Trapped In Paradise
Volume 1 Chapter 46: Wen Yang Becomes Self-Aware
Ever since Wen Yang left, Ning Chu had been feeling restless. He listened to music and watched TV, trying to immerse himself in the dramas so he could get through this difficult stretch of time.
Meanwhile, Zhang Shaoqing sidled up next to Wang Jie and began whispering slanderous gossip about his reputation with a mischievous grin.
“Hey, Wang Jie! Have you noticed? Ning Chu really seems to like Wen Yang.”
“Look at how shy he was just now~ His face is looking more and more like a girl’s, too.”
“And his chest. It’s pretty flat, so it’s not obvious, but there’s definitely a little something there... Do you think he might secretly be taking some kind of medicine for Wen Yang?”
But Wang Jie, who was as dense as ever—even when a woman had suddenly appeared in his dormitory and spent every night singing and dancing with his two roommates without him noticing anything—just stared blankly for a moment before decisively shaking his head.
“Don’t make stuff up. Ning Chu will get mad if he hears you.”
“No, seriously, haven’t you noticed how much Ning Chu cares about Wen Yang? He looked just like a little wife just now~”
Wang Jie remained focused on his game. Glancing at the yellow-haired boy from the corner of his eye, he muttered, “Wasn’t he just as concerned about you when you were feeling down before? He even clumsily tried to comfort you. So does that mean he likes you too?”
“Uh...”
Recalling Ning Chu’s clumsy attempts at comforting and apologizing to him, Zhang Shaoqing scratched the back of his head, unable to come up with a rebuttal.
“I think Ning Chu is just that kind of person. He’s warm-hearted and used to taking care of the friends around him. Sure, he can be a little nosy, which is pretty annoying, but he’s still a good guy. Why do you always pick on him?”
“You’re practically making Ning Chu sound like a saint,” Zhang Shaoqing curled his lip in disdain. He turned his head to glance at Ning Chu, only to see Ning Chu suddenly clutching his lower abdomen, his face turning deathly pale.
“What’s wrong?!”
“N-No, it’s fine. My stomach hurts.” Ning Chu hurriedly waved his hand, but he couldn’t hide the smile at the corners of his mouth.
After experiencing this several times, he had realized that whenever the hentai plot was disrupted, his body would always react strangely, such as with abdominal pain.
“Are you a masochist?”
“Hell no!!”
It worked!
All the effort he had put in over the past two weeks had finally allowed Wen Yang to consciously maintain his virginity! This stomachache had to mean that Wen Yang had actively refused some event that was supposed to happen in the plot!
Perhaps the words Ning Chu had said to Wen Yang before he left had also played a crucial role!
The magic had finally learned how to defeat itself~
But didn’t this mean he was going to become more feminine again?
Ning Chu’s smile abruptly disappeared, leaving only a deep sense of melancholy and sorrow in his heart.
He had no idea what part of him would become feminized this time.
Previously, it had been his bust, hips, and face, leaving him with a face that now looked unnervingly girlish and a figure like that of a young girl who had only just begun developing.
When he had first transmigrated, Ning Chu would never have imagined that his original appearance—that of a delicate, pretty young boy—would eventually become the most masculine version of himself.
The more he thought about it, the more miserable he became. He listlessly slumped over the desk.
“Ning Chu, what are we eating for dinner?” Zhang Shaoqing, completely oblivious to his mood, came over again. “Want to combine our orders and hit the discount threshold?”
“I’ll eat at the cafeteria later.”
He only had a few yuan left, so Ning Chu was considering buying a couple of packs of instant noodles.
“What’s so good about the cafeteria? I’ll treat you~”
“Forget it.”
Not getting the answer he wanted, Zhang Shaoqing turned around and ran back to Wang Jie.
“Wang Jie! Let’s combine our order and get the discount~”
About an hour later, the sky outside had gone completely dark, and Ning Chu’s stomach had finally begun to protest with hunger.
