Chapter 4: The Value of the Spirit Field

Xianxia: Establishing an Immortal Clan Through Simulation

Chapter 4: The Value of the Spirit Field

On the Heavenly Martial Continent, spiritual herbs, like pills, were divided into four grades: low-grade, mid-grade, high-grade, and top-grade.

For their medicinal properties to reach the desired potency and be suitable for refining pills, spiritual herbs also needed to reach a certain age depending on their grade.

Low-grade spiritual herbs generally required one to nine years.

Mid-grade spiritual herbs generally required ten to fifty years.

High-grade spiritual herbs generally required fifty-one to two hundred years.

Top-grade spiritual herbs generally required two hundred and one to one thousand years.

In other words, if a ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field were used entirely to cultivate mid-grade spiritual herbs, some relatively ordinary mid-grade spiritual herbs could reach harvesting age in less than two years. Even relatively rare and unusual mid-grade spiritual herbs would take only a few years to mature.

“According to the records in the clan's Miscellaneous Records and Accounts of What I've Seen and Heard, one mu of Mid-Grade Spirit Field can cultivate approximately ten mid-grade spiritual herbs at the same time. Ten mu would mean one hundred plants.”

“If they're sold at market price, an ordinary mid-grade spiritual herb costs an average of around 300 low-grade spirit stones. One hundred mid-grade spiritual herbs would therefore be worth... hiss...”

At this thought, Lin Zichen could not help sucking in a sharp breath.

Thirty thousand low-grade spirit stones.

As long as he planted the entire spirit field extracted from the system with mid-grade spiritual herbs, he could harvest thirty thousand low-grade spirit stones in no more than two or three years.

That was thirty thousand low-grade spirit stones!

Even the Lin Clan, one of the ten great families of Gentle Breeze City, only earned around two or three thousand low-grade spirit stones a year. It was nowhere near enough even to fully support the cultivation of the clan's Innate Realm martial artists.

“No wonder the Zhao Clan, Wang Clan, and Huang Clan went so crazy after learning that the Lin Clan possessed a Mid-Grade Spirit Field...”

At this moment, a look of realization flashed through Lin Zichen's eyes.

Profit truly had the power to move people's hearts.

In this Heavenly Martial Continent, where martial strength reigned supreme, the Lin Clan was not exactly an insignificant ant, but it was still merely a third-rate force.

For the Lin Clan, possessing a Mid-Grade Spirit Field was no different from a child carrying a gold brick through a crowded marketplace.

However, the future simulated by the Immortal Clan Simulator was merely a highly probable future deduced by the system based on his current circumstances, with the influence of his cheat ability excluded.

In reality, he was here.

As long as he had enough spirit stones, what did the forces of a mere Gentle Breeze City amount to?

It would not take long before he could lead the Lin Clan to crush them all.

“Phew. I need to find a way to hand the Mid-Grade Spirit Field over to Father in a reasonable manner. Only then can I obtain more spirit stones.”

After taking a deep breath, Lin Zichen looked at the Mid-Grade Spirit Field inside the system space, his brows furrowing tightly.

Although the system space could be used for storage, it contained no spiritual energy from heaven and earth.

Therefore, he could not use the Mid-Grade Spirit Field to cultivate spiritual herbs inside the system space.

Besides, even if he could, he did not have enough spiritual herb seeds or the time and energy to manage them...

“But before that, I still have one simulation left. I might as well use it first.”

With that thought, Lin Zichen took out the last ten low-grade spirit stones in his possession and converted them into energy points.

According to the rules of the Immortal Clan Simulator, the amount of energy required for both individual simulations and clan simulations was tied to the level of the clan.

At present, the Lin Clan was a third-rate force.

A single clan simulation required 100 energy points, while an individual simulation cost one-tenth of that. Therefore, once the Lin Clan was promoted to a second-rate force, a single clan simulation would cost 1,000 energy points, and so on.

Once the Lin Clan became a top-tier force, a single clan simulation would require as many as 100,000 energy points.

In this regard, the ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field rewarded by the system had arrived at exactly the right time.

If utilized properly, it would be enough to bring about a transformation in both Lin Zichen and the Lin Clan.

“System, begin the simulation.”

As soon as Lin Zichen finished speaking, the ten energy points he had just converted on his personal interface instantly disappeared.

Immediately afterward, lines of text depicting the simulation from his perspective unfolded one after another before his eyes.

【Lin Clan Chronology, Year 212, August 3: Your cultivation successfully broke through to the eighth level of the Acquired Realm. By a fortunate coincidence, you obtained a ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field. Fully aware of the Spirit Field's value, you were both pleasantly surprised and slightly troubled. You possessed a mountain of treasure, yet had no idea how to explain its existence to your family.】

【Lin Clan Chronology, Year 212, August 18: After careful consideration, you revealed your eighth-level Acquired Realm cultivation during a meeting of the Lin Clan's higher-ups, shocking everyone present... Based on everyone's assumptions, you were presumed to be the successor of some supreme expert or a major force. Taking advantage of the situation, you revealed the existence of the Mid-Grade Spirit Field. Everyone was ecstatic.】

【On the same day, you successfully placed the ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field within the Lin Clan's restricted grounds, where your grandfather personally guarded it.】

【That evening, after discussing the matter, the various Innate Realm martial artists of the Lin Clan decided to appoint you as the Young Clan Leader and reward you with 100 low-grade spirit stones. From then on, ten percent of the profits generated by the ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field would become your personal share. You were overjoyed upon hearing this.】

【Lin Clan Chronology, Year 213, February 1: After nearly half a year of arduous cultivation, with an abundant supply of low-grade spirit stones, you not only broke through to the ninth level of the Acquired Realm but also stepped into the Innate Realm in a single leap. At this point, more than half of your spirit stones had been consumed.】

【Lin Clan Chronology, Year 213, April 26: You exhausted all the resources in your possession and pushed your cultivation to the peak of the first level of the Innate Realm.】

【Lin Clan Chronology, Year 214, July 19: Your cultivation broke through to the second level of the Innate Realm. Half a month later, the clan held a coming-of-age ceremony for you and the clan members who had reached the age of eighteen.】

【Having learned your lesson from last time, you deliberately concealed your strength during this coming-of-age challenge tournament. Although you still took first place, you did not display an overwhelming advantage, preventing your performance from causing a sensation outside the clan.】

【Lin Clan Chronology, Year 214, September 14: The first batch of mid-grade spiritual herbs matured. After deducting the costs, you received a profit of 769 low-grade spirit stones.】

....

“Seven hundred and sixty-nine low-grade spirit stones? That little?”

Looking at the words displayed on the light screen, a trace of disappointment flashed through Lin Zichen's eyes.

But after thinking about it, he felt that it was quite normal.

He only possessed a ten-percent share of the profits. In other words, the total profit generated by the ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field over two years was 7,690 low-grade spirit stones.

That was already fifty percent more than the Lin Clan's total income over the previous two years.

Besides, secretly purchasing spiritual herb seeds, cultivating mid-grade spiritual herbs for the first time, setting up formations around the Mid-Grade Spirit Field, and so on would all require considerable expenses.

“In the beginning, we need to construct and prepare all kinds of things, and we also lack experience. That's why the costs are relatively high. After gaining experience from the first cycle, the next profit distribution should bring in quite a few more spirit stones.”

Thinking of this, Lin Zichen smiled lightly.

He was very curious to see just how far he and the Lin Clan could go after the addition of this ten-mu Mid-Grade Spirit Field.

With that thought, Lin Zichen once again turned his gaze toward the light screen that only he could see.

Line after line of text describing the future he might experience immediately appeared before his eyes.
