“So that’s why you suddenly brought up the café owner last night.”

Ning Chu followed Wen Yang with an exasperated expression, while Zhang Shaoqing trailed behind them, tagging along just to watch the fun.

“You don’t want to do it?”

“Of course I do! Several hundred yuan a day! With how few customers she gets, it’s basically free money. Why wouldn’t I?”

The café couldn’t compete with bubble-tea shops. It had never really become popular among the university students. Whenever Ning Chu had passed by, he had noticed that there were usually only two or three customers inside. The owner could easily handle the work herself.

The only downside was that he might get teased by a rich older woman.

They crossed the street at the crosswalk. Ning Chu stopped outside the café and looked at the poster pasted on the glass door.

On the left side of the poster was a young man dressed in a butler uniform. He looked like a character from the anime Black Butler—elegant and handsome.

On the right was a young woman wearing a short-skirted maid uniform. Since the café owner wore a maid outfit every day, it was hardly surprising to see one featured on the poster.

It was probably because of this event that the owner temporarily needed two part-time servers.

Before Ning Chu could look any closer, Wen Yang urged him inside.

It was eight in the morning, and the café hadn’t opened yet. The owner was busy arranging the tables and chairs. When she saw the three of them enter, she greeted them with a warm smile.

“You’re here~”

The owner, a woman nearing thirty, was still wearing the same black-and-white, low-cut maid dress with a short skirt. Carrying herself with mature charm, she came over to them.

“You two go change in the back. Have you eaten breakfast? I’ll make something for you.”

“This guy... Is he here for the part-time job too?”

Zhang Shaoqing waved his hand and casually found a seat, “No, I’m just here for the fun of it. I was bored alone in the dorm.”

“I see~ If you want something to eat, just tell the two servers later.”

The owner turned back with a smile, only to find the two new part-time servers still standing there blankly.

“Go change.”

“I’ll take you two there.”

The café looked small, but after opening the door beside the counter, there was a small storage room, a restroom, and a lounge area in the back.

The owner led the two of them into the lounge. She went in first, then took out two unopened uniforms and handed one to each of them.

“You have half an hour before opening. There’s an event today, so there’ll be plenty of customers. Get yourselves ready. You won’t finish work until nine tonight.”

“That’s a long time...” Ning Chu muttered.

“Five hundred yuan for the day, plus ten percent commission on whatever you sell.”

Seeing his eyes widen in astonishment, the owner covered her mouth and laughed.

“But there’s one condition. You have to call every customer who comes in ‘Master.’”

“...”

Ning Chu fell silent. He instinctively turned toward Wen Yang to ask his opinion, only to find Wen Yang’s eyes shining as he nodded without hesitation.

“You money-grubber...” Ning Chu muttered, but he also nodded.

“Alright, sign an agreement. I don’t want you two quitting halfway through. You have to work for at least three days, okay~”

“Why make it so formal?”

After they signed the agreement, Ning Chu followed the owner back and immediately entered the lounge.

There was only a wardrobe and a bed inside. He locked the door behind him, leaned against it, and patted his chest in relief.

“Thank goodness. The owner is actually pretty normal this time.”

At least she hadn’t teased him like last time, leaving him so nervous that he thought she was some desperately horny, perverted rich woman.

She still had a bit of a mischievous streak, but it was acceptable.

It was just calling someone “Master,” right? A high salary was basically buying this little bit of his dignity anyway!

Suddenly, he had a strange sense of déjà vu. The situation reminded him of something he had once seen in a hentai doujin.

Ning Chu continued pointing at the maid outfit, indignantly demanding, “My uniform!”

“Hm?”

“It’s a maid outfit!”

“Yeah.”

“What do you mean, ‘yeah’?!”

The corners of the owner’s lips curled upward, and she could barely contain her delighted smile.

“Otherwise? Would I pay you five hundred yuan just to work as a server?”

Ning Chu: “...”

“I’m ready.” Wen Yang pushed open the door of the lounge.

He was dressed entirely in black trousers and a black jacket, with a white shirt underneath. The almost completely black outfit accentuated his tall, straight figure. A faint smile rested on his face, adding a touch of elegance to his already handsome appearance.

Normally, he was already the kind of guy who made girls’ eyes light up. Dressed like this, though, he was probably enough to leave even the most lovestruck girls weak in the knees.

Ning Chu turned around, glanced at him, and disdainfully curled his lips.

Why did he have to dress up so handsomely?! Was he trying to attract all the younger girls?!

“Ning Chu, hurry up,” Wen Yang urged.

“I’m not doing this anymore. It’s just a part-time job, and now you want me to wear women’s clothes...”

“It’s for work.”

At that righteous tone, Ning Chu abruptly looked up and stared directly at Wen Yang.

“You knew about this all along, didn’t you?!”

Wen Yang guiltily rubbed the back of his head.

“I didn’t know...”

“Little brother~ You have to be professional. We already agreed.” The café owner slipped an arm around Ning Chu’s shoulders. The scent of her perfume immediately filled his nose as she spoke in a soft, seductive voice. “If you leave, where am I supposed to find another server now?”

Hiss— Could you stay a little farther away from me?! You wicked woman!

“Hurry up, go change! You wouldn’t want Wen Yang to have to serve all those customers by himself, would you?”

“Besides, you already signed the agreement.”

The agreement...

So that was what she had been waiting for?

Ning Chu stiffened as the owner pushed him straight back into the lounge.

“Don’t come out until you’re dressed~ And remember to put on the stockings too!”

This was bad!

He sighed and stiffly unfolded the maid outfit, laying it flat across the bed in the lounge.

He sat down heavily, grimacing as he slowly lifted one leg and pulled the black stockings onto it.

For some inexplicable reason, he was starting to feel a little excited about this!