Only then did he slowly get to his feet and walk out of the dormitory, his face filled with worry.
“Ning Chu! Get me a bottle of Coke!” Wang Jie was the first to notice him leaving and shouted loudly. “I’ll transfer you the money first!”
“Sure!”
“I want iced tea, and get me a box of ice cream too! Oh, and a cup of yogurt. Strawberry flavor.”
Ning Chu turned around and looked at Zhang Shaoqing’s smug, irritating grin.
He also smiled sweetly and nodded.
“Sure... call me Dad and I’ll buy it for you.”
He had quickly found an opportunity to strike back.
“Why doesn’t Wang Jie have to call you that?!”
“He only wants one bottle of Coke. You want drinks, ice cream, and yogurt on top of that.”
Zhang Shaoqing looked thoroughly displeased. He stared straight at Ning Chu with such a fierce expression that Ning Chu began to feel a little guilty.
Oh no. Had he gone too far?
“Dad.”
The word, so faint that it was almost inaudible, drifted into Ning Chu’s ears.
“Hmm?”
“I already transferred the money to you. Hurry up!”
“Got it!”
Good grief, did this villain have a hidden tsundere side?!
Ning Chu suddenly felt much happier and excitedly left the dormitory.
Night had fallen, and the dormitory area was brightly illuminated by rows of streetlights. Unlike usual, bright red strips of lights had been hung on the greenery lining the roads.
He walked around the large garden in the center of the dormitory area, afraid that he might once again run into couples fooling around in the bushes. As his eyes wandered over the strips of lights on either side of the road, he felt a little confused.
“Is there some kind of holiday?”
After walking another dozen meters and turning a corner, he saw a banner stretched across the road overhead.
“Happy National Day? National Day?”
So the holidays in this parallel world were the same as before...
Ning Chu hurriedly checked the holiday schedule on his phone. To his surprise, he discovered that starting tomorrow, October 1st, National Day would be celebrated with seven days off.
Holy crap! Seven days off with no make-up workdays! And with the weekend added in, that made a full nine days! What kind of paradise was this?!
How had nobody told him about it?!
Didn’t this mean that those flirty vixens would have plenty of opportunities to make a move on Wen Yang during the holiday?!
The joy of the holiday was instantly swept away. Ning Chu’s expression stiffened, and he stopped on his way to the supermarket. He turned around and headed toward the back gate of the university instead.
No. He still couldn’t put his mind at ease.
Unlike before, when they had military training the next day and those seductive girls might have had some reservations, this long holiday gave them far more room to make their moves!
Let’s think. What were some of the main-story events that lasted for a long period of time?
Working away from home during the long holiday, with the landlady repeatedly demanding his DNA as payment for rent?
Being drugged into unconsciousness, only to wake up locked in a basement, where the horny vixens would drain him for three days and three nights?
Surely Wen Yang wouldn’t casually rent a place just because he was going out for a meal. And there was no way he’d be drugged unconscious in broad daylight, right?
Although there was a good chance he was simply overthinking things, the uneasiness in his heart refused to go away.
“I’ll go to the supermarket outside campus. I’ll take a look while I’m passing by...”
Ning Chu muttered to himself and changed direction. His pace went from a leisurely walk to a brisk one, and eventually he broke into a jog, leaving through the back gate of the university and arriving on the street.
He looked left and right, but the countless small restaurants lining the street left him at a loss.
“Which restaurant are you eating at? What private room?”
He sent Wen Yang a message and anxiously paced back and forth for several minutes before finally receiving a reply.
“We’re at a street food stall. The one directly across from that Sichuan restaurant we went to before. We’re just sitting by the roadside.”
“What’s wrong? Are you coming too? Then you’d better hurry. The food’s already been served.”
After confirming the location, Ning Chu quickened his pace considerably. He even found the time to send another message.
“I’m just going to the supermarket outside to buy something to eat.”
