Chapter 3: A Scene After School
A Scene After School
In the world of manga and anime, if you were asked what organization has the most power in a school, you would answer without hesitation: The Student Council.
I even joined it once out of admiration in my past life, but in reality, I had no power whatsoever and was mostly just doing odd jobs.
So, being the clever person I am, I thought:
Wouldn't it be a good idea to get Yuuki, a guy who's like the enemy of all men, into the Student Council?
He needs to work hard to make up for the good life he enjoyed for granted.
Conveniently, the student council already has Hakaze Izumi, a senior, student council president, and perfect beauty heroine, so I could get him to get together with her.
"Fujii Yuuki-san. Would you like to join the Student Council? We would welcome you."
"...I'll pass."
I managed to trick him into going to the Student Council room, but he had no motivation at all.
It's okay, it's within expectations.
Having been with him for a long time, I know, Yuuki is a passive man.
He's proactive when we're hanging out alone, but he becomes passive at school.
I guess Yuuki finds it easier to talk to close friends he knows well. I understand that well, because I'm the same.
I've strayed a bit from the topic, but the current problem is how to get Yuuki into the Student Council.
It's difficult to think of something on the spot, so let me list a few ideas.
[1: Force Him In]
I'm afraid he might seek revenge later, but it's probably the quickest way.
We can have Hakaze-san draw up a contract, and get Yuuki to sign it the moment he's not looking.
If I can't think of anything else, this will do.
Yuuki doesn't even have human rights! Yup!
[2: Persuade Him]
This is a peaceful solution. I'd really like to do this, but judging by his behavior, it seems like a reckless attempt.
Frankly speaking, it's impossible.
He rarely changes his mind once he's made a decision unless something drastic happens.
[3: I'll Join the Student Council Too]
It'll probably be easier for Yuuki to join if he has friends. Thinking that Yuuki will join if I join feels a bit self-centered, but it's the most likely option so far.
But I don't want to, so it's rejected.
... I couldn't think of a good idea.
I have no choice. I'll resort to the last resort: Forcing Him—
"Excuse me, Senpai. I'm going to the restroom."
"Ah... sure, go ahead."
Yuuki has left to go to the restroom, and now it's just me and Hakaze-san.
.....
It's awkward.
"I'm sorry, I did ask you to bring him, but... why are you here too, Kirihara-san...?"
"Well... he couldn't have been brought here without me."
"...I see."
"...Yeah."
That's right, I had been ordered by Hakaze-senpai to bring Yuuki here.
I also thought it would be good to have him join the student council and keep him there.
I managed to bring Yuuki here somehow, but I followed along.
It couldn't be helped!
Yuuki makes a displeased face just approaching the Student Council room, so I had to trick him into coming in.
In fact, when he noticed that he was in the Student Council room, he had a grumpy look on his face.
"....."
"....."
Awkward.
It's just my own deduction, but Yuuki is probably in the classroom, not the restroom.
Definitely!
100%!
It's not just Yuuki who can do it. I can read his mind too.
That's why I can see right through him, chatting away with someone from his harem even now, in after school scenery.
... I'm getting incredibly irritated.
I'll go back to the classroom and give him a good beating.
★
"...Zzzzzzz~~"
"He's sleeping...?"
When I returned to the classroom, as expected, Yuuki was there, but he wasn't talking to anyone.
He was slumped over his desk, breathing heavily in his sleep.
He must have been bored because I wasn't there to talk to him.
I felt a little fondness for him since he wasn't talking to anyone from the harem.
Just a little, though.
When I peeked at his face, his usual goofy expression looked even goofier.
Snap!
I took a picture and sent it to Yuuki's phone, with doodles on it, of course.
... Looking at him like this, Yuuki seems kind of cute.
Normally, he acts all grown-up and does cringeworthy things like not caring about his popularity, but when he's sleeping, I can see the real Yuuki.
He was innocent until the first year of middle school. He started acting grown-up around the second year, so I've always thought Yuuki was suffering from . I've been with him since elementary school, so I feel like his guardian.
It's okay, Yuuki. Let's just go through the same fate as me, with a severe case of chuunibyou (distant gaze).
"Oh, Kirihara-senpai, aren't you going home?"
"...Akari-chan."
It's after school now. Of course, everyone has gone home, and anyone still here would stand out.
Akari-chan is in the second-year classroom, and as you can see, she hasn't gone home yet.
The reason is obvious, isn't it?
It's Yuuki.
I glare at Yuuki, who's still asleep, with a resentful look.
Now that I think about it, even today, he was talking to the other heroines while I was right in front of him.
Yeah, I don't think he should be allowed to do that. Looks like I'll have to lecture him on the way home.
"Excuse me, Kirihara-senpai, can I ask you a question?"
"What is it?"
With a pained expression on her face, yet somehow with an air of understanding, Akari-chan asked:
"Kirihara-senpai and Fujii-senpai..."
"Hm?"
"Are you two dating?"
"Hah?!"
"So it's true?!"
"No, no! We're not dating yet, we're not dating yet!"
"...Not yet?"
I tried to clear up Akari-chan's misunderstanding, her eyes sparkling. I was desperate to make this absolutely clear.
I'd been wrongly accused!
Unlike the girls in the harem, I don't love Yuuki!
If it's "like" rather than "love"... maybe it's barely acceptable.
Certainly, I admit we spend time together at school and after school.
... Because I don't have any friends to hang out with.
But that's right, Yuuki is a boy and I'm a girl. It's probably natural that others would think so.
I absolutely refuse to acknowledge it, though!
"Well, let's leave it at that."
"I'm telling you, we're really not dating."
The misunderstanding hasn't been cleared up yet, but I decided to keep quiet as saying anything more would probably be pointless.
I won't give up; I can slowly work on clearing up the misunderstanding over time.
"Okay! If you're not dating, yet, then I should have a chance!"
"Good luck."
I cheered on Akari-chan, who slapped her cheeks.
Good luck, though it'll be a tough road since Yuuki is probably not a guy.
"Fujii-senpai is asleep, so I'll be going now. Excuse me."
"Oh, yeah, bye-bye."
The classroom, which had been quiet after Akari-chan left, returned to its quiet state.
Looking at the time, it's getting late.
My parents will worry if I don't go home soon.
"Come on, wake up."
"...Yeah."
I shook his shoulder, and he woke up immediately. It's unusual; it would usually take several minutes for Yuuki to wake up in time like this.
His face is strangely red; I wonder if he has a fever.
I'm usually pretty harsh with Yuuki, but I wouldn't do that to someone who's sick.
I subtly support him. Our face is closer, and I can see it better.
... Hmm, it's definitely redder than before.
"Are you okay? Your face is red."
"N-no, I'm fine. Come on, let's go home quickly."
"...Yeah."
If that's what he says, then that's fine. So all I can do is go home quickly, with this guy.
AN:
Well, I've finally managed to get all the girls from the harem to show up.
... I feel like there was , but I'm probably just imagining thing—oh!
