

As far as the eye could see, apart from a dense mass of Starbeasts, there was nowhere at all left to land.

The reason he could accomplish this was that at the moment his foot touched the leaf, he immediately reversed the vector acting upon it and transferred it onto himself, thereby “pushing” himself forward.

The principle sounded simple, but actually executing it was anything but easy.

That was because he had to alter the vector fed back from the leaf at the exact instant he stepped on it.

Without the terrifying dynamic vision granted by the Star-Eclipse Eye, this would have been utterly impossible.

The Vector Control Star Origin had, by this point, been mastered by him to an extreme degree.

Naturally, this display left the dimensional audience watching through their screens utterly stunned.

“Holy crap—this is still Vector Control? He’s literally jumping on leaves now.”

“This is Vector Control? This is physics collapsing!”

Amid the astonished barrage of comments, Tendou landed steadily on the eastern beach.

Before him lay a massive herd of beasts, and within the shallow sea stood a gigantic stone monolith.

Unlike the mere ten meters it had been on the floating island, the fully activated Star Monolith had now expanded to a full twenty meters in height.

In addition, a special force resembling a “protective barrier” was maintained around the Star Monolith, its purpose being to prevent the summoned beast tide from accidentally toppling it and rendering it ineffective.

“One second-order low-level Sea Wolf Turtle, over twenty first-order Starbeasts… about thirty seconds.”

Just as Tendou finished estimating the time it would take to deal with them, an overconfident octopus Starbeast suddenly appeared at his side.

A sneak attack!

The octopus Starbeast shot out a mass of tentacles, its eyes filled with bloodthirsty savagery, already fantasizing about the glorious scene of capturing Tendou and feasting upon him.

Five dark-gray orbs appeared around his right wrist, continuously rotating in orbit.

Accompanied by sharp whistling sounds tearing through the air, the Dark Grey orbs around Tendou’s wrist transformed into one death warrant after another.

They effortlessly pierced through the skulls of Starbeasts, one after another.

After firing off more than a dozen miniature Dark Greys, a horrifying pile of Starbeast corpses had already formed around Tendou.

Aside from the very first octopus Starbeast, which Tendou had killed with a single punch, all the others had been slain by the Dark Grey.

Sensing Tendou’s threat, the Sea Wolf Turtle guarding the Star Monolith immediately let out a furious roar.

The oppressive presence of a second-order Starbeast shattered the surrounding reef stones, as if warning Tendou not to come any closer. Otherwise, it would show him what true cruelty really meant.

In response, Tendou merely smiled.

“The strong—”

His figure vanished from the spot in an instant.

And when he reappeared, he was already standing atop the Sea Wolf Turtle’s head.

That brief pause he had taken on the beach earlier had not been a waste of time at all.

He had been using the Star-Eclipse Eye to analyze the weak points of this second-order Sea Wolf Turtle.

Now that he had chosen to strike, it meant that the Sea Wolf Turtle’s weakness had already been found.

Aimed at the Sea Wolf Turtle’s back, Tendou brought down a brutal axe kick.

At the same time, he finished the sentence he had left unsaid.

It looked at Tendou—who was walking toward it—with terror in its eyes.

Its front limbs trembled violently, no longer able to support its massive body, and it collapsed to its knees before him.

It was obvious that it had already sensed the arrival of death.

Looking down at the Sea Wolf Turtle, blood spraying from its seven orifices, terror written all over its face, Tendou smiled as he stepped in front of it and placed a hand against its brow.

“Without your shell… what are you planning to use this time to keep yourself alive?”

He gave the Sea Wolf Turtle no chance to answer.

The Dark Grey gathered at Tendou’s fingertips instantly pierced through its skull, then spread inward along that path, deep into its body.

After a rapid series of popping sounds like exploding beans, the Sea Wolf Turtle’s enormous body detonated right in front of Tendou.

Blood and chunks of flesh mixed together and scattered across the ground.

A gruesome firework of flesh and gore blossomed along the shoreline.

Standing amidst the horrifying rain of blood and meat, Tendou turned toward the direction of the dimensional screen and revealed a smile that sent chills down the spine.

At this moment, there was no trace left of the friendly, boy-next-door charm he usually had.

What remained was only a cold, brutal tyrant, violence incarnate.

As an enemy, a Tendou like this was unquestionably terrifying.

But as a teammate, such a Tendou was all the more reliable.

After confirming that the Sea Wolf Turtle was completely dead, Tendou silently calculated the time.

“Mm. Exactly thirty seconds, not a second more, not a second less.”

With that, Tendou ignored the Starbeast horde once again surging toward him and looked ahead, at the gigantic Star Monolith, its entire surface covered in crimson patterns.

Around it were ferocious, hideous Starbeasts.

At the center stood a silver-haired youth, smiling faintly.

Clearly, the beast tide should have been the crueler side.

Yet for some reason, the dimensional audience felt that the smiling Tendou at this moment was far more brutal than those Starbeasts.
